We are shutting down Experimental servers

Survivors, we're shutting down Experimental servers in order to prep them for the upcoming Stress Tests. Please switch to the Stable branch servers - and don't panic, we're not launching the Stress Tests just yet!

Apparently the initial stress test versions will be limited to the extent that DayZ .63 will be PUBZ for awhile.

If I remember correctly, during the stream the devs mentioned limited functionality in stress test versions which would basically leave us with a PvP focused experience.

I'm still looking forward to it though. :)

it looks like the test will be at Chernogorsk. I hope the devs do it on the current 0.62 map .... otherwise the test will run on 90% of the players to NWAF race to see it.

This is certainly not the point of the matter, but pure action in a concentrated space to bring the network traffic to the limits .... Combat (and vehicles on speed) is the real time-critical point at DayZ .... desynch fishing will not bother anyone.

Now if they really want to increase network traffic..... throw in 8 or 10 military tents full of loot within a few meters of one another and watch the slideshow as people running and gunning in that!  Concentrated tents with massive gear destroy performance currently, especially when PVP happens near them.

will always be a PvP focussed experience. The game design doesn't really make for a good single player or builder survival game, I'd rather look into 7 days to 2 for that, which also is a lot of fun. DayZ is about realism and this realism is focused around guns, so I'd definitely think it is a PvP shooter. After 0.55 I have never ever died to anything but players or the odd bug. 

 

That said, I ook forward to testing 0.63 soon.

      So been trying to do some stuff trying to see if i can use a secondary application Like wine but for some reason after i launch the server it says the following

      002a:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly.
      002a:err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.
      Since i heard some other people got it working with wine anyone out there that can light it up a tiny bit :?

      Hi,

      first of all, huge thanks for publishing the 0.63 server files!
      Would it be possible to allow disabling the BattlEye anticheat (in future builds) for self-hosted 0.63 servers/the 0.63 client? Arma 3 has option "BattlEye" which you can set to 0 so people without BattlEye can join the server.
      I've tried adding this option to the serverDZ.cfg but it does not disable the BattlEye for the server so I guess this option has been disabled/not implemented. (logs say BattlEye initialized and the game shows BattlEye on in the server browser, which means I can't connect on Linux)

      The main reason for disabling BattlEye for me is to allow Linux (and Mac?) gamers (Using Wine/Steam Play Proton) to join the server. This of course adds the possibility of cheating which isn't too big of a concern for me at least and it could be handled some other way.
      DayZ 0.63 Offline mode works really nice with Steam Play so playing DayZ on Linux is (almost) ideal for me and most likely for many other Linux gamers.

      Please, consider allowing this option.

      we are going to release a new Experimental update in a few minutes.
      fixes for spawning of loot around dynamic events fixes for proper admin log functionality fixes of database loading errors server stability fixes private shard servers are listed as private now changes to prevent speed hacks basic armor system implemented (e.g. vests and helmets take part of the damage of the damaged body part until they are ruined) changes to the chat UI fixes aimed at preventing a character getting a permanent DB lockout fix for the hit detection issues fixes for magazine getting stuck in weapon and not allowing for manipulation fixes for proper display of official/private servers in browser fixes for proper logging of server .rpt files We will update official experimental servers first and GSP will afterward update community servers (which shouldn't take longer than 1 hour).
      No wipe.
