The 2 cars I owned were manual transmission and I think I'm a better man for it.

 

However, I haven't owned one in over a decade, and now have about 16,000 miles riding bikes in the last 5 years.

You're supposed to be able to drink directly from pumps and ponds/lakes, with differing effects of course, but in 0.59 up until now it's been bugged so that you can't hydrate directly from a well.

Someone posted the hiking routes a couple of days ago.Thanks for that! I am hiking my way through the map now and rarely use roads, unless I'm in the car, of course ^^ This is really relaxing, despite the full servers.  

 

Mind sending me the hiking routes map?  I don't know where to find it, I would like to see it.

Yes I was, spammed it no problem.  There was NO persistance reset by the way, found one of my barrel stashes intact.

Bummer man. I'm having a heck of a time trying to get past this BattleEye issue. I've emailed support@battleye.com to let them know. 

 

I actually updated my graphics driver (Nvidia GTX680) hoping it might help but now reading back a few pages I see I should roll back. 

 

Any other suggestions?

I don't feel any slower on foot, but I couldn't use the waterpumps without bottles either. From what I understand drinking without a bottle should work at lakes/ponds though. I always use a bottle now. I don't get the accelerated time. It feels like nights are much longer than days. I feel like I'm playing at night 80% of the time. It's weird. 

I wonder if maybe the accelerated time scale is giving me the impression of being slower on foot.  That could be it too.

Be very careful driving the UAZ jeep, she likes to roll.  Didn't kill me but didn't get too damn far either before I hit a curb and put her on her side...

Did you validate?  You may have to uninstall and reinstall from scratch.

If I remember right the devs boosted runspeed because of lack of vehicles. So they may have nerfed it a bit since vehicles are a thing now. Memory is a bit hazy though.

ANOTHER EDIT: After validating my game files it fails to launch BE and Install and window closes. 

 

Validating game files again and now its installing the BattlEye Service......fingers crossed or I'll be reinstalling the game.

I, too have experienced the BattlEye Loop of death... Un- and re- installed, validated cache, files, ... I should have never switched to stable when the servers came down today, maybe it would still be working.

This is gonna be a long night, I have to have this fixed ASAP.

 

I am trying to read up about the specific issue, and somewhere it said that it could be my Anti Virus Software (AVG) not letting Battleye get through... is that a possibility?

I know this isn't a BE troubleshooting thread and so I apologize to the mods in advance but if there's a chance it helps out our Experimental bretheren then I suppose it's worth posting.  I'll keep it short and spoiler'd

 

I'm not having any BattlEye issues myself but here's something else you can check:

 

You can confirm that BattlEye has proper Read/Write/Administrator permissions this way:

Go to your BatteEye folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\BattlEye)

right-click the BEClient.dll, select Properties and under the Security tab and confirm that your Windows Username has 'Full Control' checked off.

 

You guys might also want to try to set the executables in that same folder to "Run as Admin"

Right-click them, select Properties, then under the Compatability folder put a check mark next to "Run this program as an Administrator", click APPLY and then OK.

 

I would do the same for the two BE executables in the other BE folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\BattlEye

I switched to the newui today, begrudgingly.  I really miss double-clicking to pick up items GUNS.  At least I can take off all the car parts now.

 

Update on my sedan stuck against two trees:  I chopped them down and hopped in.  First bit of gas made all the doors/hood/trunk disappear.  wondering if it is worth the time to run the ruined battery and plug down to another vehicle.  I know the location of 4 sedans, now.  I'm suspicious of two of them, because of how they are laying up against structures in small depressions; seems like they been abandoned because of the impossibility of getting them going out from those positions.  Anybody wanna take a stab at complete destruction via frag grenades, to see if they will respawn by sometime tomorrow?

 

Also, forget the command V3S, I want a damn winch on a boom so we can recover vehicles.  If these handling and power issues aren't fixed by the time it goes to stable, I give it a week before every vehicle on the map is unusable because it had slid up against something.  With as much work as it takes to get one of these running, I'd feel like a real winner using one sedan to push another one out of an impasse, only to get two rigs stuck.

So, we've had a little experimental fun at the public camp I made on DE02. First a guy showed up out of nowhere, expressing his happiness in many words. Very nice first encounter, because I was actually tabbed out and reading the Wiki when he came by, yet he didn't shoot me. We chatted and cooked some pumpkins on a stick, cooked a little food. Then he left high-spirited. A little while later Tatanko, the great white buffalo, showed up and the other guy had come back with a few items he shared with us. The best of which was a flare gun, which I fired into the right direction it seems, because five minutes later another guy showed up and told us it was dangerous what we are doing, because someone might come and shoot us. Keen observational skills there, Sherlock ;) He stayed around for some banter: a German, a Russian, an American and a Brit standing around just talking - welcome to what also is DayZ.

 

After everyone had left, Tatanko and me went to a lake to fish some and found out that it's impossible for two people to fish in the same place. Whenever I started fishing or checked the bait, it would say Tatanko moved and pulled out the bait. We tried it in a 100m radius and it was always reproducable. The best catch of the evening was definitely a pair of boots :) I raised gamma for that, because they were hard to see in the water. First time I've ever seen someone catch boots in DayZ! They also took the bait. The Hunger Boots!

I hope we can build a whole tent camp around that place. It would be awesome to have a place to trade and banter that only occasionally gets raided by bandits ^^ Good night.

I'm willing to bet this is the issue for a lot of people. This has happened before.

Today I went out of my norm and played on 1PP. I can confirm what Barnabus said earlier: the water pump issue is fixed. You can once again drink directly from them, and safely, without a container. I was able to meet up with S3V3N at his settlement on DE 0-2, We had two other randoms there at one point as well, and nobody killed anyone :) S3V3N may have even made a friend!

 

As he put it, it's nice to use nighttime to just relax and tend to the tasks of your camp: keeping the fire going, cooking, crafting, growing plants, managing your supplies, etc. At one point we detoured to a lake in order to do some fishing, and returned victorious with some fish fillets. After cooking them, they did not make us sick, and they changed status properly. They still need to change the name so it doesn't say "raw" all the time, but that's pretty minor.

 

One issue that we encountered tonight is that we were unable to fish from the same pond at the same time. We could both begin the action, but anytime we checked our fishing rods it would say we moved and pulled the bait :( Fishing one at a time worked fine, though.

Ok a friend of mine with regards to the BE issue found a fix...at least for him. 

 

He switched back to stable, let it download and he was able to play no problem. He then OPTED back into Experimental, it downloaded and he can now play. 

 

Hope this helps anybody. I'm in the process of trying this right now.

I thought of doing that, but my internet is shit. Don't fancy downloading 800mb for nothing. Will be interested to see if it works.

 

In any case I suspect a fix will be released soon, since this seems to be related to today's update.

I can confirm for my friend and myself that switching back to stable, loading it up and connecting to a server; then re-download Experimental fixed my issues with getting into a EXP serve tonight.

I had lots of weapon and magazine duplication issues. The guns or magazines look like they are put away or thrown but stay in your inventory, til its time to use them. Then they dont work. They dissappear on relog but the issue appeared almost immediately with a new magazine.

Some error as soon as I start it saying some BUllshit about performance 3d error , I got that on .59 experimental but was able to start it ... Now it gives me that error I press ok and then it takes literally 15 mins to load the game , if I press anything it crashes , I wait the minutes and finally get into the game and onto a server which takes another fifteen minutes .. What is going on , why is this happening after todays patch ? Can't even play experimental and I can hardly get into stable aervers .

Edit : now getting into a stable server hangs at "waiting for host" while on my desktop it has that black command console box open saying BE is updating and my mouse is completely gone after its done , it restarts dayz on its own and gives the same performance 3d error and continues to take a long ass time to load in ...

Try updating your video card driver. I did this tonight after switching from experimental to stable and back and the game loaded just fine after doing so. Sounds silly but it might help you.
