  1. Hello, Is it possible for me to change the default time it takes for a dead body to despawn? Also is it possible to change the amount of time your character stays in the world before you logout (more than 15 seconds)?

    Despawn time of dead players

I would also be interested in knowing if you could modify this for a community server. I am also looking to see if you can modify the logout timer to make a character stay longer than the 15 seconds until it despawns when you quit.

    With BETA comes modding

I have been wondering if modding and server hosting willl be available with Experimental 0.63? Or will it come with Stable 0.63? Or will it come soon after initial 0.63 release? As far as I know the Dev's have not said.
  4. Unfortunately no matter how you cut it. Hopping servers is just a bad and unsolvable issue when it comes to PvP fighting. This is why non-hived private servers are going to be servers that will have more realism and less exploited tactics such as server hopping for player advantage reasons.
  5. As someone mentioned in that reddit thread. There is already a huge advantage of people shooting from trees at far distance. Having the eye zoom helps with spotting, without it it would be much harder.

Set Launch to always start x64 bit DayZ?

I guess I forgot about the old school method of just using a shortcut. Thats what I will do. So used to just launching everything from the Steam menu.
  7. I have to say the already reduced zoom I found to be pretty annoying, especially when using ironsights. I was hoping it would return to the full Arma style zoom that was seen in the mod. A complete removal is unacceptable.

Official server "Dayz UK 5-50" closed ?

I am unsure what happened in this instance, however in the past official servers do close sometimes or reset. This should be unacceptable but does happen. Often times the reason is someone buys a server so they simply take an official one down and host it as private.

Set Launch to always start x64 bit DayZ?

Obviously I know this. However I usually start it through the taskbar feature which runs it be x32 by default. I am wondering how to basically always force it to only run x64
  10. That's basically right. I would recommend reading the dev blog explaining why its in the game. See below. I think the Dev's should reread what Jan has to say to figure out why eye zoom should stay in place and why it is realistic. At least as a compensation for monitor size and field of view.
  11. Is there a launch option parameter or something I can edit to always have DayZ launch in x64? By default DayZ always launches 32 bit for me, many times not asking whether to switch to x64.
  12. Various permadeath server ideas have been talked about. I can't wait to see any implementation of them once Beta and server hosting comes out.
  13. With the patch implementing the new server browser that only shows player count as "Low", "Medium", or "High", the Dev team made an effort to make the game more unpredictable and sort of eliminate people who would loot on servers by themselves and then jump on a full server to PVP. Not only that but they also eliminated the in-game player count screen. So there is no in-game way to tell how many people on the server there are exactly, and this is how it should be for an immersive survival game like this one. There are of course 2 problems, one of which I think can be solved easily as perhaps a server Admin option. Trackers such as DayZSpy or GameTracker use what most multiplayer online games use, they receive information freely from the IP of the server, which broadcasts information such as the player count and their in-game names. Thats why DayZSpy shows your DayZ name and not your steam name. For most games, a player population server count is useful and does not effect the gameplay. But for a game like this it should be disabled, or at least made an option to be disabled so that players would properly be unable to know if they are truly alone. The other problem is of course more difficult, because the decision was made to integrate with the Steam server system. This means that even if you were to disable the above third-party websites from obtaining information, you are still able to see who is on the server by viewing the players in your current session through steam, where the players are identified by their Steam name. Because of steam policies and whatever the agreement might say between Bohemia Interactive and Valve, this may be difficult to disable at this point. These 2 issues severely compromise the developers intention to disable showing any sort of player counts in game. The developers should look into disabling the above options. As it simply just means experienced players who wish to gain an advantage by looting on empty servers will continue to do so with ease, while new players are even more clueless. It also means that once a player finds out about these services, some of the immersion is broken as it is known that many people use these services to track players and server populations, which is an unintentional and bad 'meta-game' within DayZ.

Q&A with Map Designer Adam Franců

Adam Franců is the creator of Namalsk and he recently confirmed an updated Namalsk map will be in DayZ SA, most likely as a mod.
