Not sure if they were hunting the elk or this is a bug. I tried firing my gun and running toward the sound of the calls but the server starting rubber-banding so I logged out.  Anyway it was night and very creepy!

So close to a screenshot!  That wolf is one elusive woodland creature.

If you go back a few pages, I posted about some tests I did with persistent containers, most notable the barrels.

On 3 different servers I've set up barrels, and they all disappeared within 10-15 minutes.

I did one last attempt yesterday, and the same thing happened. Although the barrel wasn't there anymore, not visible or accessible, there was an "object" blocking the way. I tried re-logging to see if it would appear again, but no, it didn't.

I've had a tent for about 3-4 days now and it's been there every time I've went to it's location. I'll also try my luck with barrels and see if what happens when I place one.

So I played a few hours this weekend on the kids account and died more times than I have in my last thousand hours due to the elements no less, loving it. I could live without the constant "session lost" but otherwise this is getting back to what I paid for again.

My desktop is retired to a net terminal because I couldn't get the vid card to recognize so I'm playing on an old HP laptop  with a very bare install of 7 and the performance is acceptable and seems to get better as the game continues to look better so that's nice.

I've been just yoloing around without a map and I see there's some map changes I haven't heard about so it's a refreshing journey of discovery, like I've visited  Chenarus years ago and came back for a visit just in time for the apocalypse, I get lost for a bit then see something I recognize.

I can confirm I heard wolves last night but was in no shape to investigate or attempt to head towards the very random gunfire between my position and where I figured the howls were coming from. Found an infected on Skalatisy as well and he scared the shit out of me, though it was a player running in for the say nothing head punch. Their path-finding and movement seems to be improved a bit a lot less jerky than I'm used to.

Just adding a few shots from yesterday. Helped a few survivors in Cherno on 1PP, made my "hero" skin on 3PP and ran a few more tests with barrels. So far I love 0.61 but the only thing I miss is the other animals. Can't wait to have the boar back in game again.

Barrel test. Took 20 minutes looking at for it to vanish, and leave a physical "imprint" with collision, although totally invisible and un-accessible.

Food is way scarcer now than before and its great. You realy need to work for it. Also getting wet is now a big problem as it can kill you really quick. Its managable though so another really good thing.

 Don't like that the voip icon won't show up. If you're like me and talking shit by yourself all the time it gets kinda awkward if you leave it on.

I found a blue at the barn at the north end of Novy Lug, and moved it a few hundred meters. I then ran back where I got it and picked up my double-carry gun, logged out and back in, and returned 7 minutes later to find that the barrel had disappeared.

I suspect their persistence setting is messed up.

Haha I leave my mic on when talking shit in game half the time anyway. Sometimes I'll go through cities singing with the mic open just for the hell of it xD. Really like having a mic icon though.

@IMT It looks like you owe me some beanz.  It was the pack straight North of Altar, about 900 meters, that I encountered; I killed three, and one or two left.  They circled me up pretty fast, but didn't really pose much of a threat to my AKM.  Kinda sad.  Video to follow later tonight...

Right. Rain is absolutely lethal. This is fine except that I seem to get drenched in seconds, which leads to hypothermia within minutes. I died twice to hypothermia (with my face planted in a fire to try and keep warm) despite my best efforts to avoid the rain. Made a fire in a house and had to keep it burning with sticks. Decided to explore a little bit - mainly hunting for bushes to chop up, and ran into a random house occupied by somebody who was also trying to keep warm. Didn't even try to kill me, we just sat and played with the new light effects.

Eventually the rain stops, I'm no longer cold, I head off. Then I get caught in the rain again. Damp - wet - drenched before I can find a tree to stand under. I'm also starving and thirsty, so my hopes aren't high.

Clothing in general needs a higher waterproof value. It seems like everything that isn't a raincoat may as well be a sponge.

I am enjoying it though. The challenge is welcome.

I`m worried about the clunkiness at the moment related to aiming with your weapon with a scope or without - it is far from smooth at the moment. I`m not sure if there are issues with the animation of the weapon or something else, but don`t release this 0.61 on stable yet, because aiming with a weapon now feels really clunky when u look around in different directions almost like lag.

 

However loot table looks much better, and I think you fix some of the clone item issues - I`ve still spotted couple of sks`s in the same deer though, but it looks better with the new patch, well done! :)

I seldom find any 9 mm. ammo or winchester though, or long range scopes! ))

I was thinking this is network related. Is it possible that positional updating is different when weapon is raised?

Hey I havent had time to hop on yet, but does anybody know if Vintorez ammo is spawning more frequently than in .60? 

Also that wolves video up above looks awesome! Looks like theyve done a great job with it.

I haven't played as much as some others here lately but I can say that after looting a few different military bases I saw none.

This fellow (jester something...) was lucky to have ran into our mostly neutral crew in such abrupt manner.

He was escorted politely by my comrades to a jail cell, had his belongings picked over, and was sent on his way unharmed.

About 4 hours of mostly stable play tonight.

Without much trouble I was able to link up with emuthreat, starvingart, Kohlbar, and HighLight.

Server stability was enough for longer testing sessions but I did see many of the more well documented bugs. Shuddering/shifting during interactions with structures and infected being the most immediately troublesome.

I'm not sure if night looks any different but I liked how dark it was, even at the expense of screenshots.

I put in some good work with a Magnum and Shotgun combo before finding an Aug and a couple mags.

Loot tables are funky, I'm not sure what I'm seeing in the patterns of item spawn.

emu reported seeing completely stationary infected at 500+ meters, which is an old issue.

The UI, hot bar, and vaulting have improved.

4 well armed players had only minor difficulties with infected at NWA. There's a place I hope we will see more spawning in the future.

Some of the guys bagged some venison and beef steaks and after a cold wet day survived we filled our bellies before retiring....
