Exp Update: 0.59 (+hotfix).

1.0 GB? I guess new map? Check Cherno Harbor someone!

Hmm, could be. Even just cleaning up things that are currently out of place (buildings too high/too low, floating plants and hay bales, etc.) would require a complete re-download of the map I believe. Definitely possible, given how many tickets in the Feedback Tracker Changelog for 0.59 are related to exactly that :)

Didn't Hicks mentionned before that they worked a bit on the northwest region of the map as well for future placement of a new base?

Can't join, seems the servers run a different version. Tried with old ui, too. No game.

>>EDIT - another update loading for client now!

Too many suggestions and arguments last few pages. Keep that mess to the stable forums. The bulk of us are here to test, not whine or make suggestions. There are threads for that, and they get spammed often enough.

Okay, first of all dsync is great for me, which means literally non-existant. I press jump - I jump, even when I'm running. Good sign! However, my first problem arose when I wanted to use my Skorpion on a Zombie. I was aiming at it, my mag said 20/20 and my gun said: "click". Switched the mag out with another full one: "clickclickclick". All while I had locked myself into a house with an infected, which kept hitting me. In the end I was forced to use the nailed bat.

I tried recombining the 380 ammo, tried emptying the mags and reloaded them, but the Skorpion won't work it seems. Everything, including mags, is pristine, so that's a bug! The SKS worked fine, everything else works fine, it seems.

I don't know if he said that personally, but I can verify that the terrain of the northwest corner has been reworked. GaryWalnuts was the first to spot that change, I believe.

While I do agree with the bulk of what you're saying, sometimes the things we encounter in Experimental can lead to some great suggestions (and conversation regarding those ideas). The vast majority of it belongs elsewhere, but be careful not to dismiss it all in one sweeping statement ;)

I'm ready for the New UI to be optimized and show its' status effects more appropriately. This is kind of my only concern at the moment xD I don't find many bugs I can't troubleshoot eventually (Which actually, in some strange way, makes it immersive to me) lol/

Yeah, and unfortunately new people to the game think they somehow have all new suggestions that the rest of us haven't heard or thought of in the last 3+ years of DayZ discussion.

I get really really tired of repeat suggestions from these types but I try to just tune it out and let them think they are original.

Sometimes in the past I will link to the similar topics already made but lately it's easier and easier to ignore.

I get burnt out on it, and I can only imagine the amount of eye rolling the mods do.

Did not notice any major changes from the last update. Everything I tried seemed to work fine.

I found an offroad on DE2. Anybody up for a wheel search?  :D

There's definitely some terrain changes, hills and valleys, some pond areas (but no new water yet).

There's also some flat clearings where it's obvious that houses or garages will be eventually.

The dirt roads have changed a bit and some new ones have been cut in.

Most of the cement slabs that have been there forever are now removed completely and replaced with hills and a few large open plateaus.

It's still messy though, standing trees and bushes in the roads, random dead ends etc.

There's no new houses, sheds,  wells, apple trees, a single street sign or even any new water yet, so the only reason I would suggest going up there is

a) just plain curiosity, or

b) to actually get lost for a while - which can be quite refreshing (bring plenty of water)

Just be glad that new players are trying to be helpful and present ideas, man. It's not a bad thing for someone to do so, even if it turns out to be something that has been thought of. There may be an element that someone brings to the table that no one else has ever thought of - and that's important. We're a community, we're meant to help each other and to guide this game to its' highest peaks.

Discouraging others isn't the way to do so. If it burns you out or tires you to see these suggestions, then simply look away. Not hard to do.

Cheer on the little guys and get off a high horse (that doesn't exist). We're all in this together, until negativity enters the realm and it causes a player to leave.

Eek, yeah.. I was losing a lot of mags trying to put them into weapons. Unable to put on mods etc. I'll see how it is now. When you are Healthy/healing.. what message will the player make?

No bad news, is good news. Lol.  You just have to get a feel for it, I'm sure more information will be available as they fix the status icons, but I'm rather liking the current state of very little info.

No offense but cool story, bro.

You care WAY more than the average person here about the games actual progress and improvement.

And that's fucking awesome.

I never discourage but URGE everyone to READ, READ, lurk, use the search function, READ, and then read some more.

I often encourage and make a public example of new members who contribute well. (Where's Veyda and Ebrim these days?)

A large swath of the regulars in experimental are relatively new.

We get some great new people but also a whole lot of people that experience DayZ in a bubble and understand little about the project, even after 1,000's of hours of play.

Anyone been to Cherno yet? I'd be interested to know if the harbor has been expanded and about that new area near the school (parking lot). I'm too far north to make it there tonight. I'm not sure - it seems there are a few more lakes now in the forest. I'm not sure I saw this one before (and there were more):

Excellent camping spots! It also seems to me that I can see structures (houses, etc.) from further away now, despite not having changed any settings, The downside to this seems that some models, especially some bushes and pine trees seem to stay low res for a long time, until I can see the detail model.

It's not that I don't understand your perspective, and I am newer so perhaps that does influence my own sight of things, but I'm truly in love with this game and this community. I want to see great things for everyone and for the game to really become the jewel we know it can be. Sometimes it just needs some spit and shine.

I definitely agree to READ and READ. I have made plenty of mistakes in not doing so with certain suggestions and in the way I play - But the beauty is, that I'm still learning. . and as the game progresses, even our veterans will be doing so as well.

Again, I hope you didn't read into that post as an attack towards yourself - I rather like your perspective on things when I read through the posts - I just can't help but approach everything with as much positivity as possible and KNOW that we all care about this game deeply. . Or hell, we wouldn't be testing an Alpha hehe.

Is anyone still seeing desync of items between different clients? I'd imagine that to be a solid blocker.

To be clear, I mean one person sees item X on the ground, the next guy doesn't see anything.

I saw this a few times with Mean Gun Morris, maybe a patch or two ago.

He'd see an off-roader with 4 tires on it and I'd only see 3, or he'd be working on the car a meter or two from where I was working on it.

I'm hoping to meet up with Dudester in a few, if we both survive the journey I'll do some barrel rolls and we'll see if we see the same things in the same places.
