Me and a mate took all the wheels off a truck (except the middle ones, they wouldn't come off) and upon server restart the wheels were back on, only we couldn't remove them anymore. A tyre lug is not needed is it?  We didn't need one when we took em off the day before.

Yup, just like A3/A2/etc vehicles.

 

I experienced this first hand over the weekend when my friend thought it would be funny to mag dump his AKM at the truckbed while I was driving. -_-

This new? Never had it happen before.

 

Lit a fire at night, while i tabbed to grab my canteen, everything went black and the fire went to embers. it was a brand new fire that HAD flames. it was completely black, i couldn't find my way out of the barn i was in. i had to relog and even then it was only light enough to find the exit and as i walked out, everything went black again. total darkness. i had to run away from the barn for a second before the regular night time lighting was back and i could turn around to see the fire light coming out of the barn door.

I had this happen to me since the camp fires were first implemented, and before that, using a gas lamp. It'll change once we get the new renderer. How, I don't know, but it'll be different for sure. It will get balanced eventually.

This got mentioned earlier... seems it was a known bug. If you take a wheel off and replace it... then the server restarts you can't take that same wheel off again. In your case, with the wheels spawning in separately I suspect the same would be true.

Wish they'd make tents harder to spot.  Right now, the're pretty worthless on anything but low pop/stash servers.

My thoughts exactly. We need smaller tents, nettings etc.

 

Anyway! Despawning is working well right now, in fact its working brutally well. Everything that is not an ammo box, tent or barrel will get despawned within 30-60 minutes max if I would have to guesstimate.

Farewell backpack stashes or hidden weapons.

Ugh, had the worst thing happened to me. When I was at the NWAF the power blacked out and it went out when I was in one of the tents.

Went on a empty server to make sure I was save. Saw no one over there and I was there for approximately an hour.

My G.I. Joe character is almost done now. Found a bi-pod for my M4A1 which I lost last time when painting the thing.

Also finally found my Smersh vest! :D Only looking for an Olive M65 Jacket or a Spring Hunter Jacket, not sure yet which one I'll go with.

Will post a screenshot when I'm done with my gear. After that I will build a big city! :lol:

 

If you flipped a truck, shoot all of its tires except maybe the two central ones and it will get flipped at the restart. If you destroy it I dont know. Possibly just spawn in repaired again at the restart, thats how its been as far as I know.

I wanted to get a black raincoat and some black hat for ideal demonstration :P whats he wearing?

By the way, maybe its just me but I barely had any camp lag anymore at my little camps. Used to lagout horribly with a truck. And hotfix aint even live :o

The vehicles have static spawn points so everyone knows immediately where to go when there is a wipe. When the server restarts, they remain in the same location as they are currently in. They could be anywhere really .. at camps or crashed and abandoned.

Then I'm disappointed in the people. All the spawn I went to still had trucks (Lopatino & Vybor). I'm sure the 2 trucks at Vavilovo would be there as well.

 

Of course we definitely would like to give people methods for camouflaging their tents. Out the gate, civilian gear is designed for visibility.

I don't think that is true, you just have to know where to put them. We have a method. Last tent lasted 14 days on a server that is full every night. Hid a green barrel under a tree on the same server - gone after 24hrs.

I thought my intentions were a little more obvious :D the post was meant to illustrate how half the "black items" arent even black, but instead crimson / different shades of brown :P the "black" raincoat woulda topped it off there. Literally not a single black item looking identical. nice outfit he has there tho

Seems to be m4s and other high end guns in preponderance. Dunno if it's duping or not but it's a bit out of control.

Also I'd take suppressors out of the game completely. There are almost 300 million guns in america but probably a few thousand silencers. And they'd mainly be in the hands of specialised military.

There are some people who duped tents so I wouldn't be surprise me if people duped M4A1's.

I will search the internet for duping methods, test them and report them.

Damn, and I had a pretty mega base going on. Barrels, tents, trucks, walls, buildings and all storage capacity was full to the brim. Glad I took some screen shots last night  :lol:

 

Not sure I have the energy to do it all over again, especially since it'll just get wiped again before long. Probably just do a mini camp this time.

I'm going to see if we can reproduce it tonight or this afternoon. It happened to us too but for the life of me I can't go back and find that conversation where it was discussed. We have a truck and a server so we'll take a tire off, put it back on and restart the server... see where we end up. We can try a couple different options- moving tires around... removing them completely and letting the restart repopulate them... 

 

In exchange for this generous donation of time and enthusiasm I ask for nothing more than getting the stuff we lost in the wipe back. Oh don't thank me. Thank the book on high stakes negotiating that I just speed read!

Why do you have so many suppressors?

 

In Canada, a device to muffle or stop the sound of a firearm is a "prohibited device" under the Criminal Code.[39] A prohibited device is not inherently illegal in Canada but it does require an uncommon and very specific prohibited device license for its possession, use, and transport. Suppressors cannot be imported into the country by civilians;[40] special licensing is required for businesses to import and sell suppressors, and they are typically only available to law enforcement, conservation agencies, and the military.

 

 

In the Russian Federation, usage of firearm suppressors (legally defined as "devices for noiseless shooting") by civilians is prohibited, and the dealers are prohibited from selling them, but there is no penalty for purchasing or possession of such devices.[38] The law lacks any straight definition of what a "device for noiseless shooting" is, or what decibel level is considered to be "noiseless", therefore it is completely up to the expert investigating the device whether it would be considered a "device for noiseless shooting" or not. suppressors in dayz should be rarer than m4's imo.

 

tbh though my objection isn't about realism it's about game play. It's cool to have a suppressed weapon but it's not cool to play against.

Ye silencers give an enormous tactical advantage and I strongly believe they will be toned down in availability soon enough.

 

Right now its just a fest of loot cyclers and duping is always prevalent. You can pretty much count on tons of m4s being in circulation once a patch has been live for a couple weeks. Was especially obvious in i.e. 54 where EVERYONE had either AKM or M4 or in the coastal warfare patch where you could find 10 m4s every city.

That doesn't sound crazy.  Its been in the game for a few patches that if you drive in a vehicle your character's position will not be updated on the hive until you exit the vehicle.  This was a pain back when the servers were restarting very frequently - needed to get out of the truck every few towns or so or else you go back to the last place you were not in a truck.  You just got a case of bad fortune in timing I think.

 

are the characters visible at the spot you entered the truck? because i just remember i had a really weird experience where i saw a truck went out of my own truck to see if there is a glow plug in the truck, got a no messages received but i entered the truck somehow, drove it to the next city, and just after the moment i exit the car i got the black Dead screen. can it be because of this?

I dunno, IRL, I can drive a few miles and buy one of these.  Wouldn't think suppressors would be such a big deal...

Last 2 times I've made an improvised knife, my hands have glitched to where I couldn't hold anything. I can't remember if I pressed 'x' on my hands after making the knife or if it went directly to my inventory, I just know that after improvised knife was in my inventory, I couldn't hold anything. Dragging items over my hands would show the item in red and not allow me to hold. Got me killed last time. Dang it!

Best method to fix this besides logging is to start a longer animation involving the use of an item.

 

Example: Right click a rag and select the "use" option. After the animation starts for the bandaging, drag and drop the item you're trying to equip over the rag in hand. Then right click the rag in your inventory, and if it wasnt used, cancel the action.

Will the wheather stay the way it is atm for a longer period of time? Seems like the server decides on restart if it's a rainy or sunny day. In my case it kept raining for 5 hours...after the first 2 I died by Hypothermia - all heatpacks and fireplaces weren't able to rescue me . Finally we stopped playing for today - 5 hours of rain is enough :D  What do you think would be a good weather-rotaion? Maybe a random decision between sun/rain every 1 or 2 hours?

 

 

Did you also had crashes with a crash-mesage about memory reffering to ...?

In my opinion it's a good point there

I personally think that during each night / day cycle to add to the survival aspect of the game should be 40% raining chances in every 4 hour cycle... Would probably take away some of the camping forcing people to move fast and stay warm at the same time... I personally never forget to bring a raincoat along in any long trip i have planned !! 

I do like the experimental day/night cycle !!! If they could randomize the raining chances properl + volumetric fog and various conditions it could lead to a nice immersive atmosphere !!!
