For driving realism aspect Assetto Corsa will do. PUBG is for speedy quick action rounds gameplay. DayZ is for immersive natural survival and realism, voice communication (DayZ is very good way to practice speking in English (when you actually are able to meet someone)), epic unforgettable heart rate rising battles.... But for a while it wasn't working. vehicles is minor problem IMO, the main thing is interactions with other people. There definitelly shouldn't be too many vehicles atound, because if everybody will be driving, and I guess it would actually reduce interactions, and no one will be running at all, it is going to be weird too. But now it is just too low, obviously. Looking forward for this act of balance to kick in.

Honestly, I think the others dragged it out of me moreso... I know I can't get a refund anymore. I'd like to, but I can't. The main point behind the entire thread was thus anyways, but the loyal followers just couldn't see that not everything is roses in DayZ. Some points may have been stressed to exaggeration. Still, I stand by my posts and what I've said... I understand poor communication, I've watched projects go up in smoke over it... Great projects went down in flames because nobody could figure out what the fuck was going on... If communication is an issue, then I suggest Bohemia restructure its leadership at the DayZ wing, because it very well could cost them the project, especially this late in the game... I've read about where it's heading... I've read about benchmarks from years ago that have yet to be met... I've read about the history of the development... Sure, there's a whole lot more stuff in DayZ than there was four years ago, but there's still a lot of broken things that seem to be not addressed at all, and instead just sort of buried under all the useless stuff like books and seed packets and drivable vehicles.... Boom. You just proved my point from my very first (and second) post(s) in the thread. How do you know I enjoyed it? Further, how much time did I say I have spent on DayZ? Because I specifically made it a point to NOT answer that question, if you recall.... In fact, I'll even pull out the quote for you below, because you've proven my point oh so perfectly: Funny how the handful of devotees rush to start bailing water, even though they know they're going down.... Me, I done already grabbed a life jacket and made it to shore already... Would be nice if I could recoup the costs... But it's whatever at this point... Still, I agree with the OP... It's not that I need the money... It's that I would gladly take the refund if offered.... That was, in fact, the original point of the thread, after all..... As for years gone by, I didn't just buy games willie-nillie, and I never did read reviews.... I always either let my friends be the ones to buy games on release and then find out they sucked, or I'd rent them first... Unfortunately, rental has gone by the wayside, and I can't have a DayZ weekend rental (that actually would be REALLY helpful for people who want to try it, but are unsure if they want to part with 30 whole dollars). Had I been able to spend two dollars to rent DayZ for a weekend, I know I wouldn't have paid for the early access... Though, that may very well be a good thing for Bohemia. Also, I've gotten far more than 20 hours out of most of the games I own, even the ones with little to no replayability... In fact, DayZ is the first game I actually genuinely feel "burned" on... Like I said, I won't be... I was already burned by Bohemia once, why the hell would I let them burn me twice? Like I said, on the highly unlikely chance they give early access players a copy of 1.0 for free, I might come back and sniff around a little bit... But since there's no chance of that, I won't be... There's a good chance it'll never get finished anyway. It's already an old game, long gone from the pages of the magazines and the minds of the consumers, and worse, has disgruntled many players in the process. At this point, it would be difficult to sell 1.0, and after four more years of development, it will be all but impossible... The marketing math just doesn't add up, and it will continue to get worse as DayZ ages. Maybe people will get it in a $3.99 Bohemia bundle with all the Arma's... But DayZ as a standalone product will be difficult to sell in the future, made all the more difficult as time passes... I have to admit, though, you guys have me laughing at these... X)

Drive the vehicles in PUBG, totally realistic...............
-
Damn this is special game lol Really have to stop doing premature conclusions, and don't go mad. So it's the wait time. When Devs mentioned that 0.63 is the time when they actually STARTS making a game made me really happy. Really curious to see whats up in the future. As for greater count of vehicles, I think it would work well, because many of them would get stripped out, so it would be challenging enough anyway. Yes.... bases and largely populated servers doesn't mix @TikTactical I have been thinking that it would need some special approach, can't wait to see what devs will come up with. I love the usual dayZ (as long as you get thing happening not too rarely), I would also really like to have clans system in DayZ, so I could join as particular clan member and have a place to defend, build, and have guaranteed interactions without worries of asking if someone is friendly or not. Well, if not, then thats idea for a mod though :) Can't wait for 100peeps servers, and better balanced vehicles :)

The biggest problems with vehicles are cause by players at this time. The aforementioned lack of parts, the things that happen when YOU OR I crash said vehicle, and the handful of other players on a hi-pop who come to kill you and take the vehicle. It is true that certain always full private servers are hell to try to keep a motor pool on, and I can only hope that camouflage netting will help this in the future. As with everything in DayZ lately, I say you need to choose ONE OR TWO SERVERS, and make yourself a home. If you can get a couple of trucks and one of each civilian vehicle, and stash them someplace relatively safe, you should have no problem keeping yourself flush with working vehicles.
-
And THANK YOU for NOT being insanely narrow-minded when it comes to responses having different opinions than yours, it is gladly appreciated. I don't use vehicles all that much myself at the moment either, but I do use them when I establish bases far up north. Although I haven't made one in .62 yet. We can both agree with the fact that the vehicles aren't 100% functional and definitely needs work, but I still find them useful, it just depends on the situation, and what my plan is for my character at a given time. And one thing about being lonely, the dev team is planning to have 100 player servers (which I personally find crazy if you want to build a base but hey) so you'll have plenty of peeps around to interact with. :p
-
Well, as you already said, it's a goal for you. I don't understand what the problem is then? Sure, the vehicles might not be in the best position at the moment but if someone took a vehicle apart, it gives you a mission, a goal. Who knows, maybe you get killed while trying to get that thing together. That is DayZ right there. And in the end, if you drive away in your vehicle which took a while to put together, you're going to feel like a boss. Cars in the mod were a big thing and even the developers stated that vehicles are going to play a vital part in DayZ and so it will be. And it also totally makes sense to find a stripped car. Wouldn't you take a battery from another car in real life, in an apocalypse if you need one? That leaves the one you took it from without a battery. This means that the next person who comes across this car needs to find a new battery in order to get the thing working.

Don't make this thread about me pls its enough And I do play every new iteration, soon after release. To check if game changed. It didn't, I'm still not getting any experience from the game, or it is way too rare. I always thought that dayz needs more game pace (except when crazy loot spawned at he coast, it was a bit too much then), but it was somehow enough, often just right, but since certain point it became very lonely. So I think more mobility would be useful now. I do have to apologize for not knowing that vehicles are now spawning fully operational, I had no chance of knowing that, because i had no luck of finding one.

They idea is to reduce running speed later on as more vehicles will be available (and less buggy of course) to us, the players so you're on the right track when it comes to that, however at the moment vehicles aren't stable enough to reduce running speed a lot. You mention the patience and knowledge in the beginning of your post, which I totally get. I myself am very interested in development of the game, but that is also what you're supposed to be if you're playing DayZ. The developers don't recommend buying the game just to play as it was a newly released Bethesda title. They want us to play the game to do large-scale bug testing and actively support development of the game. The idea behind DayZ is to create your own story and not go by a story that is laid out for you, again I'm seeing you having a different vision than what DayZ Vanilla is and will be in the future (as you seemingly also agreed on yourself) :). The decrease in players I personally think is tied to the long time between updates, because they are now adding in the big features of the new Enfusion engine ( such as the renderer in .60, part of the new sound system, visual overhaul technology in .62, and coming by the end of the year; .63 with the BETA release of DayZ and the animation system and physics engine + a lot of other things that I wont bother you with here). This has led to long periods with no updates, because of back-bone tech implementation. Now this is only a thought, because no one can definitively say for sure, that's impossible. DayZ has been out for a while now, and I see some players (including myself) with many thousands of hours in DayZ, but I still enjoy the game, because the vision of DayZ is exactly what I'm looking for and I'll gladly help as much as I can in development (I literally submitted a crash report in between these two responses), but for the casual player, that just want to play a finished game I will STRONGLY suggest that you please wait playing the game until it's done and/or modding comes in. There's no need for frustrations if you/some people can't handle them. That's completely understandable. The plan is to develop Enfusion with as little hard-coded stuff as possible so that the modding possibilities are bigger than ever seen on Bohemia Interactive games before, so I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when modding comes around. My thought is that you must be in some sense interested in the game one way or another, and I can only say that you wait until the game is in a more finished state, it clearly bothers you, which is completely understandable, but that is how development is I'm afraid, and the whole reason DayZ is on Early Access is to help the Dev Team. I hope my wall of text was of some sort of use, if not.. Well shit :D -TikTac'

Saying cars are useless I find like a statement of your lack of knowledge/inexperience of driving vehicles in the game. While, yes the vehicles can definitely be buggy (alpha, hello? alpha? anyone? no? just me?), they aren't finished yet and have a whole lot of work being done right now for .63, That being handling, collisions, physics, suspension system etc.. Now with that said, the vehicles spawn fully repaired and with a tire repair kit and lug wrench in the boot for you, which means that repairing the parts (that should be pristine, unless someone has tinkered with the vehicle), is even easier than it should be! Now this isn't intentional of course, but as of right now it's a work around as they get the last engine implementation in (Enfusion), and can start crushing the bugs that they aren't capable of fixing on the old tech (or rather, it takes too long and wastes time). They have even implemented the temporary fix of using a matchbox to destroy a vehicle so it'll properly re-spawn so you don't find as many stuck cars in riverbeds, forest areas etc. I drive vehicles myself too, and I really don't have bad issues with the vehicles, if you think like it was real-life and wanted to drive a vehicle, you would be fine. Don't have the pedal to the metal, because it simply wont work! Use the roads, avoid walls/objects, and remember that the vehicles use a manual transmission (somehow people still don't know about this for some reason). Now you mentioned a few things about you: "figuring out you didn't want the vehicle in the first place" or "you don't want to play DayZ anymore for the night", well that isn't really something that the devs can fix for you I'm afraid. The game has always been envisioned to be "a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game" (yeah, it says right there.. Right there on the steam store page), I think the problem might be laying in the fact that, what you're actually looking forward to, is modding - and not the vanilla game my friend. The game is envisioned differently than what your thoughts is it would seem. I'm sure there will be several mods out there that will make the game just the way you want it, but I don't think the vanilla game is for you, out from what I can read in this post. Have a great day, and remember: The only useful criticism, is constructive. -TikTac'

Bobby 38 Willing to help answer questions online here or on reddit u/Valdark2 Also willing to help in game when I'm on which is mostly 10pm-4am CST Monday-Thursday though I'm sometimes available during the day as well. Ive moved to mostly playing official servers but willing to establish myself elsewhere if need be. Im not typically combat centric but do love running as a dedicated medic/zed control if there is a group that needs such things. I also dont don't mind maintaining and transporting vehicles if I know someone will make use of them.

To be honest, this makes far more sense.... It would groove well with possible professions or something, where you'd get a small initial boost (to make it fair, the boost would just bring a newly-spawned character's skill in say arrow making for hunters to 10 instead of 0) to some crafting profession depending on which character you spawned... Further, at least it gives a little bit of backstory as well... How exactly does the character find themself in Chernarus? They just wake up one day, in the middle of nowhere, thirty years after the fall of humankind? I mean, with the way the vehicles and houses and such are worn and overgrown, clearly the Zombocalypse in Chernarus was a good many years ago... Like, at the very least, a decade ago, unless Chernarussians just stopped doing home maintenance, yardwork, manufacturing/importing cars, repairing cars, all construction projects just came to a dead HALT a decade ago, etc..... Shit, even the helicopter crashes look like they were trying to fly a heli that crashed 30 years ago... (Hey, maybe that's why they crashed!) :P Spawning naked with nothing sounds like more aggravation from an already aggravating game.... I'd much rather see the suggestion quoted, tbqh... :)

1. Here is the map that literally shows every vehicle spawn point: https://www.izurvive.com/ 2. I'm leaving that one alone.. 3. Then you have no context to even make a post like this.. what are you doing? 4. When I go looking for a vehicle, I find one in 30-60 mins. While looting around, so not JUST looking for car. This is EVERY time on newest build. 5. It is completely worth it, if you find a vehicle. Once you know how to drive them properly, and understand how they work (with parts, etc.) its quite easy and very rewarding to drive around Chernarus. 6. Right now, all of the vehicles are made for testing purposes. So RUINED items do not affect it too much. You do not need glow plugs for trucks, ruined batteries work for all vehicles, and tires dont matte accept you have less traction with ruined tires. Next time you make a post like this.. maybe play a little first, try to get some context.. and always remember this game is in development. It changes quickly and often. This whole post shows you have not played lately, and therefore makes no sense at all to even put up. You wasted your time, and everyone else who visited this thread. Since you literally did not know what you were talking about. :)
-
op, I think you need to go find where the whaaaaaambulances spawn. vehicles are fine. they work just like real-life ones - don't drive like an idiot and you stay on the road.
-
The vehicles always work better and more realistic. Realistic is that we can not drive as with GTA .. no, the vehicles react better to different influences and surfaces (I drive for 25 years cars, several times trucks and tanks IRL and you?). The vehicles are now very simple because they are complete with the Spawn (otherwise they are used or plundered). You have to be very careful with them to have long fun. And in the future it will again be as at 0.54 where you are hurt yourself or even dies when you have an accident. They will be something like gold in the future, but that does not have to understand everyone.
-
From your post it sounds like you haven't played since the vehicles are drivable when you find them in a spawn spot.
-
You sure? Could have sworn I've found freshly spawned vehicles with parts missing.
-
They really are useless. Agree with OP And if other players are stripping them out it doesn't defend the game. It just shows that game design has flaws. Maybe just simply increase vehicles spawn numbers, and it will be lesser issue. maybe when devs will actually want us to play DayZ then we'll see how quickly all these game breaker issues will vanish.
-
Trust me, it's not the developers, it's the players. They currently spawn working with every part in there, even the tires. It is the players who throw the parts and other items out. They're definitely not useless... ok the bus is. They all have a learning curve, the more you drive, the more you learn. I rarely wreck a vehicle because I got so many hours of practice in. At first always stay on the road, preferably paved roads. Once you get some experience and you know the area a bit you can try going off-road through fields. Another huge tip: stay out of forests or treelines with vehicles, you're going to get yours wrecked, 100 %. So they are spawning functional but this will not stay this way. It's currently this way so it makes testing easier but in the future they will probably spawn with random parts, which makes sense.
-
Like finding one isn't hard enough, there's always tires and other parts missing and you have to scavenge for an hour to make it work. And even then, it will break for no reason and all tires will explode. All that time you spent scavenging for parts down the drain. I remember when they first introduced vehicles, they always spawned drivable and they didn't break which made the game way more fun. Having no usable vehicles makes the game a chore when you have to do so much running. It just takes too much time to run on such a big map. I know the game is supposed to be hardcore and realistic but the current system is not realistic. It's just frustrating for no reason, vehicles don't break so easily and there's no reason they can't spawn with all parts intact more often. Are they planning on changing this or are they just gonna remain useless?

Not only will interactions be more smooth and believable. Your own approach to any potential interaction would be crucial to the outcome, as your intentions would be identifiable by your movement and overall behavior. With the lack of inertia and a stamina system everybody moves in an unrealistic manner, so you can only guess by whether or not the other player has a clown mask or a weapon drawn if he/she is hostile or not. Also, it doesn't really matter what conclusion you come to as the outcome of the interaction / altercation / fight / shoot-out will solely be a result of who has got the most rounds, semi- or fully automatic fire mode, or simply who is best at A-D-A-D twitching. With a system like this, the overall quality of- and skill required to do anything from planning the route of your next 2 km travel, how you tactically advance toward a popular loot spawn area, how you cautiously approach another player due to the high risk of him/her and the infected, hunting etc, will be raised to a rooftop bar standard. This will make you care about your character more, it will make you care about others more. It is the one and only pure and unconditional change the developers can make to DayZ that does not limit people's intentions, that does not turn DayZ in to a grind, that is fair and equal to everybody and would make the overall experience better for EVERYBODY. The only argument against the implementation of such a system I can appreciate is the increased time it would take to travel. However, this is a matter of patience on each player's behalf (I don't see how anyone with a short attention span can play DayZ, not even at its current state), and something that will not be an issue when vehicles, especially bicycles, are in. Then it would make even more sense to have such a system in place as the conscious decision of speeding up your travel by getting on a bicycle, or getting in to a car, would have to be weighed against the risk of giving away your position and having to stick to the main roads. Do you really believe that a stamina system would deter players from traveling long distances in Chernarus? I think it would do the complete opposite due to the fact that it would be a greater challenge, with greater rewards. When I last played, Cherno and Elektro was always full of players, while the rest of Chernarus was a barren wasteland. It seems like the supernatural ability to cover tremendous distances in no time at all by simply jamming down W with a toothpick, does not encourage players to do so. Maybe the developers should try something different? It seems like we do want the same thing, to some extent. I just do not see why seasoned DayZ players would have any reason to oppose (more) realistic movement in a game like DayZ. It is a conundrum, I tell you that. Edit; Maybe it is the classic fear of change that is such an uncomfortable thought for so many DayZ players. They have played this alpha for three years, and have become very good at it, and a change that would have them learn it all over again, and after all this time become equal to new players with hardcore "milsim" experience in other games such as EFT or Squad, would be a blow to their self-esteem... or something. I seriously can not figure this one out, it is just a mind-boggler.

How to bring RP and PVP in DayZ together - Trade Center
DR. IRISHMIKE posted a topic in General Discussion
For full article Why the DayZ Community needs a Trade Center on every server (from a =UN= Community point of view): I've been asked several times about the role of the =UN= and the Trading Center that will eventually be set up under the security team that will be assigned to protect it. The Trading Center is intended to be the RP hub of the =UN= Community and provide as safe an environment as possible to the players that enjoy that aspect of the game. I've had it mentioned that we have no problem putting 60/60 on our server everyday, so why be concerned about having any RP population on our server? There are two important reasons we need the RP community here teaming with our HardCore PVP community. First, DayZ is a deep game and our vision for the =UN= Community is to welcome all sorts of players, but to do so in a "no pvp rules" environment. Part of our server tags say "RP Encouraged" (alot of servers use those) but what does that really mean? To us, it means we want to hold events (RP & PVP) that enhance those play styles. For us, holding events and maintaining a Trade Center are the perfect way to attract more players to our server. As great as PVP is in DayZ, there is room for much much more in terms of players working together, interacting, and building places good for Chernarus like a Trade Base. This leads me to the second reason our server needs a healthy RP population. While its's currently easy to fill up 60/60 a day is coming soon where servers will jump to 75, 80, maybe even 100 player populations. When that day comes, and the game isn't as new, the server that has outstanding PVP and RP populations will be the last man standing, and that will be the =UN= Community Server. We will not whitelist our group and leave people out because they RP or PVP like other server groups do. We will be an inclusive group, not exclusive, and we will not create interaction rules requiring in game behaviors that benefit RPers or PVPers. People can play the game the way they want to play and not be unhindered in how they interact with others. As a community, we understand that the game is much more difficult to play as a friendly hero type player. The same is true of those that like to RP. The notion that these play styles make us more vulnerable is just a part of the game we love and an accepted threat we constantly face. Playing friendly, and having a base with a Trade Center present will only enhance the friendly mode of play that so many enjoy, and also allow those parts of our community to thrive and recruit more friendly based players to those groups. So while a kos type of group can have some immediate, short term satisfaction, the lack of interaction ultimately keeps most of those groups small because the ability to meet a player and recruit a player is lost everytime kos takes place. There is nothing wrong with KOS tactics and there is also a place for that play style in DayZ, but the Trade Center notion allows the friendlier player base to absolutely thrive and growth an absolute certainty. Hardcore RPers that would normally have never have logged in a Hardcore PVP server like ours will flock here because while we have real threats of danger, we actually have reached out and legitimately offered an encouragement to RP as our server tags suggest. So how does the Trade Center concept feed into this vision? Having the =UN= Clan hosting the Fort Eden Trade Center provides a rare opportunity in DayZ. We have had almost 20 players sign up as RPers specifically to serve in the =UN= in some capacity related to the hub of our RP world. The Trade Center will have Farmers, Traders, Looters, Hunters, Leather Makers, and Security forces. To further solidify the Trade Center safety, the military forces of the =UN= Clan also will serve to help out when threats present themselves, and other friendly groups may also intervene on their behalf; groups such the former =Fish= Clan have taken over leadership of the =UN= Clan, and merged with other PVP based groups such as the Ghosts of Chernarus, Green Berets, and Helm of Eden to form a large comprehensive military machine that will police the map, provide recon, loot and raid bases, escort players to the Trade Base, and provide sniper support where needed on top of defending Fort Eden, the Headquarters of the =UN= Clan as well as serving as our massive Trade Base. Other RP clans, such as the Trader Clan have also joined the effort and will play inside the base enjoying the more social aspects of the game, and serve as traders, farmers, hunters, leather makers, etc. There is even talk of offering vehicles and vehicle services. We also see having the =UN= Headquarters at the Trade Base a crucial element to it's defense and overall success. The =UN= is a large Clan and while the clan is a policing fort playing aggressively out on the map, all players, even bandits will be welcome at the Fort Eden Trade Center. So a player can literally attack the trade base all week, but then visit the base and trade just like anyone else on the weekend, as long as they follow the rules and approach the base with weapons on their backs and hands up like everyone else does. We are aware this will make operating the base more difficult, but we do it because it's good for the server not to exclude any players from interacting at Fort Eden. We also happen to think that while many players enjoy playing KOS or bandit, that doesn't mean they necessarily want to be excluded from ALL social aspects of the game and be "enemies" 100% of the time. We'd like to build friendly rivalries and in game social relationships in all aspects because once again, it's good for the server. So again, all players on the server, no matter what their play style can come to the Trade Center and interact, trade, or spy. It's all good. We will only ask that players who are not in the =UN= Clan or RPing as Traders approved to work the base NEVER log out inside the Castle walls. We make a point to notify every visitor of that when they come to the Trade Center. While the Trade Center may offer a mobile trading unit at some point, or could offer brief times at various locations where it is open, the =UN= Military Base and Trade Center are at the same location, Lopatino Castle. For the Military branch Fort Eden is somewhere central to PVP action and for the Trade Center somewhere that allows them to quickly gather gear from high loot areas and transport it quickly to the facility. The Fort Eden Trade Center is close to Water, Deer, Wolves, and Cows, and of course as mentioned be able to be secured realistically when base building comes into the game. This will provide RPers an amazing experience, because while under threat of violence in game they also have the knowledge of a conscious effort to secure a location for them and a cooperative effort by a Hardcore PVP Server (with no pvp engagement rules) to allow for their play style to thrive and moreover actually tie the heart of our PVP action to the activities within Fort Eden's walls for the ultimate DayZ experience! This RP meets PVP idea is the heart of the =UN= Community Server. At the Base itself, Lopatino Castle only has 3 ways into the facility, and one (two small holes in one of the walls) can easily be fixed with .63 new base building or base mods. The second entrances are two large archways, and they are surrounded by two short towers and three high towers, including nearby rooms with windows, high walls, stairways, hills, and stones for defenders to hide behind. Each Archway will have a lockable gate at it on each end of the archway, creating a total of 4 gates to get into the RP Trade Center, including the entire =UN= Clan Base Headquarters in between the two archways protecting the actual trade Center area at Fort Eden. This provides a potential "gauntlet" of combat between any invaders to Fort Eden and completely favors the defending group. The last entry area comes from folks glitching through rocks up the western hill into the base. That can easily be walled off both at the castle walls and down lower on the Lopatino Hill that the Castle rests on (We call it Gray Mountain). Defending Fort Eden Trade Center is the ultimate homefield advantage, which is exactly the type of challenge many outlaw KOS type groups want as a challenge. This gives our community a type of safezone that can provide a consistent hub for RP - but not enforced by rules but rather by force of action in game. Should any group successfully raid the base and they can steal, despawn, or take over and hold the base. No rollbacks, no bans, etc. The =UN= Clan is more than large enough to handle that sort of business in game. That isn't to say that if some new cheat presents itself that it won't be dealt with, but the .63 and the new base building is going to completely change the former glitching problem and lack of real walls and gates that .62 had. We anticipate that both defenders and attackers will enjoy the interaction at Fort Eden more than ever, and even the areas surrounding Fort Eden may be both monitored and used to defend the base. Other Defenses at Fort Eden: =UN= Company Commanders (also Admins): Fort Eden Brigade (Trade Center) Admin - Irish. Players that want to participate at the Trade Center MAY be from other Clans / groups so long as they do NOT ever attack the Trader Base in any way, shape, or form while working there. Serving at the Trader is a privilege not a right. Various responsibility's are - Organizing the tents, providing security for the base, working with Traders when they arrive, farming, hunting, etc. Fort Eden is where PVP meets RP and is the =UN= Community Server's effort to provide a quality RP experience to players that enjoy that aspect of the game. Interested players need to contact =UN=IRISH. Soul will also be back with the =UN= and serve as a daytime Admin. =UN= Alpha Company: Admin is Zombie Dust. Eastern Patrol and establish check points in areas that have frequent travelers passing through from Gorka to the Sobers to Grishino. =UN= Bravo Company: Admin is Etherm: Southern Patrol and player escorts to Fort Eden. =UN= Charlie Company: Admin is Ghost. This Company patrols the West portion of the map and provides immediate support to Fort Eden when under attack by outlaws. =UN= Delta Company: Admin is JohnnieRage. Northern Patrol and general Recon of the map looking for outlaws and/or bases. =UN= Echo Company: Admin is Kama. (This is our European Company for players in the UK, Europe, and anywhere else that has hours other than USA). Looting Patrols and Base Raids all over the map and frequent stops to Fort Eden. =UN= Ghost Company: Company Commander is Jarred. Leadership support is Till I Die. This Company provides Sniper and Ranged Support to all areas of the map when needed. Other =UN= Clan leadership that will be helping run the various company's are: Dallas, Mr. Yin, Brian, Papa Sean, Kae-Low, Till I Die, Rednex, and Number 2. We will also be installing mini towers and bunkers in key locations both inside and outside the Castle to help defend the base location, making the already strong location even more superb. While explosives are a potential security threat to our gates and walls, etc it's the best we can do in an Apocalypse, and as we found previously in maintaining a base, holding isn't so much about it getting attacked, it's more about having people online playing DayZ to defend it. During the .62 patch, the server was completely packed for 20 weeks before we had any drop off at all in population. During that stretch, we killed over 400 outlaws trying to breach the base gates. None made it inside. Often times bandit frustration got so high that rather than continuing to fight to get inside, they instead chose to glitch in through tents in the middle of the night during low population hours and despawn the base. Fortunately, with real base building in game the glitch monster should be fixed and more realistic means will be needed to breach the base, even in the middle of the night when population is low. There will be no "rules" related to attacking the Fort Eden Trade Center in any legitimate way in game. There are so many places to defend from with superb angles on any attackers that the facility creates an equalizer to lesser PVP skills. It is an easily defensible position that once inside offers Farmers a huge farming area inside the walls down in the lower grass area. There are also rooms down in the lower area to safely secure items or conduct business. The towers can be used as leadership offices, guard stations, and of course lookout towers. The Lopatino Castle facility is stunning, nothing like it since Prison Island was added to the game. At night, the Castle could be lite up with fireplaces, torches, and other lighting. It would set a stunning backdrop to the RP Hub and likely be a highly desirable place to hold all sorts of events on the server. Hunters can find game right outside the castle walls. Wolves spawn there, and cows and deer routinely run the area between the Castle and Lopatino. Many times you can literally shoot them from the towers of the Castle and then go grab your prize if desired. Streams and lakes are close by to make obtaining water for farming and consumption simple and as safe as it can be in DayZ. Some of the best loot on the entire map is within 5 to 10 minutes of the Castle walls. Myshkino Tents are 5 minutes West, The Lopatino Car pile-up is 7 minutes West from the Castle, Zeleno is a 12 minute run, NWAF is 10 minutes away and even Tisy is less than 20 minutes from Lopatino Castle. You can see Veresnik Hill at VMC from the tallest Castle tower as well as miles and miles of open meadows and wooded areas. Spotting players and game to hunt from here is simple and effective. Making this location even better, the tallest Tower at the Castle can view 5 different Heli spawn locations. The first of which is located on the other side of the Castle's North wall. Simply put; not only is the facility at Lopatino Castle located in the prime looting areas for gear, it provides an easily defensible location for the Trade Center to enjoy and a large area inside the walls to set up a mega community hub for what will become the place to trade in DayZ. The RP enjoyed here will be second to none, with the theme of "cooperation and survival" teamed with the threat of HARDCORE PVP. On this server however, the RP community can actually expect to have a reasonable opportunity to play the game they want to without constant interruption for the local trolls that only play to KOS troll them. Again, as stated, there will be no rules protecting this community, but they will have in-game forces helping them and protecting them as the Hero population in the game works to make life in the Apocalypse a little easier! In game rules are not what make the RP community thrive. It's all about in game interactions with the threat of violence that only the DayZ Apocalypse can offer. Players working together with other players to live life in game another way. Heroes taking on villains. Society against chaos. Our =UN= Community Trade Center is currently headed by =UN= IRISH. If you would like to participate in this vision for our =UN= Community, contact Irish and we will help you find a role that suits your play style. Currently the Trade Center is looking for Looters, Farmers, Hunters, Traders, Leather Makers, and security forces specifically assigned to protect the other groups. If you are interested in joining the Public =UN= group, we do guarantee clan membership in our signature clan. If you are interested please message a =UN= Admin on Discord and he will get you rolling. I hope you all can appreciate how this effort will in due time make the =UN= Community far more than just a fantastic place to PVP. There is much more to the game than just PVP (and that's coming from a PVPer) and having an RP community operate a strong Trade Center will prove to be what allows us to stay fully populated when others will struggle down the road. Come check out our community ~ It's where RP Meets PVP! The =UN= Community Server - Hardcore PVP | RP Encouraged | Huge Fort Eden Trade Center =Fish=IRISH =UN= Community Admin The Trade Center typically has someone there 24/7, so stop by whenever you like, but the fun is at its height in the evenings USA time when the server is packed every night with players working their way to the Trade Center at Lopatino Center! The Fort Eden Trade Base has safety, food, medicine, weapons, attachments, ammo, and all other types of gear. The base also serves as the Headquarters for the =UN= Clan. Rules for approaching Fort Eden Trade Center: If you want to trade at the Trade Base at Lopatino Castle, come to the facility at the Arch entrance only. Hands up, weapon on back, walking, not running. We do use DayZ Radio 102.5 if you would like to announce in game that you will be arriving and from where you are coming, etc. Not necessary but it makes it easier for security to protect you. -
@Mantasisg If you want to see what is all the fuss you have been making about the "hipster" way of life in DayZ, add me on steam and come run with us. I can show you how to GET ESTABLISHED ON A CHOSEN SERVER, and set up survivalist amenities and vehicles to facilitate your thirst for interaction. As it turns out, highly populated public servers seem to have very few people who roam around looking for camps, so you can set up a few camps on a PvP haven public server. Who is dumb enough to set up camp on a full public server? Ergo, who is doubly dumb enough to go looking for such? Admittedly, my current base home server has an average of less than 10 players at any one time. (Only there because players in my group started stockpiling there before I had time to choose a server this stable cycle, and I'd rather help out than take off on my own to build a base.) Last week I met a guy when only three other players were online. Found him looting the Southeastern most tent at the airfield. Ran with him for long enough to find out that he was a duper who crashed the server at will--Pissing off the other locals in the process. As for getting vehicles running; you just have to choose a server and put in the time. It is MUCH MORE CHALLENGING to choose one server and spend your time trying to get a presence established and get to know the regulars, than it is to just hop to the most full server you see at that given moment. Currently, I am doing a deductive sweep of the map to locate the camp of one particular player on our home server; so I can write my name inside his tent inventory with loot. I'll start a farm in his base if I have to, in order to get enough items to arrange; or add another tent of my own. After a couple weeks pretty-much owning the random public server with a group of friends, we have noticed things like vehicles that none of us could account for, and a lack of activity in certain areas of the map; which greatly narrows the search area when looking for the other regulars. It can be pretty boring and monotonous, but I do this to chill out for a couple hours after work--drinking beer and bullshitting on TS while sitting in the air conditioning and scouring the map for signs of life. If we feel like finding some guaranteed player interaction, we can pretty much always hop onto a full server and find more action than you can handle within an hour. If you don't have an hour to play, then you might be playing the wrong game at that particular time. Perhaps you should try playing with us sometime. I can't guarantee your bone health will always be full, but we'll keep you well-supplied with steaks and ammo, and plenty of O+ blood if you need it. (We still need a universal donor to stockpile O-) It's worth considering: If you aren't getting the experience you want, perhaps there is something missing in your methods.

Back to DayZ standalone after 3 years - thoughts
blackberrygoo replied to libertine's topic in General Discussion
Ya it's pretty fucking boring to be honest . I can see why someone (OP) who's been out of the loop for 3 years could be pretty upset at the state of the game . Sure it looks and sounds great , but damn we need the mechanics that were promised 3.5 years ago .... base building , barricading , advanced vehicles , birds to hunt , soft skills , new animations , bears , electricity and the generators , zombies bashing in doors and windows, weed / alcohol / cigarettes (all shown in completed trello pictures over the past few years) and that's just to scratch the surface . When we get all of that we can truly have fun in dayz - but until then it's apple picking , kill everyone with a better weapon simulator . -

helpthedeadwalk posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
UK420 and The Dead Return have teamed up on a server based on Taviana! If you've never played it, see http://dayzdb.com/map/taviana for more info (vehicle spawns follow this map). If you have played it, then you'll know that its arguably the best non-Chernarus map out there. The server is based on vanilla, but with a few added features. We have a few regulars, but we need more players. Now that 1.8.9 is released, there will be loot in many more buildings. Tavi is a large map, very fun and if all your used to is Chernarus , you'll have plenty to learn. UK420 The Dead Return 1.8.9 Taviana Vanilla+ has some mods: * Walking+Running Zombies - Sometimes they run just to keep you on your toes * DZMS - Highly Customized with 20+ AI Missions * DZGM - Group System * Extra Heli Crashes, Infected Camps and Care Packages -> You will need to download Taviana using DayZ Launcher here - https://dz.launcher.eu/download -> Visit the discord at https://discord.me/tavi for full information on how to join the server. * Active admins. * Max Players: 30 * Max Vehicles: 125 (It's a BIG map) * Physical Server Location: FR * Restarts: Every 3 hours * Battleye: Enabled * IP Address: 149.202.89.11:2302 Any questions?
