What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

allways involves one Party getting killed and waking up in toon Limbo :D ( altho fully healthy and stuff )

This happened just this night, playing a game of DayZ, being all sneaky n' such...then BAM! Is this a hack or a glitch? I've heard of hacks that work just like this, so...I'm curious.

LOL.  Well as pissed as I was.  It was kind of funny to hear other players near me saying... "what the fuck"  then someone typed.... "hacker again".

 

And people were all black female characters in underwear.  They are not all AI.   I could hear people talking on their mic to me.

 

 

the only good news is that it does not kill your real character.  When you exit the game, you still have your original character.

 

But the server renters/admins are extremely pissed off about this new hack.

So any confirm from other people that the hack doesn't really kill your original character? That would mean

the hacker cuts communication with the central hive and does it job then or something like that. Doesn't sound anything as bad as the mod hacking because there you lost your character.

Hicks is probably wrong. I got teleported for the first time and someone on the server triggered it because he was talking to me while he did it.

Edit: My original character died but I am not sure why or how.

I was all "there not many hacks blah blah" I take that back you guys need to get the bs under control ive seen so many hackers in the last weeks than ever people flying people teleporting etc etc im seeing old dayz mod and warz all over again and for the LOVE OF GOD!Dont turn into warz and just let it go on!That game a piece of crap even now they let that crap get so out of control there literally no comming back from it.

I recently got killed by wallhacker in Berezino and yesterday someone teleported to me on roof in Berezino aswell, I got it on video lol. So yeah Berezino is full of hackers, don't go there.

Saying that it is impossible might not be good, but he knows more about the game than we do, not saying he might not be wrong. BUT you are twisting the message here by (for me) making it sound like there is a hack allowing it in your follow up question. He responded: "not possible. I'd say a failure on the game servet comms with central hive or the hive itself. Investigating". If he is right or not, there is the answer to your question. SmashT's post contained the answer for your question already, even if you could not see the link.

 

It's the same on his twitter page, ppl responding with "Bullshit it isn't possible. I have seen it happening a ton lately." (HardenedMidget) even though Hicks never said the problem does not exist. I hate social media.

 

Whatever it is, I first saw posts about this here yesterday, the same day hicks wrote that they are investigating the problem. So at least the response time is not bad. Stay calm and drink tea, we will see a lot more of such "funny" things during development, that we can be sure of.

sure they will do something but theydont trust theyr own testers if they report about such shit... there are alot of hack sites why a dev have no account there for the newest cheatinfos...

Considering that was the spawn for when we were testing and this seems to be some sort of debug-spawn I would definitely say he's not incorrect. It can always be some weird glitch and I personally couldn't think of a reason why anyone would want to teleport you there.

Yeah this happned to me and everybody on the server last night. A hacker was teleporting around us and punching me and my friends. I was calling him names for awhile, but particularly at one point when I tried to shoot him he said 'its people like you who shoot me, that's the reason I hack, now get ready!'

Boom 40 black chicks at vybor. So I start raging via VoIP, all of a sudden, hacker says, SHUT UP! And then 'you are dead'

If this isn't a hack its some sort of exploit and it has to be player activated based on what happned to me and what I've read. It was definitely a hacker who initiated it for me.

I have enjoyed gaming problem free with standalone since release. But last night this happed to me on a very popular server. 40People all transported to one place and turned into colourd girls. This is alpha and I am not complaining but do think it needs looking into from the development team as I can not play now. I am stuck with the coloured girl character and when I log in an unseen zombie screems and hits me. I think for me this now is a glitch  but it has been caused by the hack last night.  I will completley reinstall the game after the next update but thought this is important for the devs and comunity to know.

 

This is the most atmospheric game out there and the devs are doing an ace job. Just feel this issue nees some attention.

The general hacker situation is out of control. Either way you play on a very low populated server and pray for the best or, in case your server fills, you get the possibility of hackers. Yesterday we did another PvP session in Hackervalley (guess what town it is..) and once we killed a few people our sniperpost was disarmed and unclothed within a few seconds, then shot a moment later. Make it 60 seconds and we were all dead in the bay down the hill. A few of us also lost their gear before actually dying.

 

The power of hackers is absurd, they can avoid the anti-cheat-engine and we actually talked to someone that was obviously using hacks as he was flying/speeding/disarming us while talking on voicechat. When we mentioned the upcomming purge he said that his paid hack already got the update infos scripted and that he's not worrying a second. He even offered to check the crashsites quickly as it would only take him a few minutes.

 

I don't mind them to reset the stable hive.. however, I'm very afraid to lose all my new earned gear to someone that just wants to "gear up" with those stupid tools. Honestly.. I'm not very attached to my gear, but if I have to lose it in any way, I want at least have a glimpse of a chance to defend myself.

Alpha is about reporting issuse mate. Hence my post in this thread all it need was reading or ignoring. The only whining is the comment you made. Please dont participate in Alpha tests if you dont undersand what they are about. Wait for the release.

Some hacker just tried to mess with me.  He tped to me, forced my gun put away.  Tried to act friendly, but what do I want to be friends with a hacker for?  So I tried to punch him out since I couldn't keep my gun out.  He shot me in the legs and left, so I started crawling to the nearest place for bandages as mine were ruined.  He shoots at me a little on the way but I quite frankly didn't care.  I've long since stopped being attached to my gear.

 

Got to the building and bandaged/made a splint.  He comes back and says something dumb about how we coulda been friends and he would have given me stuff, to which I replied I didn't want his hacked shit.  Every time I try to splint he takes the splint out of my hand.  Throws my axe on the ground.  Still can't pull out the gun so basically nothing I can do at all.  He says I'm gonna suffer, but really I was just bored.

 

Told him I was gonna switch servers and he could kill me if he wanted, so I logged out.  Decided to take a break instead of actually switching though.  I bet he killed me as he didn't seem very creative.

 

Any ways.  I don't really get how hackers can force my character to do things, still?  Like forcing me to put my gun away, how is that even a thing?  I mean I know it's a thing, I've had it happen before, but what I mean is, isn't this exactly what the server architecture is supposed to prevent.  Getting pretty sick of it, especially with their attitude any time some one brings up a hack.  They denied people could strip you of items when it first started happening too.  Then they claimed to fix it, and it came back hardly any time later at all.

 

Why can't they just buy these hacks themselves and then reverse engineer it or something, or at least get a better understanding of what is even going on.  If some 12 year old can google this stuff and get all set up, I just don't see how they can't stay on top of it.

Its important for the devs to know the severity of the hacking because it impacts massivley on the game. Dayz stands out above all else because of how it makes you feel and the atmosphere it creates. One of the core tasks initally was to balance the game and ease the kill onsite. All this work is wasted as hackers make people expect to be killed onsite. It is ruining what makes dayz specail. I know you can never make anything over the internet 100% secure. But if comes down to proffit / gameplay balance - then stopping the hackers has to be paramount in my optinion. Otherwise we may as well play cod (Hacker heaven)
