Just joined the conversation, but I have to agree. Private hives ruined DayZ imo, I miss the days of having the same likelyhood of getting the same gear, on every server. Been playing for a long time, many of my fave. servers have been shut down since. That' was another great thing about public hives, your data carried from one server to another. If the private I play on, by some miracle has no admin abuse, no hacking/glitching and no lagg, it may be shut down. Then I lose everything I did on that server. And sometimes it takes hours or days to find out your server is corrupted. I remember spending three days on a server, making my base, getting my loot. North of Olsha I find an admin base, filled with RPG's etc.

Hello, I started DayZ a very long time ago, and I really miss those days. I just checked DayZ commander, but couldn't find any old populated DayZ mod servers. Is there a website listing any? Do you guys have some you can recommend? I'm tired of playing epoch because I want managable zombies. Thanks.

Seriously? Even if you logout the normal way? I was near bolata, just looted it and logged out near the barracks, but I did it the standard way.

That's why I can't play the mod anymore, admin abuse is ridiculous.

There were only 3 people on that server, 2 was me and my mate. We have their names, not sure on how to report them. If you can't tell what's happening, look at the pile of bodies with the same loot. There's about 11?

Friend hopped onto server, saw this: I have a picture with my friends name, and everyone else. There's two of them, and they have the same clan tag.

Seems evident to me, I wonder if anyones gonna call desync on that lol. P.S she got hella mad at his "show me your boobs" comment, but take a look at her twitter. Or her profile, which is a picture of her in the shower. (Look at the top left corner).

tl;dr: Is there a list of accurate descriptions of items, or are these held by the devs.? Hello, I recently got into DayZ again, and for the past 3 months I have not kept up. I came across a rain coat, and a wool coat. I wanted to know what they do, so I went ahead to the wikia. Instead of getting a description of what the item does in game, I got either the description from ingame or from the wikipedia. For example, on the ballistic helmet it says that it can survive 1-2 headshots from an M4. That is useful. But for the Rocket Aviators it says "Useful only in protecting the eyes from the sun, these glasses provide non-existent projectile defense and can give away your position when compared with camo gas masks or other face coverings." Does the sun have an effect in DayZ? Or is that just a description of what sunglasses do in real life? "The raincoat is perfect for long-term survival in wet conditions." Does it actually make a difference in game? I still got damp. If I wear the woolen hat, it says "One must be careful around water though, because knitted fabric tends to hold moisture for a long time, causing rapid heat loss and hypothermia." Is this true in game? Would it actually cause me to get ill more often if wet, or does it simply have no effect in game?

Pretty interesting how the thread I left to die, months later has been pinned. I'm genuinely surprised, but pleased because it goes to show that the possibility of hacking is accepted and being dealt with. "We are not overly draconian in our approach", I think this thread proves it, I could name so many other developers who would have banned me by now for the same thread. Anyways, with the new acquisition of a game development company, and the mass added improvements to the game since the creation of this thread, I've decided to come back. I've just taken the approach of playing less cautious. Why less? Because it's a pain to spend hours doing something, hitting numerous cities, building your gear, to only die to a hacker. I just yolo it now, run in with no gear, if I die, nothing lost. Beans to the DayZ crew + mods all around.

My problem is I don't want people to assume I'm a threat, and I've played the mod long enough with friends to know the importance of trigger/muzzle disciplines.

Hello, I seem to notice I get two very distinctive mouse speeds when I'm running, or walking with my weapon up, compared to when I'm walking with my weapon down. For example, if I'm running, my sensitivity is great. If I'm walking with my weapon up, my sensitivity is great. However if I'm walking with my weapon down, my sensitivity is just so bad. It takes numerous sweeps to get a fraction of the movement I would if I had my weapon up. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks, - Ram

Well this thread went threw quite a bit. I feel that some of you are getting really defensive, telling me other games get hacked (I know this first hand), actually listing other games worse than DayZ SA, listing other forms of anti-cheats etc. I'm not here to smeer shit on DayZ or Bohemia, I just noticed people not dying, in ways which they would have on the mod. That said for anyone stumbling across this thread, if someone is up on your face just run as far as you can, because they may be hacking, or they may be desyncing which means that you'll not kill them. Even if they run straight at you.

Seems like guys who play 50+ hours are coming across nothing, but guys with a few hours like me are coming across a few. Could it be that hacking has become a problem recently in DayZ SA rather than from the beginning?
