Day Zombie? I thought it means Day Zero, standing for the day of apocalypse. Sure there is a zombie on the cover, but it could be removed in notime. Besides that I think you got another understanding of "core feature" than I have.

ok, just looked into it and i indeed had the 'Z' in the name wrongly figured - it's an assumption i've always held and never looked into, i will happily admit that i'm wrong there.

as for the different understanding, yes indeed it seems we do and i will leave it at that as i'm not looking to argue - opinion be opinion, assumption be assumption and fact be fact.

The original argument was that if they release stand alone without zombies, even if temporarily, it would give new players a bad impression of the game due to the amount of PVP that a lack of zombies would cause. 

 

So, in an earnest effort of trying to get this thread back on topic, I've basically shown how DayZ without zombies is Wasteland. I've literally played Wasteland servers that ARE EXACTLY DayZ without zombies. There are as many different types of Wasteland as there are types of DayZ at this point. Hell, I've played DayZ servers that didn't include zeds for whatever reason. 

 

I don't necessarily have an opinion on the subject. I would rather they don't release the game than release it without zombies. I personally feel like the entire conversion, like so many of his conversations, is nothing more than Wayze trolling and trying to get his post count up, but I digress.

You are talking about the DayZ Mod, not the real DayZ. And the impression would be good don't you think? Most people like deathmatching, so that means Dean can make some money before he turns the game into hardcore survival again. :)

And stop calling people trolls because you have another opinion, just shows how intolerant you are.

Maybe you are right man, I have no idea either. I am not sure if Dean ever commented this. Zero was just my interpretation or something I have heard someday.

Yep. If Dean delivers DayZ wihout zombies then we would have those eggs only. He would probably then want us taste those eggs and say what we should do differently to get them as greasy as possible. Then he delivers the plate with new eggs and that secret bacon and then we can say again how the bacon and eggs tasted this time.

Or alpha testing isn't that you go eat your stomach full in 5 star restaurant. You go in 1 star restaurant to taste different things and give feedback how to make the place 5 star restaurant.

 

This is just if Rocket wants to test things this way.

but theres the thing that they/team/Dean dont release the 1 star food, they argue with the argument they need time to deliver a good game, yet claim the possible need of releasing the game without zombies.

this is like pronouncing a 5 star restaurant but deliver 1 star food.

I first thought that Z means zero. It would be nice to hear from Rocket what the Z means (or first meant) in the name. And Wayze said it why not because Rocket hasn't defined the Z.

I love that whole Kamenka>Pavlovo>Zelenogorsk>Pustoshka/Myshkino>Lopatino/Vybor corridor. I spend 90% of my time there and always giggle when people bitch about Kamenka spawns, it's so obviously the best one if you've got an attention span of more than five seconds.

 

I saw a while back, I think it was in some convention footage, where Zeleno had barracks. I doubt barracks will have the same significance as they do in the mod, but it looked nice.

they mentioned, that they didnt want it to be a big release and then because its alpha people would say nah, and stop playing, so they said, no build up, i keep checking steam news, in case they sneake the little turd in there :D
