Certainly not hiding anything. There are very few vehicles and it's a lot of work getting one going. I'm not about to invite every player to ambush us for parts or a chassis at the few spots we've found.

Yeah, yeah, ok :-) The important thing is that vehicles exists, otherwise i was searching for nothing :-D Thanks man Bye Remoz

I'm roaming by days looking into the "famous" places on the map (izurvive new 0.63 map) where maybe spawn a vehicle, but, can't find one :-( Has any of you succeeded? Thanks, bye Remoz

Might be a PC gamer In the wrong forum section l as they just tested vehicles on the PC experimental servers?
-
It's the "debug plain". There's nothing there. I believe if you log out there, it will wipe your character. Back in the mod days, it did not. People would stash vehicles away in the distance, effectively removing vehicles from the server, which sucked and was game breaking.
-
Hello survivors, does anyone know when the vehicles will leave?.
-
Why? We're getting base building, vehicles, helicopters and plenty other stuff such as climbing, soft skills, etc. Yes, you will have to wait a while for some of these things.

Not surprised by negativity about upcoming 1.0

You've been on about this for a while, and i find it to be completely false. I don't know if it is the servers you choose, or your skill/playstyle that prevent you from having interactions. A fair 50/50 of interactions at military bases on populated private servers turn out friendly or at least a neutral parting of ways for me. My coastal interactions generally consist of some cockwomble trying to punch me out while I look for apples or drink from a well. Same thing goes for the zone 2 interactions, except it's some goober with a basic gun trying to gear up faster at my expense. I have had much more interesting interactions further inland, albeit with a higher ratio of pot-shotters who I normally tend to flee and/or flank. Geared players, with more to lose, are much more responsive to my greeting of "hey buddy, if I was planning to shoot you I'd have done it already." Sure, there are always some KOS squads; but there seems to be just as many solo or paired players who understand the rationality that shooting me might ruin the magazine, IV start kit, or whatever they were looking for. But for those players to exist in that state, there must be those things that they would be out looking for. Hopefully, the finished game will have more driving factors for player dispersion; such as industrial areas at coastal cities having better spawns for vehicle repair parts, base building items, and hopefully some things we may not have heard or even thought of yet. If generators spawn in Elektro, and gears for lumbermills spawn in Berezino, but it is terribly impractical to carry them by hand, and building your base right by the coast is understandably daft, then endgame players with vehicles will have to venture back to the coast regularly as part of the endgame life cycle of maintaining a comfortable presence on a server over the long term; as well as having to make regular trips to military areas, places with medical spawns, and good hunting grounds to facilitate their survival in the course of these endeavors. If you've played many of the stress tests, and watched the populations fall off after a week or two, it should be apparent that both lack of content and geared PvP NWAF spawns both get old fast. Players want abundant content and motivators to facilitate diversity of experiences. -
Hello Xbox players, we have a new update for you today - 0.63.149255. Please keep in mind that this is NOT the current Stress Test version from PC including vehicles and base building, it still needs more testing. We also changed a server time, a night is now shorter. Fixed: Player stuck in the login queue after console update Massive FPS drop when scoping in big cities - improved Favorite filters can corrupt navigation in server list screen Description block text in Options on XBOX ONE X is too small Quick bar in the tutorial picture Canceling logout timer using B eventually kicks you out of the server after 15 seconds Added: Player invite button If you find any bug just make a ticket here, please.

nice, didn't see that one yet, still, helicopters are planned for after the 1.0 beta, and i don't want to guess how long that will take with how long vehicles (2) took to implement, guess they are doing everything from scratch

I agree with OP pretty much 0.63 has some great changes, better performance, soon vehicles (2 cars) stamina, modding, a great radio system but the dayz gameplay loop, talking Vanilla DayZ, was NOT about fort or base building, it was about being the most powerfull clan on the server, and how did you get that? through the Huey the only one Huey on the map, air supremacy, made each and every base (tent cities) accessible and easily viewable from the air, people could be spotted very easily, and along with GPS you could relay the position of people to your guys, for example in a car convoy the Helicopter was the ultimate end game goal, at least for me and my clan at that time, and i loved being the pilot don't get me wrong, 0.63 is great, but it is far away from a complete gameplay loop (no huey, no high end sniper rifles, no GPS/NVG), or a survival game (no sickness, temperature, weather effects, NOT EVEN UNCONCIOUSNESS and a terrible workaround for the gamma exploit, leaving many people seeing nothing at day OR night), or anything resembling some game where you even remotely WANT to build a base why build a base? you'd have to cart everything from the mil bases, which are crazy full of weapons and ammo and gear, to your base, which would only make sense to put near the spawn points, because why have a base anywhere else? if it takes longer to run to your base from spawn than to run to any milbase, bases are useless, and without any form of access control to your base (doors with keys, access codes or similar) bases near the coast would be raided all the time calling this thing having a "complete gameplay loop" is a joke, sorry, but this feature set would barely resemble a complete feature loop for anything but a battle royal game: "Gear up and kill until you get killed" it would be no problem if you guys just went ahead with "No beta this year gus, but we will release a 0.63 stable with vehicles and tents and work on getting the Huey and all the survival elements back into the game for 0.64" but no, you guys insist on calling this a complete gameplay loop and spit in the face of everyone ever defending you guys wanting to finish the core features before going into a beta stage

Were getting 1shotgun, basic base building and two ground vehicles in full release in q1 or q2 2019. Games going into 1.0 release on PC so will officially be beta and out of early access on steam. All the other promised features for 1.0 like vaulting and climbing, 20+ weapons and attachments, loads of items, limb fractures, helicopter, fishing etc etc will be coming after what we on console would call a 'full release' now :( . PC people are quite p*ssed off, can't say I blame them. So I guess it's gonna be a considerable length of time till we see a big content update.

I feel ya dude. I enjoy the night time and rainy thing BUT it has definitely negatively impacted the player base, I'm an EU player and even on weekends there only two full servers at any one time and the rest range from 10-1 players. Combine those figures with the recent release of black ops and red dead 2 and it's dropped even lower. I always knew it'd be a niche game but I never expected it to be the same 120 people playing in European high pop servers within a few months. It's a big shame when a game like DayZ is reliant on a healthy player base, many people who are happy playing the run around the coast having a chat style gameplay or the people who love to go for high end weapons and PvP or RP a hero are blindly fanboying ATM which is commendable but also shortsighted, there assumption that this game is comparable to the mod and that it's core gameplay elements are okay as they are without any need for more mechanics or content before 1.0 other than the basic base building and two ground vehicles is flawed. There's a reason that 9 out of 10 people who have bought the game on console and PC no longer play is because it isn't fulfilling to play for them, not enough depth or nuance. And when the games press see 1.0 release and the game goin for full price at Xmas for PC it'll get decimated. I love the original mod and can see the potential for this game , but if the people who are continuing to play it (the minority of people who actually bought it) keep settlin for it as is, the game will not grow. Therefore it won't get the support and development it deserves. I'm not just some hater, I've played and watched content of this game and it's many mods for years. SA maybe the most stable version so far but it's also the dullest

Experienced players can get end game loot in an hour or less then it becomes COD deathmatch but with a 100square mile map. If your relying on player interactions to make a game enjoyable then you're game is lacking content. The end game ATM is too easy and basic base building and ground vehicles are basically tools to allow experienced player too harvest and keep end game weapons faster and easier, which in turn will increase there ability to deathmatch. Don't get me wrong I love PvP in dayz and also love player interaction but once you've killed 100+ players with every gun and combination of clothing and items etc , there's just not enough things to do, no depth or nuance. Just my two cents, many enjoy the rinse and repeat nature of the current build but once you know the map Inside and out it feels lack lustre to me. I prefered playing a less optimised version with a lot more items, vehicles, heli etc, it was the vast amount of variables, items and weapons etc that I loved the mod for, I couldn't have cared less about it's jankyness -

Throwing items, jumping, vaulting and climbing as well as cars and the helicopter were promised features for 1.0 So this stuff was not down on the list but they simply failed to implement them in time. Barricading, planes, two wheeled vehicles were postponed ( down on the list) which is not cool but at least understandable somehow. Taking into account that the current stuff is buggy and unpolished as hell and the amount of missing items and weapons compared to 0.62 is massive.... We all can see the reactions on the Forums, Reddit, Youtube and Steam :( PS: Bi was lucky that all competitors trying to create a similar game failed until now but this will probably change soon.... -
They should have fixed game mechanics and FPS lag spikes and such years ago. We dont have content we wish we have and we are still in desync, lag zones, bad vehicles and dumb zombies and we are two months away from "release".
-
Everything that BI told us via Twitter ( alot of little things got a answer via twitter ), status reports etc are pretty clear. They are trying to push everything and tbh, vehicles&base building etc looks nearly done tho. Weapons will get back into the game once more important things get fixed. Xbox players only get a shotgun before 2019, but thats okay for me, we just got the engine change and they had to rework everything. Its a new game. Everything have to get re-programmed. A bit like DayZ-mod to the old DayZ SA build way back. They got the Day&Night cycle working good so far and it was a much requested feature since the release as a GPG. DayZ runs much smoother now. It looks way better. It become more SA than a Arma based game and thats good, but i like arma tho.

1. Good. 2. Yes, I am sure. 3. A lot of work to be done for sure, but they aren't sleeping in the office, I think they can manage that. 4. Mod's content is mainly Arma 2's content, but edited, and still, works much worse than in DayZ. 5. No, "current stress test isn't going to be Beta and 1.0" - it misses core features such as properly configured vehicles, base building, modding support, launcher ect ect. And ofc polishing. 6. I still have no idea how not adding not working Helicopters, climbing over obsicles(While w have more than we had in every BI title, but Ylands, which is jump), fractures(I like this feature, but the game won't be hurt much for few weeks or month without it, cause we've got limping.) and few guns would make the game "Remotely close" to what devs have told us. and 7. You mistake "1.0" definition with a "feature complete" product. 1.0 Stands by a version of a product, that provides all BASIC and CORE features of the game, in playeble, bug free and polished state of it, which 1.0 will. More guns, helis and climbing aren't core features for the game, they are addictional.
-
True, in the mod days, this was where ARMA 2 Wasteland came in handy. And not just for PVP, but learning all the corners of the map is a lot faster when you have trucks, cars, armored vehicles, planes and helicopters spawning everywhere.
-
just to clearyfy...Arma3 basic game came with 7 helicopters...helicopter dlc added 2 more the Huron and the Taru ( in different versions) ...they also added the advanced flightmodel, firing from vehicles and sling loading as a free platform update with this dlc !!
-
Nice thread, but you should read the latest status report . Full release is happening before Xmas and all it's gonna have oter than what it's got is maybe basic base building and two ground vehicles & that's only confirmed for PC lol. No guns, items or mechanics that have been tested over last five years. So you may be waitif about 3-5 years for achievements guys as vaulting, craftable bows, fishing, helicopter, the 20+ weapon , weapon attachments, broken bones, bikes, ghillie suit, item colouration etc etc etc all need merging back in bit by bit and all the bugs that'll arise from that will need fixing one by one . You get my point

I was thinking about your answer and while it's technically true, I believe the discrepancies among various 'perfections' and betwen them and the reality is not what is at stake here. Simply put, scrambled eggs or not, SKS or not, the version proposed in the latest SR is not what any DayZ player would consider 'final'. I can agree that i.e. the list of vehicles may be not exhaustive and in fact may remain ever-expanding (remember that Helos in Arma 3 came with a separate - and paid - DLC). But many features cut on the floor would be expected by almost everyone to find their way into 1.0, let's say a year ago. So this is not all about your favourite fishing/bows/bikes/whatever, but about the status of the given version on the timeline. Not 'finished' of course, but a product which you can call a 'game' and no longer handwave any problems with 'shouldn't've bought EA, suckers'. I don't share the current vitriol towards the dev team, but mainly because I don't even consider that upcoming version as 1.0. It's just 0.64 wrapped up in Christmas paper, nothing more and nothing less. Can't wait for future builds in 2019!

OK, so we know what we will have in game for next six to eight months. We can cry all we want - devs wont do nothing about it. But we can also see there are already varius mods emerging even before BETA. What are chances that someone actually hosts moded server with more guns, vehicles, 10 times more infected (I will always call them zeds) and all the stuff we want? So base building acctually make sence (Build a base so you can do horticilture, colour your pelts (@IMT), repair your car in peace without having to fight off zeds all the time). Or servers will be just PVP/150 cars/spawn with M4+450rounds shitmatch? I played hundreds of hours in Dayz mods and Exile, and few servers that actualy were more survival (without traders, with advanced crafting and repairing) were mostly empty and soon shut down.

Good post IMT, Very well thought out. We all have issues with Dayz, but yours clearly sees what others have tried to express a concern over. Otherwise Core game, with nothing in it. That's a huge problem with me too. Its almost as bad as introducing vehicles, and taking them out and reintroducing vehicles that have no battery to start them. Just saying much of what IMT says is clearly a good case for review, but good luck changing the so called timeline we never see.
