So the pumpkins which @Kirov (DayZ) mentioned is actually not the kind of food you should eat. What I did was after I threw up I believe I ate 5 apples and topped the rest off with water.

That's true, I forgot about the apples (I was stuck to Stary Yar back then and there's not a single apple tree there). However, I sure can testify that pumpkins are good if not the first best solution to staying fed in cholera.

Another idea - chicken fillets, as they seem to be much more nutritious in this build. But remember that you can't spend your energy running around.

Remember - every food which can be cooked packs more energy and has lower stomach volume when processed. If you have a gas stove, cook even your apples.

Well it looks like I may make it. My energy was 100% when I got sick and indeed hydration was going down fast. Found a jerrycan and a small lake, not ideal but it had to do. Emptied the jerrycan, filled it with water and drank all of it. That made me puke. After that I kept drinking until dark green hydrated and kept it that way. After a while my "sick" status was gone and I regained color. However, I do still get messages like "I feel worn out", but there seems to be more and more time between them. Not sure if it will be over now, I am still drinking lake water so maybe I am reinfecting myself... As soon as I think I can leave the lake I will go search for a pump, fill the jerry can with clean water, make myself puke again and get hydrated with safe water. Thanks for the help guys!

Once you catch cholera, you develop immunity to it while you're sick and some time after (24h?), so you're safe to drink lake water.

It seems you were hit with the mild case. Good for you!

As @Kirov (DayZ) already said, you will be immune to cholera for a certain period of time. And are you sure that you already passed the hardest stage? If I'm correct, at that stage the messages will show in red and the status notifier will also be red.

Never saw red messages, I did have an orange sick status which is now gone.

Maybe you got lucky and got the lightest of them the 3 but still, be cautious. :)

Emptied the jerrycan

Make sure to double-rinse the jerrycan.  Gasoline residue has been known to cause sickness as well.  Maybe rinse it three times, just to be safe...

About the visuals of stars.........they are bugging me a little bit.

Here's what a star field looks like, under regular light pollution conditions:

(with denser populated cities, you can see even less, the Orion constellation is still pretty visible though)

njsky-04-21-15png-9dd8d9417a75601b.png

This looks somewhat similar to what we see in DayZ normally. See next photo for reference.

What bothers me is that Chernarus has no electricity, therefore is not subjected to light pollution; star fields and the Milky Way should be a whole lot more visible than the stars we see at the moment. Mind you, I'm aware that this isn't a priority at all but it's just my two cents on the ''visual of stars''.

Here's what I would love to see (pardon the supremely crude photoshopping, this is just to illustrate my point.)

Before

After

The Milky Way is an important missing part of our night sky unencumbered by city light pollution.

The  Myshkino tents (very left of map) no memorie crash for me and my friends, we are stuck in that area with the FPS extremely low. Yes we have tried changing servers. Takes about 10 trys of joining the server to start moving but then get about 2 seconds of run time before crash

North West Ventures

Got a sedan stuck in Grishino. Banged the trash cans so hard the hood flew off.

Ditched the sedan and found a cargo. Server-hopped on an AUS server because my graphics card sucks and I can't see shit in the dark. Looted Tisy. Found a tent. Went back to baby camp.

I got him a fishing hook and wrapped it nicely in a teddy bear as a gift for escorting me through darkness but he wasn't having any of it.

''I ignored you and your teddy bear because I thought you were just being annoying shoving it in my face.''

Lesson learned, I keep the bears to myself now.

The end.

This is known as the '<1 FPS bug' in my circle.  It has no verified cause, but was present since .60 patch, and seemed to often be related to vehicles or repeated player activity in the area.  Sometimes after one specific person leaves the server, it will stop happening for everyone else affected.

The only sure-fire way I know to make it stop, is to immediately start backing out of the area in the direction from which you came.  I lay down and turn myself 90 degrees, then roll out, for security reasons.

What seems to work for me when I get <1 FPS - press "Esc" twice, and you're good to go again.

Streamed for about 5 hours last night without a crash, running on windows 8.1 X64 client. Do have some friends that are still crashing quite regularly though.

Interesting, will try that next time but it might just be a coincidence.

Yeah, I wonder what the difference here is. Since the hotfix I haven't noticed a single crash yet while other players have.

Perhaps, it happened to me one or two builds ago a little north of the Berezino spawn along the coast and on a separate occasion once in the fields just south of Svetlojarsk, in both cases it worked. YMMV tho.

What did you do with Gamma? In previous version when I increase gamma durin night everithing look very beautiful and atmospheric, but now in 0.62.140099 shadows look disgustingly.

Look at the shadows on the door. It wasn't like that in previous version.

Unless you have some kind of visual problem, you shouldn't crank up the gamma (that much). Have some balls for once and play with immersion.

I'm still crashing quite frequently.

Driving the sedan is a challenge.  It feels like it's on ice.  Not sure if there is a gravity setting for the sedan, but if so, it needs to be up'ed a bit.  I also do not like how even the smallest bush can cause a crash.  They really need to dedicate some folks into fixing vehicles.  It's getting to the point to why even bother driving.

Maybe a first test to reduce gamma abuses. (More Gamma, less Colordeep).
