Exp Update: 0.60.+++

Had a pretty nice day on SW 0-2.  Had to kill a guy in a red M/C helmet up at NEAF.  We were running by each other when he pulled his xbow.  Daryl Dixon he wasn't since I had a P1 with a full magazine.  Only the second most recent encounter I've had and both in the Samish area.  Running with a scoped CZ 527, I have 14 rounds of 7.62x39 for it 10 of which are in the two magazines I have managed to find.  And since this is .60 I consider myself pretty well armed along with my P1 that I also have two magazines for it and my fire axe.

It should be held like pistol, like it is in Arma 2 and 3. Its more pistol than SMG.

Were you the person at Grishino police station who thought he was shot at by me? He had a CZ as well and was sure I was trying to shoot him.

You should be able to fold and unfold it. Until then, I would be annoyed if the stock was there but unable to be used. The gun would be less effective. The Mini Uzi previews so far have shown the stock folded—I hope they unfold that one as well.

Definetly!! Im so anoyed when I run with Scorpion like I hold AK-74U. Its only 20% bigger then FNX or CR75.

Nope, wasn't me.  My CZ is wrapped.  Besides, I have a sidearm for interior work.  I'd never use a rifle indoors, too frigging much chance someone gets inside it.  As a rule, unless I am a freshie, I avoid police stations like the plague.

Maybe a bit late but yeah...

Spawned back in and lost my P1 with mag and silencer. Went to see the police station and suddenly my characters moans and the screen flashes red. Broken legs... Luckily I had morphine but my pants and shoes were ruined. Heard some shots after that with a pistol and I thought I go check it out. There was this guy shooting some zombies with his pistol, he put it immediately away when I spoke to him. He lost his gun as well but I found it for him.

Luckily the loss of my pistol was corrected when I found a Glock and I had 2 mags and 2 silencer. The question is, can it get any worse? :)

So has anybody else noticed some servers are more stable to one person but not to another person. It tried sw-02 for a couple hours of in, kick, in, kick but I can play on central 10 just fin it seems.

The "group" here would have noticed it unless it's all in my head.

some servers are unplayable for me, some work fine.

it feels like the "new" 30 Servers are not stable like the "old" ones.

Another thing is, i got much more FPS on 3rd person servers then on 1st person servers, don´t know why

Speaking of which, five 1pp servers really?

I thought 1pp was the preferred game mode and 3pp was an option yet "hardcore" gets treated like a red headed step kid as usual.

yep, all european 1pp ONLY servers i play with lower fps then on 3/1pp servers (nearly same ping).

all my 4 toons (2 acc, one of my daughter) are in the same place of the map and on 3/1pp servers i got roundabout 30% more fps.

And for sure, sometimes i like to play softcore with looking around edges ;)

It bugs me that the 3pp kos kiddies can't even stay in their own sandbox even though it's bigger. I'm sure they just use the few 1pp servers as an over flow if they cant get into a 3pp "right nao".

I should show them by playing on 3pp in first person by just wandering around unarmed growing and hunting food and not being a general dickhole, that'd teach 'em.

Finally managed to get in for a couple of play sessions.  I have this terrible laptop without a graphics card, but I will same the game ran very very smooth for what itr was able to display.   Had no lag issues, and once I was able to get in a server, I stayed in until it restarted.  Did my usual route from Berezino to Polana, to Gorka, to the Dubrovkas and up to Govozdno... where I made a most unsettling discovery.   The house that I have called my own has finally fallen to SenChi and his editor.  She was a great place, one of those 2-story green houses in a nice little corner of Govozdno.  Oh well!  Fought a bunch of different looking zombos on the way and that was pretty cool.  

Only a few weird things:

Crawling zombie crawling towards me with their torso underground and only their legs pointing straight up as they "crawled" at me.  Some loot items were spawned in a lame fashion, with rooms full of the same and slightly different colored items, ie. a single bedroom with 6 bandanas in it, 4 red and 2 purple.  Or a garage with 3 tires in it, all spawned inside of each other.

Ran into one dude, we just said hello.  He offered me stuff but I was all green and didnt need anything.

I can only imagine how much better this game runs on a reasonable setup now.

I'm now getting 30+ fps on my X2 Athlon gtx650ti at 3840X720, I can just imagine. Funny I've seen comments about the rain really tanking higher end systems but mine doesn't budge in the rain so far.

That reminds me: I had to make my first kill on 0.60 last night. While playing with Gary and Luc, I made my over to Skalisty Island, and while Luc and I were looting separate areas I looked up to see a fresh spawn approaching me with his fists raised. Of course I knew he had malevolent intentions, so I put some distance between us and ran towards Luc to try and scare the fresh spawn a little. He was persistent, so I pulled out my shotgun and pegged him right in the face from about 15 meters (a fairly lucky shot to be honest). Ruined ALL of his clothing in one shot, too.

It did rain a bit on me, but my settings are all on so low that I barely noticed it was raining, and could only tell by the wetness text in the left corner.  Didnt seem to affect my fps.

Eh, I've said it before I'm an absolute asshole in real life, I'll keep RPing a nice person because it's a fun way to get all of that counterproductive generosity and forgiveness out of my system.

This may be a dumb or somewhat pointless question but.... What's the difference between a database update and a patch?

I have my theories but I'm curious if someone can clarify.

I assume anything that doesn't require a new build to be applied to either the server itself or the client connecting to it. Most likely configuration changes -- i.e. loot spawns, ambient temperature, etc.

So I asked "Can it get any worse?", guess what... yep, I got killed. I was trying to locate GaryWalnuts on top of the hospital and suddenly "You are dead". Guess that was a bad idea. The strange thing was that I didn't hear any whizz from a bullet or the bullet hitting in my body. Didn't hear a crack or the gunshot either.

So I hopped back and forth picking up 10 frames on 3pp in about the same place.

I can't seem to stay connected to any of the few servers I tried this morning. I can open doors etc. as soon as I'm in but after 30 seconds to a minute I can move but not interact. I spawn back in and my location is correct. I first thought I was being disconnected and moving around just in my client but it's not a full rollback when I get back in. How is location data, door states, world/character inventory transmitted and stored?.

Does the database take some time to get it's shit together when they do a change?

Logged back in to 3pp and my guy was where he was with the same items he had one or two logins prior.

I picked up some stuff just as I got kicked one try, I had dragged it but it hadn't showed up on my character yet. On getting back in I had on the cowboy hat from a shed on the way to the raincoat that was at my feet by a boat with the items I's tried to move to the coat on the ground that hadn't shown up as I was kicked. 

I also tried climbing a latter and waiting to get kicked, I was safely on the ground at the bottom of a lighthouse ladder on relog.
