After three years of development of this game, man would think that devs would work faster. I guess they slow down over time.

Btw, render was announced for February last year

If .60 had actually been pushed to Experimental when Bohemia predicted, it would have been unprecedented. The only legitimate criticism I can think of for BI and development of this game is that they are absolutely awful at projecting completion of a part of the project and actually meeting that deadline. When they said end of February, most of us automatically added 4-8 weeks subconsciously I think.

As much as I'm looking forward to 0.60, I can understand why Hicks is careful with the hype. Sure, the game should look and run better, but we're not getting a better game. The lag with vehicles (meeting) will still be the same, the dumb infected will still remain untouched and maybe there won't even be rain/weather. 0.60 is a very important update, but moreso in hindsight and with regards to all the things that can be fixed thanks to it.

It seems Dayz devs are in a 3 month development cycle. That's about the pace for big updates. It's not quite enough at this point. I wish they hadn't announced their beta. At least with this important update they can take the time to make sure it swings. I'm still hoping for a release in February, and I wouldn't mind it being out of the Wednesday maintenance schedule. I would prefer this release for stable and experimental likewise. As I don't think the experimental servers can take the brunt of people who will want to play this update. And it's pretty much the start of the endgame. From here on out Dayz will never be the same. Talk about raising expectations ;)

True, but they NEVER set a deadline for .60 update. They were just HOPING to get it out to consumers by the end of February.

I really hope this update will be big. Not only render and new UI but with big changes to map and new weapons, cars and items.

That would be awesome, but they pretty much announced only the UI and Renderer:

http://www.dayztv.com/news/2016/02/dayz-0-60-update-features-items-list/

While I hope for more, I'm thinking we'll see lots of smaller updates after this. They seem to give VOIP a priority and bring out the radio station next. I'm not really convinced that should even be a priority on the list and wish all the work would go into vehicles, building and AI. Non-essential stuff can be given attention to later.

Every update comes after series of experimental patches and updates, I know that. I play every experimental since .3something.

I just hope that not entire team is working on render and UI and that they made foundations for new weapons and vehicles (Škoda van can use same wheels and other parts, and behave somilar like sedan).

Saiga probably has same animations like AK.....

Whilst I think there are more reasons for legit criticism (this is the part we discussed in the shooter or survival thread) I agree with you on the subconscious adding of weeks or months. I cannot recall an update coming in time or earlier, when they projected, announced or estimated something. If I was them I would just stop from posting any date estimates.

@igor: I hope they have something more to add than just the next weapon, to be honest ;)

Ahh come on! The weather is the one thing I am really looking forward to in the next patch and there you go trying to burst my bubble with your reasonable and grounded conjecture!

You're right, most likely there will be rain and I expect fog in any case. It's just that the devs said one of the reasons that kept them from releasing 0.60 is that it won't stop raining on servers, once it starts.

Damn that's a gloomy thought.

I have learnt the hardway not to take anything the devs say very seriously... i wonder whats happening with all that money they have from selling 1 million + copies ?

Lets not even begin on how un accurate the road map for development is

Well... I think about vehicles.

We keep hearing that the renderer isn't ready for exp... It isn't ready for stable... it isn't ready to show anything other than basically rain.

Vehicles were, apparently, ready... broken but evidently ready enough to release into the wild and they're the absolutely most fucked up thing I've ever seen in any game.

So if they want to keep .60 in the garage for a little longer so that it's "moar ready" that's fine by me.

Hmm are you sure? all he has been doing is hyping up dayz in the same interviews, and gaming shows. I really wish they would start announcing on these forums and not random twitter, or reddit responses. Should we make those accounts to get up to date information and ask questions? Seems it much more updated then this site.

So many delays after delays on announcements alone, its getting tiresome waiting for some live content. I know they need time to complete things, and yes they should not push stuff to the stable branch as more bugs can cause internal issues. Still i would love to see announcements on the website first. Even videos are being handles outside the site.

I dunno, but i cant defend what i dont know anymore.

so the .59+ hotfix forum is locked? wonder if that means .60 will be coming soon enough. I hate figuring stuff out like this, if only we had some announcements here as to why the delays, what we are expecting and what we need to be testing.

Just being silent, and not knowing what we are suppose to test out in the current build means nothing to us. I feel as that we are nothing to this dev team.

Are we not suppose to be alpha testing these products? What is suppose to be tested, and what has changed. Grr where is the PR person for dayz?

what happened to the good old days with alpha, beta testing. Everything has been lost.

I wonder if the delay in releasing .60 to experimental has something to do with the feedback tracker being down for maintenance; presumably so they can update it in the same manner as they did with these forums.

We need more comunication from devs. Cant they see we are frustrated?? OK, progress is slow, there are problems... but why is so hard to write few tweets per day (they have 5-6 lead devs) like: "Problems with "this" or "that" but working on it" or post screenshot, or some pics they are working on.

Other games devs have way better comunication with smaller community. I think its not OK to keep community in dark for weeks.
