I'm not sure how people excuse not understanding something when all the information is at their fingertips.

....Hang on, let me google that for you.  I'm embarrassed at how many times I've needed to use that phrase.

And to not be off topic, how's that persistence working today?  I got 4 SVD mags from a leisurely stroll around the airfield, and I'm afraid to put them down.

In related news, the new barracks at the airfields are spawning all items under the floor; it makes it easy for lazy looters to leave masses of flat valuables untouched.

I've been fine but persistence seems to be hit or miss for whatever reason from what I'm reading.

My bag camp is up to 3 on the ground, and a crossbow that hung around through a reset.

Something that may be a bug or may not, there's clearly been a reset now on my server and the fireplace was kind of persistent. It's accessible, you bump into it if you try and run through it but as far as I can tell it's invisible. It's night time so I cant 100% say there's nothing there but if that's the case they'd make great hidden stores.

Like I said, when this was a bug on experimental 0.58 it was whipping ALL loot spawned in the towns as well.  Since I've yet to once see this happen on live, I'd assume it's fixed.  My camp is within the range that was getting whipped on experimental and on live it's been completely fine.

During exp I spent a day or two in Kamenka at the end of the highway and watched the loot get whiped in town and at the grocery store deerstand including the 2 packs I was using to try and lootcycle the store and see how that was working. Planning a trip back there to repeat the steps and see if my results change, it would be good to know as much information about any lost stashes to see what's going on.

Is rain affecting anyone?

I've had it rain on me multiple times, but have never gotten wet or cold.

I have some water proof clothes, but not a bag.

Having a a waterproof jacket is enough to protect you entirely from rain as far as I know.

If you put some rags or a balaclava inside the bag, and it's not getting soaked in while you are in the rain, then the status is not updating properly for your character on that server.  Be prepared for a crisis when you log into a different server.  I have had that happen a few times in the past where I could run for days in my gorka gear and never get any indication of heating up; as soon as I swapped servers, all the status messages caught up to me, and I died of hyperthermia.

Are blue barrels capable of storing anything? Found one, but, while it gave me the option to pour things into it (which I didn't do), I couldn't store any of my items in there.

Really?

Haven't seen rain in stable yet but was sure a raincoat kept all my gear dry if I didn't go swimming.

Dying to see if it collects rain with the lid open now that you supposedly can add and remove liquid from it. Haven't seen a barrel or rain yet in stable.

Only got on for about an hour tonight. Started in an orchard outside of berezino. ate until i was energized and hydrated. looted most of northern part and came out with decent gear. m65 jacket, spring hunter pants (had orel pants prior), took me a while to find a backpack. but food was plentiful, 2 canteens, found a p1 and 2 mags. found a few boxes of shotgun shells but only long-gun i could find was a trumpet. found 100rnds of .22 tho so that will last me for a bit. haven't seen any zombies as i traveled from there to khelm. have a motorbike helm, slashproof vest, splitting axe, mountain backpack, can opener, few odds and ends. hoping to find a shotgun soon.

oh, and as easy as it was to find apples (and quicker searching it seems).... i couldn't for the life of me find a stone on the beach. i must have done 20 attempts and didn't find one. so i bolted to town to look for an edged weapon and luckily found the axe.

also noticed you now need a blade to tear shirts in to rags. i think that def should be changed back. if someone can carry 100lbs of gear, or a truck tire, they sure as hell would be able to tear up a tshirt lol

going to make my way up to kranostav and NEAF since i'm close. would love to find some kind of animal to hunt.

no rain yet either.

seems to run much better but if they took out the few zombies they had then that would def explain it lol

also the "focus eye" or "zoom" seems enhanced from last patch. but the new 3pp angle makes me feel like my dude is a dwarf. short and bulky.

anywho, liking it so far but i was on a pretty low pop private server so that may explain the amount of loot. will try public soon enough.

Yup, rain soaks everything pretty-much instantly without a raincoat; even for the few seconds it takes to pull one out and put it on.  Haven't seen too much of it on stable yet, but the rag test was helpful on experimental to tell me if the status ticker was not working correctly.

Raincoat keeps things on your body dry. Things in your pack will get wet if you don't have a waterproof pack (Dry Bag, SN Tortilla).

A few hard crashes for me - this last one I had to hard reboot my computer. Usually when driving. First time, spawned in again about 1km from where I crashed (where my truck was).

A couple of thoughts on Trucks, tires and fuel cans. The size of either truck inventory or these other two things should be adjusted at some point. You should at least be able to carry a tire and a fuel can in the inventory. Also, I suppose it makes sense that you can't lift a filled barrel, but wow... makes transporting things a nightmare.

Carrying a truck tire in your backpack should be impossible and the penalties for carrying one should be huge if by hand including possibly breaking your back or spraining an ankle walking.

Btw BCB, have you as a hunter come across any boars yet? I am willing to trade you almost anything you want for just one boar pelt.

I'm afraid to put it down... all my worldly possessions could be lost.  I decided to just carry it with me, everywhere!

Yeah, not in your backpack. I'm only talking about in the truck. It may change at some point.

Are you able to carry it with stuff in it?

Am I the only one who wants to drag hotbar items to hands from the inventory screen?

Maybe it's because I'm lefty but it would be nice to be able to do.

Tire repair kit.

Oh, and has anyone seen pens? In several hours of playing, I haven't seen a single pen. And, I actually want one. Also, haven't seen any 9v batteries, for that matter.

Wheelbarrow or some kind of sled system you push to take away stress on your body. For carrying extremely heavy items over long distance anyways. Kind of like the log sleds you can craft in The Forest.

Why would they put the tent spawns on the roof of high appartment buildings? Very annoying, as always when they come up with new weird and questionable decisions...

Yesterday I found 1 pen and 2 9v so they are there.

How rare are barrels?
