What are these buildings?

Recommended Posts

I think they are schools but have been referred to as police stations in the past as well.

I thought a police station was one of those buildings with a jail in on the first floor and a spiral staircase leading up? Am I wrong? That wouldn't surprise me.

They're small offices.  I don't know why people started calling them schools, as there's no student desks (unless the teachers lied to me and said that a 30+ classroom was considered 'small').

I call them schools.  They're scaled down like every building so I forgive the lack of student desks.  Think there's even a class picture on the bulletin board in the bottom.

Doesn't really matter what you call each building as long as your group is consistent though.

Sadly, This takes me out of the game the most. I wish they would increase the size of the building so it didn't feel so awkwardly small. Like the rooms in the pictured building, even if it was a school, you could get maybe 4 kids and a teacher in each one. I dunno. It just breaks immersion for me.

That is because it is not a school. A school is currently in development: http://imgur.com/a/4Yjqq.

Room on the top floor often has a gun, and a store room on the first floor nearly always has food. That's about all I go into them for.

The roof almost always spawn guns too, or weapon parts and bullets.

Office building really good place to go look for loot. People call it a school but in my opinion in looks nothing like a school.

Yep I refer to them as schools.  They may be something else in the code.

Police stations are the yellow buildings with the octahedral spire and a central spiral staircase.

Fire stations also have quite some nice equipment and weapons/ammunition and are bulky buildings with big red metal doors and an internal square staircase that goes up three floors through large open windows.

I get that. I meant pretty much every building, specifically the residential. That second to last screen shot looks like the room has really good scaling.

Even though we know it isn't, me and my friends still call it a school.

It's clearly a brothel. Whores work the first two floors, and the pimp has his office on the top floor. I mean, think about it. Why else would I consistently find charcoal tabs and antibiotics? It's a prostitutes first aid kit! Plus the assorted weaponry on the top floor is a must for any Eastern European pump.

That would be the inside of the new "Summer House", another new building that will be added soon.

Rags, I think you should request a name change to 'Smartass.'

Contribute to the thread, please.

Also, I call them School houses. Some people call them office buildings.

I'm just curious what these places are called. I seem to have pretty good luck getting stuff out of them, to the point where when I see one I get a tiny bit excited.

Umm, what graphics settings do you have, and what video card?

Just wondering.

Thanks everyone. It was easier to figure out what the community would refer to them as by showing a picture rather than searching for however long through photos on a wiki or whatever and trying to match them up. Just trying to learn the lingo.  B)

I don't really worry much about what my graphics settings are at. The only two things I have I have a preference on are resolution (1920x1080) and Anti-Aliasing (Normal). Other than that, I'm really not sure what they are set to. The other settings don't really make the game look much different and they seem to have little to no impact on framerate or playability. I'm pretty sure my textures are set to Very High. If they aren't, there's no reason they shouldn't be since the game only uses 2GB of vram max and I have 4 (kinda, lol).

I have an Intel i5-4690k and a Giagbyte GTX 970, the mini-ITX version. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5252#ov

In every other game I have played so far since I built this PC two months ago (BF4, Metro 2033 Redux, heavily modded Fallout New Vegas, Evolve, Borderlands 2, Titanfall, The Evil Within) I have been able to crank up most or all of the graphics settings in game. With this one, my frames vary from 20-30 in large cities, 40-55 in towns, and 60 everywhere else no matter what I do. I always limit my frames with Vsync and/or a limiter. I don't see the point in asking my card to output frames that I can't see on a 60hz monitor.
