twinturbonet (DayZ) 294 Posted December 4, 2013 Yea, I'm buying WITHOUT looking at any videos or anything. OooOOooooOo, I'm a REBEL! I trust in further development... no worries brotha!
Max Planck 7174 Posted December 4, 2013 Pffft K2? You need to climb some real mountains Dean! Come to Scotland and I'll take you up Ben Nevis. ;) We have mountains over at my place too! Come try it Rocket, I'll give you a leg up.
rocket 16567 Posted December 4, 2013 If we buy the early access game will we be able to report back on issues anywhere or will it just be certain testers can do that?I like the idea of testing the SA early and actually helping with its development (as far as reporting bugs counts as helping anyway) instead of waiting for a full release. Yes a feedback tracker has been setup already, I think it might be similar to the ArmA3 one but Brian or Matt would be able to confirm that
zfleming12 395 Posted December 4, 2013 Will there be a release of information before as to what we will start with in the Alpha when it releases? Like patch notes, or will that just come when it releases at the same time? I know silly question.
TheRedScare 353 Posted December 4, 2013 Ah so similar to Google's code hosting site? People can make detailed reports and developers can see them.
sparkdogg66 0 Posted December 4, 2013 awesome Rocket thanks for the good news :)

Papanowel (DayZ) 34 Posted December 4, 2013 Yes a feedback tracker has been setup already, I think it might be similar to the ArmA3 one but Brian or Matt would be able to confirm thatThat's perfect, the arma 3 feedback tracker is working well and proves it's utility. AnarchyBrownies 1383 Posted December 4, 2013 A zombie at rest is not a happy zombie. That's your problem right there.* Good to hear things are going well still! Happy to hear you guys are making some big strides. I feel a little bad that everybody over there seems to be working non-stop... only because I can't envision when people are going to get a break if the alpha is released soon. Who knows what catastrophic problems that will bring. Look forward to the release tomorrow. *That's probably not the problem.
diddums 3760 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice work Rocket and Co! I've got one question though: will early access folks be allowed to upload to Youtube?
PhilB 230 Posted December 4, 2013 Awesome news! So happy for you guys. Having once developed a retail business, I know how gratifying it is to open for business on that first day, despite the mountain of challenges still to be met. Once again, so glad you decided to take this route of creating a whole new infrastructure. Really excited for the long term possibilities this opens up. Can't wait to get in there and start identifying bugs, but more so excited to get my hands on some of the new mechanics so I can take part in the refinement process i.e. tweaks, improvements, changes.
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice work Rocket and Co! I've got one question though: will early access folks be allowed to upload to Youtube? I would imagine once it becomes 'public' and any joe can buy it on Steam, you'll be able to do whatever you like (within reason of course!) - as I understand things at the moment, those lucky few who are testing the pre-alpha builds are under NDAs.
Timuka3T 0 Posted December 4, 2013 Yes a feedback tracker has been setup already, I think it might be similar to the ArmA3 one but Brian or Matt would be able to confirm thatI think this was already leaked on Reddit before. Someone found it on your site when it wasn't passworded
klesh 2423 Posted December 4, 2013 I've got one question though: will early access folks be allowed to upload to Youtube? watch streams, read reviews, watch some let's play and form your opinion.

Safire (DayZ) 14 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Thanks for news ! "To enable a smooth launch, we really are targeting it at a core audience who want to get deeply involved in a very barebones experience that is a platform for future development." That mean its going to be copies-limited alpha ? i want to report as many bugs as possible like i did in lot of games, i hope it wont be limited or region restricted :) i would rather pay MORE for alpha. "We need a little more out of the server in terms of framerate. Just a little bit more, to ensure the inventory stays reasonably responsive. The remaining time will be spent tidying up remaining issues to try and give a more solid experience when we kick into the early access." It is going to be hard task or matter of days ? joe_mcentire 2074 Posted December 4, 2013 so you experience these 35 FPS for 1000 zeds atm, or could you already tweak and optimize "some things out"? what about your "initial path finding"...just throwing wild guesses..
ssimmons 72 Posted December 4, 2013 Thanks for the update -- will give me more time play KSP .23 ;)

That mean its going to be copies-limited alpha ? I don't think so. I think he means he would rather have people buying it at this stage who realize what they're getting into, as opposed to people who are of the opinion they are buying some done game and then just bitch and moan.
szfeps@gmail.com 2 Posted December 4, 2013 So maybe otherwise ... when will be ready to release alpha ?
grekain1 5 Posted December 4, 2013 Thanks for the update! I cannot wait for the release but it is vital that you guys get the game playable so we can hopefully help improving it with feedback. But 10 fps while playing won't help with that - so take your time until you are sure to release it.
