I have a question whether this is confirmed or not.

 

Is there a different way of using melee weapons (like a baseball bat) besides swinging it horizontally? Something like raising it up then back down as an attack? :)

I think there will be a lot of tweaking as the alpha/beta develops. I think the number of zombies will be increasing which means if people start seeing larger swarms then killing them will be nearly impossible if their health is increased. Either that will be a wonderful thing or it won't be and their health will have to be reduced again. I can imagine a lot of back and forth on this to find the perfect balance of number and strength. As of right now I agree that they do seem too easy but I also haven't played the game, maybe I just haven't seen enough of the sticky situations they have to offer!

 

I don't even think you need to justify their health with some realistic interpretation of how strong a zombie could/would be. You just have to make a decision on what type of threat you want them to be for the game and adjust their difficulty accordingly. I think they should be the primary threat personally! So quite strong or numerous or both!

Yeah I do understand there will/should be a lot of back and forth on this in the SA but I look at it as... If the Zeds are a true threat, people WILL have to think about shooting first. Will it stop the KOS mentality? Not totally but shooting first will have to be a conscious decision(at least in Zed populated areas) and not just a reaction when seeing another player, or Zeds for that matter. Hopefully they can get the number of Zeds in game they have talked about. Only time will tell but I have faith!

 

I only try to justify my statement with real world scenarios due to seeing the argument over and over about the DayZ Zeds not being undead but infected people. :)

All of those are viable solutions.  They should all be added.  The text system isn't terrible but is rather inadequate

The first bit is actually more interesting to me but I wonder how they'll make them more threatening? More of the doesn't seem to be an option till Beta or Full release. So obviously either faster or stronger is the option. If they choose faster than I'll cry.

 

Fido is a good zombie movie too..

Part of it has to do with making zombies more powerful innately (i.e. giving them more resistance/health and having them deal more damage). But a part that gets glossed over a lot is the way that they interact with the environment and sense things.

 

I still think they should implement some system akin to the police system from GTA.

 

You alert a zombie via direct LOS. Or you alert a zombie through firing your weapon/making too much noise.

 

Zombie(s) have brief access to your exact location and rush you.

 

If you move/hide successfully, they go into a reduced (but still heightened) state of aggravation and look around for you.

 

If they don't find you, they resume loitering.

 

I really hate how it works in the mod where they have 100% access to your exact location regardless of whether or not you're still being loud/visible after having aggroed them.

I think if you meander through a few buildings out of their sight then they should definitely not 100% track you, however they should just keep going forward to what they think would be your position. 

 

If somebody is camping a building in Cherno, you could attract a load of zombies, head through the campers building, go out the back and get away, leaving the camper in a horrible situation.

Agreed. I just want some form of granularity with regard to how zombies interact with the player.

 

The aggro system now is between a lobotomized blind cow versus a laser-guided missile with no in-between.

might aswell ask again wont be answered but hey ho......

 

 

heres 3 questions i would like to know about.

 

so basic questions that should be answered about tools -

 

Q- Can admin see your place on map live ?

 

Q- Can admin give gear or spawn gear for him or others (including vehicles when in ) ?

 

Q- Will other server tools be allowed ? so say a server group/hosting company makes a 3rd party viewing tool will that be banned or stopped? some companies have made server tools that show 24/7 positions and many admins use this currently.

Can you get blood type tests from a shop? My Mum said I was AB+ years ago but she is always wrong...

 

Go donate some blood, they check your blood type, values, they even check for diseases for free. And you do something good!

 

Edit: That's how it is around here, at least. Don't want to say something wrong, but seriously, it's a good thing to do.

Literally made a thread on reddit about this earlier. Basically I reckon people with AB+ bloody type will actually care whether their character dies because of the blood compatibility!

I believe Rocket had mentioned that there will be a variety of attacks for blades and swinging weapons some time back in November.

ok i was more refering to interiors but you have a point here.

 

I will share with you, some personal pictures of my trip to ukraine the other year.

I got food poisoning (SURPRISE!) and had to be taken to an "infection" hospital, you know, the type of hospital that takes shit pretty serious.

It was located in one of the most prized cities of ukraine, truscovets, it has "magic spring water" and draws in many many tourists.

 

You thought apartments were bad? here is a hospital, Anyways, Enjoy my en-suite.

And the best part about this hospital? They were fresh outta WATER and when i first arrived, there were wet patches in the middle of my bed (and none of the others).

Oh this is a one off case? i originally went to a closer hospital in the center of the city, they wouldnt except me in my condition and refered me to the specialised infection hospital. They too were out of WATER.

Biologically speaking, Infected should suffer from infections. Will the infected suffer from noisy inflictions like colds and flu's? Would sounds be attributed to them to locate them? I do mean in addition to moaning and screams.

It would help players locate them especially at night or when doing a recce of a surrounding area.

I do like to play the stealthy approach to games and this is one where you need a certain amount of stealth, particularly when starting off of stalking other players.

With regards item damage, Melee weapons are sturdy from the start, it takes a hell of a lot of damage to reduce them to useless items when using them. What's the scale / range of damage of non shot at items! Eg does it take 50 hits before a baseball bat / hatchet splinters?

It's looking really good so far, nice work all involved, you have created a true master piece.

As much as I liked the stream and all the content in it, I just wanna see some 1080p shots of the game running. Everything is low resolution and doesn't show the game off at it's best quality.
