Quick status update for week 8 November

I will be more than happy to host a couple of servers even though I can't change anything serverside. Just to give the infrastructur for other players.

Like wtf is going on? I could forgive it if this was pushing the boundaries  but like we have GTA V on consoles getting a smoother frame rate with far more going on, even in online and we have BF4 online with 64 players with destruction and everything, yet I get over 100FPS maxed out there with MSAA turned up. People then blame the map size, no it isn't that, you'd still get the same fps issues on small Dayz maps..

 

Man, you always make horrible analogies. This game is pushing boundaries. 1: GTA V is not an MMO. 2: BF4 is not played on a 220 sq km landmass with inventories, crafting, complex health systems, persistent item tracking and storage, AI, none of that. BF4 is s straight shooter. Just because they have some graphically impressive set-pieces means nothing. You simply can't compare the engines. They are trying to accomplish different things. Dead Rising is a totally single player game. At most you've got limited coop, but that isn't 60 players now is it? Just because one game accomplished one thing doesn't mean another game can automatically accomplish a totally different thing. It's like saying "Michael Jordan can play basketball, so why can't BIll Gates play football?!?!" Idiot. Moreover, all of those games had years of silent development, whereas we are literally witnessing the very beginning of DayZ. So all your points are basically moot. Arma 3 is not DayZ. Not even close.

 

Do you ever make a positive post or are you here simply to feed your own self righteous ego through trolling? Seriously. If you don't like the game, why are you even a member of the forums?

This worries me, so even when the Game does come out we are going to be dictated by some servers not within 50,000 kms of our Country, Ohh the fucking LAG I hear you say. SO we cant download Server Files and create our OWN ?  Correct me if I'm reading this wrong, NOT your point of view

There's US, there's UK and there's probsbly Russian servers too. Shhh! Be quiet!

I thought the original idea was to release DayZ Alpha without any zombies; what's happening now?

 

Are they tidying up the current ones to make them playable until they redo the new ones from scratch? Or are these the new ones?

 

 

 

E: I would also appreciate it if someone can link me to the server they are currently testing to peak the number of players.

The original idea was never a DayZ without zombies. Dean joked saying he would release without zombies if needs be, showing his eagerness to get it out. But fucking idiots on this forum flipped their shit and cried like babies.

I may not longer be a TMW member nor have I ever been a musty gamer member, but I respect the hell out of you guys for offering such services to this community and especially for the SA. <3 :D

 

These are the guys that also put in blood sweat and tears into these games as active community members :)

Thanks for the update Rocket, sounds like you guys are all working hard, and have made some great strides. Also, glad to see you mention Project Zomboid, that game is pretty sweet and has some really neat features in it.

Keep up the good work, and don't mind the nay sayers, they know not their own foolishness.

That is exactly why people who actually want to test the early builds of the game have to wait for a "stable build"

I've played plenty of alpha and betas of both mods and full release games. Rocket wants to make sure and cater to people with the exact same opinion as you, and to be perfectly honest, the alpha/beta stages are better off that way.

 

Just sucks for people like me because we understand why these things happen and we're willing to push through it in order to help make the game better.

He is KIWI (New Zealander). As an Ausralian i feel i have the duty to tell you that THEY ARE NOT THE SAME PLACE AT ALL!!!. NZ is close but there is a reason that Australia is a Continent with no other countries involved. NZ is some other continent (that i can't remember).  

 

Other wise, the "Alpher" is probably got to do with his kiwi accent.

New Zealand is actually part of an almost totally submerged continental fragment called Zealandia that broke away from Australia and sank millions of years ago.

I'm disappointed by the FPS issues, ARMA 3 was a total flop, was meant to be an improvement and yet it runs worse than ARMA 2, I don't think I've ever hit over 30fps in either game and I have an 780 + 4770k now and the games run worse than my older PC :\ 

 

Just license out a better engine. 

 

I don't get the argument of A.I either, the A.I is shit, Dead Rising 3 has thousands on screen at once and they act far better. People saying zombies drop FPS in Dayz when there are like 5 on the screen....... I just don't believe it, that or there is something deeply wrong with the A.I. Apparently the system has been changed for SA and yet the FPS issues are still there...

Huh. When rocket says that they are aiming for 15 ticks/s, is he referring to an average of 15 server updates / second (meaning it also goes lower), or an absolute constant minimum 15 ticks?

Yes. I know. That's what the words "average" and "minimum" imply

 

My question is if he's really talking about a minimum of 15 fps, or an average of 15 fps where performance might occasionally be lower than the target of 15

Rocket, after all of these statements and your Q&A's.

 

I became more concerned about the FPS I am going to get in DayZ SA, because I've seen in your previous posts in reddit that you will equate High Graphic Settings Players to Low Graphic Settings Players as there is an advantages for those who is running under low settings in the mod right now (Such as me).

 

In low settings now (In the mod) I get around 20-30 FPS, and even less in the cities, and in Chernarus, Elektro I get a godmode because of my FPS lag, it goes around 10-11  :) I am an immortal in these cities because of my FPS, So I wish if you will deal with this straightly not to force low settings players to run on high settings... not everyone can get the perfect PC, I wish if you will consider this.

Rocket has not said one word about client-side fps except that "the general consensus is that it's greatly improved from the mod". Why is everyone getting their panties in a bunch? :huh:
