    I have to admit that I am playing vanilla only never being a great fan of dayZ mods except new maps. I was only speculating generally, that if Arma 4 will feature next gen tech a DayZ mod could be probably be much better than the original game. About features...I can not see that much amazing features right now in the current game...I think survial mechanics, loot systems and crafting systems have been done a lot now since Arma 2...so no problem I guess, a medical system will be in anyway and a new basebuilding system could not not be more unimmersive than it is now, not to speak from vehicles....It all furter depends on what the final engine will provide... this is a very good point though !!

    Arma 4 or an Arma like title running on Enfision engine will require proper vehicle physics, ragdoll , enemy AI and of course a good and stable MP system. A new Arma title has also of course to overcome the many shortcomings of the Arma series that have been in the game since OFP and definetely bring new elements on the table. Let's assume BI will bring all the good stuff for Arma 4 only without updating current DayZ ...all kind of vehicles, overhauled AI, ragdoll and physics...melee, next gen lighting...improved weather...dynamic snow...underground structures.. etc etc etc... It would take only a short time before someone would create a DayZ/Zombie/Survival mod for Arma 4. Who the fuck would then still play DayZ except for console players ???? thoughts ?

    What a bullshit....the pictures shown are from the next coming Arma 3 Creator DLC which was postponed and will come out in 2021. The dlc is based on a cold war scenario and taken place in the former Czechoslovakia. Taking about the engine ...the announced work on physics and server optimization is clearly part of the ongoing work on the enfusion engine. BI can not develop any new game on this engine, especially not an Arma game without having proper vehicle gameplay. I don't have a clue if this means they are doing things from scratch or trying to implement Arma 3 tech into the Enfusion engine. However having these things fixed will be also a great thing for DayZ. Also DayZ dev team stated it again and again..that they are going to fix and polish this game and add missing content if possible but that we cannot expect new content. If we will see any then I expect to see some of the promised vehicles like helicopters and stuff. Would make sense since they have to test it anyway. This leaves us with the question what else will be in the new enfusion engine...new lighting system and shaders, new weather systems providing stuff like dynamic snow for example, destroyable buildings and terrain...new AI for allies and enemies....terrain features like proper rivers streams and waterfalls...plattform crossplay and how much of the new tech will be implemented in dayZ for testing xD One thing is sure though there will be no DayZ 2 for decades if ever xD

    I figured out what was causing the issue with my trader, I had not added the trucks to the tradervehicleparts in my server profiles, but all the vehicles are still coming in bare bones with admin tools

    Lost interest

    In part, this is true about the roadmap for the development of a new engine for A4. This should not affect the development of DayZ. But DayZ in its current state is a bad advertisement for the A4 release. The work of the development team during the entire period of support and development of A3 is a bad advertisement for any studio product. The A3 has received a lot of good changes and studio work. But it was very extended for 6 years. I don't know who in the studio is regulating the care and attention to troubleshooting the studio's products, it's very frustrating. If A4 is released now, on the same error base as DayZ, it will be a big disappointment. I am surprised by the position of some important problems, the solution to which does not eliminate the problem, but transfers the old problems into the game to the new logic of program interaction. I mean client-server-client synchronization. There was no good synchronization before, and there is no good synchronization now. Moreover, poor synchronization of past products made it possible to populate servers with a large number of players on one server. Syncing from DayZ 1.00 to DayZ 1.10 feels really bad, creating problems for everyone, even with a small server population. Even the good other indicators of the DayZ server, which are significantly higher than it was on the servers in A3, are confusing and not understanding why it looks unstable and so stupid on more powerful hardware than it was for A3. I don't even want to think and imagine how the synchronization with the "client-server-client" in A4, with the AI level of interaction with weapons and vehicles will look like.

    Vehicles Spawn Stripped

    I am having issues with my vehicles. When I spawn one in with admin tools and purchase at traders they come in stripped, wheels, doors, battery.etc. and at the trader you cannot use the key to get inside since the door is missing. Any ideas why this is happening? I even tried this on a fresh server with just cf and community online tools and they spawn in stripped.
  8. I am fairly new to the game but I will give it a whirl. No aircraft, besides cars. Would you really want them introducing aircraft before the other problems are corrected? The hypothermia problem is ok. Hunger is easy to deal with but I do find it odd you have to eat so much to fill your cores from the start. It seems like way too much food for one person to eat. Fishing is easy. There are tents. They can be damaged now. They have added some places to the map. I don't know if there are new weapons. I don't understand your question about pulling the gun up. No bikes. Zombies are on roof tops and have been in my buildings through locked doors. I have not had one of them follow me through a wall though. I think you can make a tent. I know they can be camo'd because I have found them in that condition. No gunsmithing. You can saw the barrels off of some guns with a hacksaw. Yes you can throw grenades. Yes you have to crawl with a broken leg, or risk passing out from walking. I have never found a M4 or full sized AK. Melee is still lagged. Enemies are able to run through you. Sometimes I don't know where I am swinging. Forget about vehicles, they are beyond their abilities.

    Their announce for 2021 says: "With support from new additions to our team, we hope to resolve our ongoing weaknesses regarding some of the synchronization issues and physics-related problems with vehicles." We can only hope that this get solved before it's too late, over past years 'ive hear of alot of people that quit just because they lost everything to cars. It is bizarre at this point, that such a major feature of the game is that broken.

    Sounds like they need to remove vehicles from the game and concentrate on improving/fixing the rest of the game. If you trip in this game its likely you will not be able to open your inventory afterwards. This is much more important and but one example of many.

    I dunno. There are rusted out tanks and columns of destroyed military and civvie vehicles which suggests a longer period than a few weeks. I always figured that DayZ took place at least a few months into some apocalypse, maybe even a year. But that there's still an ongong battle between military elements and the infected, hence, still burning choppers. It's difficult to ascertain, but completely unimportant.

    That's what I have trouble figuring out, the time line. Like someone pointed out there are stacks of bodies in mass graves throughout the map. I don't know how I didn't notice them before. Those bodies would not stay there for long in good condition. Where are the people who stacked those bodies? The yards don't look too over grown, recently cared for really. Most of the houses are in decent condition. Some of the vehicles look trashed to me. They look old. This includes the ships. If It was recent I could see you doing some minor work on one, or even finding one that runs. After the initial fuel and oil is gone on the island I'm not sure what we'd do as there are no game mechanics to make fuel or oil.

    There would be cars everywhere in perfect working order, without any missing parts. If I don't drive my car for a couple of weeks, it still starts first time. Sure, there would be some old bangers you might have trouble with, and a few cars that have had some parts stripped off them. But dayz takes place very soon after some sort of pandemic. Vehicles haven't been stood for years. And we're also talking about pretty basic Russian cars here, no engine management systems. We're talking about replacing a spark plug, a radiator and maybe a couple of wheels. I'd be driving.

    Basic car maintenance doesn't take much in our world. Refined oil, synthetic oil, high test fuel, new filters, new spark plugs, and other supplies are readily available. We can take our cars to the shop for an engine or transmission replacement, straighten a frame, etc. The shops have computers that can give your vehicle's computer the latest updates from the factory. Vehicles that sit tend to have problems. Vehicles that have been subjected to flooding tend to have problems. What would we do if we found an abandoned car like the ones on the map and didn't have all that stuff mentioned above. We'd be walking.

    Hi survivors, I have some interesting content for Dayz. -A new vest, 6b5-15 (Different camouflages). -A new garment, the m88 afghanka ttsko jacket (winter). -A new vehicle, the UAZ 469. -A new weapon, the gp-25 and its grenades. -A new magazine for the VSS, a 20 round magazine. -A correction for gorka clothes, if possible passing them in medium insulation will be really cool. -A new uniform in VSR93 camouflage (a variation of the current combat pants and jacket). -The possibility of applying paints to weapons, magazines, helmets, and even vehicles to make camouflages like the Chedaki. Therefore the addition of black spray paint, olive. In short, I have lots of ideas and suggestions, just the correction for gorka clothes will already be great.

    That they are expanding the team and especially to fix vehicles is a very good sign. Hope they can make a barricading system and let infected break doors open too in 2021.
  19. The Dead Return SA has now changed over to Namalsk! Get some col weather gear, start a fire and ride out the storm. Namalsk is a new/old map with an unforgiving environment. Survival is key, but will you work together to live or kill to take what you need? TDR Namalsk is lightly modded for variety and enhanced gameplay. TDR Namalsk has some extra gear, guns and vehicles, plus a few other surprises. Only some of the items in the mods have been added and they will spawn in line with the rest of the vanilla gear. A few extra vehicles have been added too. Overall, it will be just as hard.     Great year overall guys, and I am eager to see what you have planned for 2021. Thanks for not giving up and pushing on! No need to be a party pooper today - it's on the agenta, not swept under the carpet. Good enough for me, all things considered. That line I quoted is actually very reassuring, it's the first clear statement I've seen in a long long time (ever?) about the issue.

    Item disappear after server reset

    If it is any consolidation I lost a 6 tower elevated base protected by a maze of barbed wire and metal gates, inside this base was enough supplies to build 4 new bases, repair 4 cars, supply 12 clan members with full kits, a stone oven 4 canopy tents 1 improvised shelter 8 barrels, 36 crates, 1 sea chest, 2 generators, 6 flood lights, multiple xmas lights, 1 flag pole, 3 vehicles, all nicely tucked away inside a small ruins outside of kravostav next to the railroad... not very far from kemensk military base. it became too well known and players kept b-lining for it after they respawned.... I had ghillies, blazes, ak-74's, tundras, a big garden! (my poor garden)... But I dint have any NVG storage... but then again- I had a flag pole so things did not despawn after a server reboot. I am out of the base building buisness for now... For I am a new me! For now on- I will just WALK trails and enjoy the buity and do what I like to do the most in Dayz- and that is to find AWSOME scenes with the weather system and graphics and take screenshots of them and upload them to steam. "I am content" BUT... ( always a but) I would love to have more area to hike around with new scenory to discover, maybe a beautiful water fall with a nice ledge over looking a blue lagoon, in which it drains into, a metropolis with blocks and blocks of empty streets as far as the eye can see- *waves hand accross his vision* filled with infected just daring you to enter- and a random infected hord that roams the world searching for the one ring! All inside a 740 square KM map expansion!
  22. Hello Survivors, It's been a while since we last made a proper blog post for the state of DayZ. Thus, I would like to give you a brief summary of the development of DayZ that happened this year. DayZ in 2020 The core work for our team in 2020 was founded on four major updates to support the game and expand on its content. We are happy to see that, although this year presented us with significant challenges due to the pandemic, all updates except one could be released within our schedule. They featured new and returned weapons, the M3S truck, and features such as the cold survival, broken legs, or the rework of the fireplaces. DayZ 2020 in content 5 new/returned weapons Returned broken legs Returned the M3S truck Massive upgrade to the cooking and cold survival Upgrades to Chernarus New base building flags for easier base persistence Continued modding support While 2019 was a year of releases for Xbox, PlayStation, and our Livonia DLC, 2020 was aimed at providing new content for you, as well as stabilizing the game, and giving meaning to survival features. Basic balancing elements of DayZ like cold and hunger finally got their deserved attention, to make the game tough, but still fair and encouraging towards new players. We continue to empower modders and server owners to the best of our possibilities, to allow them to create and shape their own worlds and adventures in them. Modders have had time to get to know the tricks of DayZ Modding, and we have been seeing major additions to the Workshop, with our very own Adam Francu releasing his anticipated Namalsk mod to the public earlier this month. DayZ 2020 in numbers Major Updates: 4 (1.07-1.10) Top peak of concurrent players on PC: 40,545 in February (highest since Feb 2014) Top monthly average of concurrent players on PC: 20,700 over the last 30 days (highest since Feb 2014) from January to November, DayZ saw 4.1 Million new users, with Xbox leading with 2.5M Top viewers on Twitch: 107,352 in August (all-time record) BattlEye bans: 24,000 and counting (in comparison to only 10,000 over the previous 4 years combined) 9,000+ mods created by players DayZ 2020 Year in Review video The Journey continues - DayZ in 2021 2021 is coming in hot, and we want to be ready. A roadmap for the new year is being finalized, and we are looking to expand our team. We are just beginning to check out the next-gen consoles' hardware, which will hopefully allow us to overcome some of the major frame-drops that console players have been fighting with since our initial releases there.     New Update

    this absolutely ....the new engine is and always has been far far away from being completed not to speak from being completed as a next gen engine. The main thing that the new engine brought on the table was making the game run on stable 60 FPS .Other stuff like the new sound system and more was simply imported from Arma 3 and would have also worked with the old engine. The current zombie spawn system is not much different to what we had in the mod and also would have worked with the old engine. The lighting system is still outdated as fuck and for exactly that reason the map does not look and feel dramatically better than before. I know without the new engine we never would have seen 60 FPS and smooth animations but on the other side we should all remember how much content and progress was lost...two years of hard work for the devs now after 1.0 release just to bring back most but still not all of the old content, knowing that we will never see a lot more that was not only promised but also already shown to us...also not to speak about vehicles that will not work properly before the finished the engine completely...when ever that will be.... So for me it really looks like the main reason for the engine change at a time the game was nearly there, was to make it run on consoles. I leave it to everyone's imagination how the game would/could look like today if the they had continued to work on the game for the last 4 years instead of starting all over again ... so yeah that much for consoles xD

    New Update

    Excuse me, the new Player controller and all the BS that went with it including losing most of the weapons, making vehicles server sided, etc was (in part) due to LIMITATIONS of Consoles. This game was dumbed down due to the money grab, it's that simple. I cannot recall a single game made for PC that was made better by supporting consoles... NOT ONE. Developers made more money by "adjusting" i.e. dumbing down their product for the peasants. Consoles are fun for kids, but at some point you grow up and by a PC and experience games as THEY SHOULD BE.
  25. Horses..... Cmon now- they have been working hard on the vehicles... flipping through the updates at a quick pace shows the progress. But inless they have already placed alot of effort into the helicopters, I will agree. But if they have- I will be anxious to fly one. But I will still only walk to it, not sprint at full speed.
