    Experimental Update 1.11 (Changelog)

You misunderstand my post. I was not attacking you. I did expect someone to be butt hurt by the comparison though. It's a good book, if you don't want to read it that's your loss. He was one of the pioneers of modern sniping. 93 is mediocre? lol. That is addressed in the book too. No, it's the best.

Its a rifle designed for urban, close range, shooting where the rifleman is firing from a hidden position. Would you call a suppressed AR15 using subsonic 300 Blackout ammunition a sniper rifle? Don't be silly. People like the VSS because of how it looks and the fact its Russian. Allied Forces used De Lisle carbines chambered in 45acp during WWII to kill sentries. 45acp ball ammo is subsonic, heavy, and slow. The idea behind the VSS is nothing new. While you will find a bunch of fan type pages/articles on the internet about the VSS there is little to no mention of accuracy for this 'sniper rifle'. Shocker. One fanboy claims 1-2MOA. (that's 8" groups at 400 yards if you believe him. I have many rifles that will print better than 2moa, I don't call them 'sniper rifles'.) http://smallarmsoftheworld.com/display.article.cfm?idarticles=1105 http://www.sadefensejournal.com/wp/the-elusive-vintorez-9x39-sniper-rifle/ The Russian has always implemented low cost, low tech, easy to mass manufacture, weaponry primarily because they are comparatively poor and behind the technology curve. I love how people say the AK47 was original idea and claim Kalashnikov was a genius. His design was not influenced by the STG44. They point out some structural and cosmetic differences. LOL If the Russians had the technological/machining capabilities of the Germans they would have probably made exact copies. They did not, so they simplified the design to allow for its manufacture. Did the STG have the gas port over the barrel? the gas piston attached to the bolt carrier? The front sight elevated to compensate for the barrel position? a pistol grip? Whoever heard of using a shortened, 'intermediate' rifle round? 7.65x33mm vs 7.62x39. STG's receiver hinged open, its magazine well was more modern. Is the AK a carbon copy? no. Did they copy the idea of STG44 as best they could? yes. I've seen the rest of Kalashnikov's designs, John Browning he was not. *Puts on Nomex suit* and prepares for the tears. back to sniping: Read "Marine Sniper" for a better understanding of what snipers do. Carlos Hathcock pioneered modern day sniping. https://www.amazon.com/Marine-Sniper-93-Confirmed-Kills/dp/0425103552/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=marine+sniper&qid=1613138679&sr=8-1

I may. How much game software is written natively for 4k (or was not) was the reason I went with the xbox last time. Maybe there are more titles out now that are created to take advantage of that muscle.

They did not steal my pc. I used to be a computer technician so I still play with machines. I built an MX Linux box on an old computer to surf the web, watch movies, and use email. Even in this old machine I have an SSD as the boot drive. Maybe he could tell the pc was not worth much, doubt it. More than likely he did not like the size of the tower. I bought my xbox-s new for $250 if memory serves me correctly. They are more than that now. I have not priced parts lately but I am guessing I could build a 4k gaming box for under $1.5k. I prefer a mouse/keyboard. I just decided to go cheap a couple years ago. Plus I have a lot of friends on xbox. I have not tried to buy one from craigslist, the pawnshop, or other methods. Mine is probably floating around there somewhere. I have not decided to use homeowners insurance yet. I put in a claim, but depending on what they tell me about the items lost (I do not have receipts for) I may cancel the claim. There is a $500 deductible and they will raise my rates $150 a year for 3 years (they did it last time). That is $950 before they pay a dime. also, still waiting on the construction guy to give me the estimate on the window. He's not sure if he's replacing the window or the glass. I'd prefer the window if we have to use insurance. Its boarded up right now... reminds me of Dayz. lol Make sure he knows you can reload by holding down the Y button. Unload by double tapping Y. I didn't know that when I started, very frustrating.

Thanks guys. I did not suffer a huge financial loss but I have not been able to replace my xbox. They are just not available right now.

    Power Attack Controls?

I feel the same way about the reload button. I complained about it here for a bit, but no one seemed to know that you held down the Y button on the xbox controller to reload. double tap to unload.

There's a point where realism gets in the way of fun.

Exactly. We have real lives. I can't live in Dayz, and don't want to. In real life if we were sleeping at our base we'd be there to respond to intruders. In the game we are not. Concessions need to be made to improve the security of bases or the development team should just admit failure and get rid of the base building feature all together. Why did they provide base building? Why do players bother attempting to build a base? because of the illusion of security provided by BI. They've failed us. Some people say you could not have a bomb shelter. Or a sufficiently fortified building. I disagree on both cases. Look at the Vietnamese who dug tunnel systems with hand tools. They used them to transport and store weapons, people, provide shelter, make shift hospitals, etc. It was very difficult to find the entrances. In this game if you bury stuff they use the head lamp glitch to find your stash. Simple solution that will not clutter the map: There should be a feature that hides the entrance your subterranean base. There should be a limit to the number of bases you can own. There should be a storage limit cap. problem solved. You can require resources to build this base. Wood to re-enforce the walls/roof. Pipes to source water, create airflow. A barrel for a fireplace. etc. Come on BI, use some imagination.

Thanks for the heads-up. I hope I can play soon. Someone broke into my house this week, the xbox is one of the things they took. I went on the internet looking for an x or s series and discovered no one has them. I'm hoping for the x as I don't see a point to buying older hardware.

agreed, but you would be able to recognize a person you had seen before. Or one that has been identified by someone else. I don't see you, or anyone else, complaining about the 'who's online' feature. Very realistic, adds so much to the game too. I love having shit eaters email me in a survival game asking me where I'm at, talking trash, or having them use it to stalk me. Great feature.

    How about no.

What the fuck is wrong with loot in this game?

Poor clothing has a lot to do with starving to death. You burn through your food much faster. You need to find good starter clothing on the coast, like work jumpsuits and fireman's gear (fireman's gear being excellent). A pea coat is good but it gets wet easy. Wearing high insulation / water resistant clothing you are more likely to keep your temperature gauge in the white and burn less food.

Zombies getting stuck and not aggroing

    That'd be #3. I still play a little.
