DayZ was playable when it was released. Hell, the alpha is more playable than some "release" titles from AAA developers I've played in the past. Yeah, it has issues but it is definitely playable. As far as Rust goes...I don't know how many times this has to be pointed out...Rust is all good and well...but Rust and DayZ are two completely, entirely and massively different games. Neither game is a replacement for the experience you'll get in the other. They are night and day and Rust is working out many of it's own issues as well.

I wouldn't call people who KOS crucial to the game. In a way, you could argue it actually detracts from the very main attraction of the game. In fact, many players have said as much, that they would be fine being handcuffed, robbed and then killed but when they simply see a "You are Dead" screen out of nowhere, it's disappointing. In fact, the way I see it, the main selling point of DayZ isn't just looting/hopping until you've got full milgear and then running around Kamyshovo killing coasties/etc. The real selling point of DayZ is the interaction between players, both good and bad. That may include people who KOS but there are far more players I would give props to, that engage in banditry and killing in far more unique ways than hiding in the treeline outside coast towns. You can get that hum-drum-ity of camping/spawn-camping players in any online game. The real attraction are those unique experiences, like a player selling shoes on the side of the road, a player running down the road with 5 zombies running after him while he sings, "Thriller", bandits holding up players and then making them take part in trivia contests and numerous other hilarious and thought provoking interactions. Those are the real attraction of DayZ.

I didn't state anywhere that I was offended, nor that you didn't have the right to create your own thread but according to your own "TL;DR" you said, "There is no right way to play DayZ." You also said the game would be no fun without any antagonists, then you went on to say in your reply to my comment you couldn't find any threads in the manner that you've presented yours. Again, not to detract from your points which are valid but...are you kidding? Those are the exact same arguments/counter-points from pretty much every single KOS thread. I don't have to "point out that there's a search function" because it's in my sig. I didn't tell you, that you should have used search either just that this same argument has already been made numerous times in innumerous discussions on the issue. Neither am I hoping that "someone will make [me] an admin" for having a snarky signature that claims searching "is magical." as you insinuate that I'm trying to buck for moderator status. I wouldn't have time and I wouldn't want to and DayZ already has more than enough dedicated moderators and forum admins. You also said you sifted through numerous posts arguing against KOS where according to you, the common responses were profanity and homosexual slurs. I'm not sure if we're reading the same forum because I just saw I think a couple people given forum suspensions yesterday and today for peppering their posts with profanity and bigoted slurs, so that is definitely not a common occurrence, as doing so will get you suspended if not banned. You can "search" through my numerous posts though if you like, and in numerous threads where people post the exact same questions/complaints that have already been posted hundreds of times, I quite often give detailed responses as opposed to "it's alpha" or "use search." I wish people would do a quick search for common issues first but if they have an actual valid question hidden somewhere in their post, I usually do my best to provide a constructive answer. So to recap, your main points were that "There is no right way to play DayZ" and the game would be no fun without antagonists. I completely agree. Those are valid points. Hell, I have even said the exact same thing in a thread over a week ago: (scroll down to bottom of thread) "...The complaints about bandits and people who KOS and the complaints about the people complaining about being killed and both sides telling the other they're playing the wrong way. There is no right or wrong way to play DayZ." I posted that over a week ago and that has also been pointed out in pretty much every single KOS debate on the forum so it's not really anything that hasn't already been pointed out repeatedly. While I can appreciate your attempt to end the debate, it's not going to happen. People are going to continue KOSing "because they can" even against players who pose zero threat and camping in well-known spawn areas like Kamyshovo for example...and people are going to continue complaining about it.

The thing is it's not just TS though...it's TS and Vent and Mumble and Raidcall and Skype and hell, even Steam has built in VoIP that you can use externally just by shift-tabbing in-game. Any attempt to lock down TS, might annoy people who favor using TS but they would just use another VoIP program of which there are countless, if they really wanted to.

I don't mean to detract from your epiphany but this has been stated many, many, Many times by numerous people on the forums and not just by people in the pro-kill everyone party. In fact, there are also numerous threads on this exact same subject that have been merged as well, with countless pages of more discussion on the issue. If you feel the need to make a new thread despite the numerous existing threads, that's your prerogative but you're not really saying anything that hasn't been said already. I don't personally advocate KOS but neither do I advocate for demands that people not KOS.

It's an online game. There are hackers. Just because some people claim they've never seen any doesn't mean there aren't any. In fact, DayZ discussion seems to be pretty popular on a number of hack forums. That said, it doesn't mean it's some wide spread epidemic either. AAA games like Battlefield and COD series have exponentially greater problems with hackers and proportionately less success in dealing with them, especially when they use garbage like Punkbuster. BattlEye and VAC may not be perfect but they are far superior to PB, which from my experience kicks more actual players than it bans hackers.

Sometimes, I'll stash gear when I'm going into a high risk area. I went to the water spigot by the Firehouse on the outskirts of Elektro and I dropped all my gear, save my clothes in a random bush in the middle of the forest, then I went down to the spigot. Sure enough, a bandit runs up and tries to hold me up. I played along and seeing that I had nothing, he was kind enough to let me drink and then go on my way. Then I went on my way...back to my stash...grabbed my Mosin and killed him. Who was the real bandit? :P

Are there hackers in DayZ? Yes. Hacks include aimbots, player/item esp/radar and teleporting just to name a few. Were you killed by a hacker? Maybe, maybe not. Could be lag/desync...could be a hacker. No way to tell, just going on your account.

First off, there are exponentially more things to do in DayZ than the "NOTHING BUT PVP" which you claim. If you don't have the imagination and creativity to perceive that...well...I don't know what to tell ya. Read the forums/DayZ reddit more. Secondly, you want the forum to explain to you why you're being called a "douchebag/etc." I don't know. Why don't you ask the people calling you a douchebag? I don't know you in-game. I don't know if/why you're a douchebag. I don't have any empirical data to make a judgement on your douchetude. If you don't want to be called a douchebag. Don't kill people. If you want to kill people, someone is probably going to call you a douchebag at some point. You can kill whoever you feel like killing. That's your right to play the game how you want to play it...and people who want to call you a douchebag for killing them...that's their right. What's the KoS/Bandit creed? "Deal with it.", right? It goes both ways.

You realized I've already given you an itemized list of reasons why your character may be wiped 11 posts back, right? And you're still continuing to attack everyone in this thread. You started a thread with the title, "Can i STOP LOOSING MY FUC**N character!!!!" (lots of CAPS and explanation points), continued to drop f-bombs in your post, attacked people who tried to help you and complain about their "bitchy attitudes." I don't want to point out the obvious here...but...yeah... You're right, you do have a right to complain. But there's a difference between being "constructive" and what you're doing...which is definitely not constructive.

I see the exact same bitching and childish name calling from the KOS/Bandit4Lyfe crowd. These are also the same people I hear constantly shouting "f***ot" and "N****r" in-game while running around Kamyshovo shooting newspawns. No one is better than anyone else here and there's a reason both sides have these impressions of the other.

First off...do you know the difference between hardcore and normal? If your answer is "No." or you had to google that then...there's one answer for you. Hardcore and Normal mode characters are separate. There...now you know. Secondly, since it seems like people love to come to the forums and complain about shit without bothering to SEARCH FIRST ...I'll just save you the time and tell you, here are the common reasons your character gets wiped: 1. Server de-sync 2. Server not whitelisted on Public Hive 3. Character data corrupted 4. Random bugs/glitches If you server hop frequently...you exponentially increase your chances of joining a de-synced server, non-whitelisted server or your character data being corrupted. Now, if you're wondering why you got so many shitty, unhelpful responses it's because you posted such a shitty thread. If you had searched first you would have found only like...A GAZILLION (yes, that's a real number) threads EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE...with the exact same explanations.
