Winchesters....where art thou?

I've been all over Chenaurus for days. But, I cannot find a Winchester much less a hunting scope. Any ideas where the Winchesters have gone? And hunting scopes?

Yea, I've been finding PU scopes. Even found 1 pristine PU scope the other day. Mostly damaged PU scopes though. Anyway, I haven't seen any Winchesters in .58. I would be curious to know if anyone is finding Winchesters on stable .58.

Haven't found one either, I've been hitting all the hunter houses, deer stands, and residential spawns.

Winchesters spawn in civilian cars mostly. My buddies and I have found 3 or 4 this patch (0.58). Hunting scopes are in deer stands of course.

I've never seen/found any Winchester 70 at all. The only one was from a shot player (not by me and the corpse had already been removed) in the middle of nowhere in the Novy/Stary Sobor region.

I found one in a sandbag shelter at nwaf- our group has three of them... Found there, a deer stand and I think a barn. I've been finding weird loot "near" loot spawn locations- not like stuff dropped... A pile of rifles next to a tent... And actually some good civ weapons on top of the light towers (nwaf again) and on cranes. Two augs laying out in front of south Quonset in the middle of the taxiway- not a chopper spawn. Stuff like that seems to be happening with irregular regularity.

Definitely a bit more luck involved- wish I could help more but at the same time I'm glad I can't. The Winchester is my favourite too so I understand how frustrating it can be... But we found some. Took 4 of us but we found some.

Found mine in a kiosk in severograd.

Found several hunting scopes all in dear stands and hunting stands.

Afaik there are only 8 per server which dx plains the rarity.

Found a hunting scope in a deer stand. Haven't seen Winchesters. I find enough repeaters though.

the winchester seems to spawn quiet randomly in civ buildings & cars, has become really rare. hunting scopes arent really that hard to find, seek rarely visited deer stands.

I found a Winchester a couple days into .58, in the deer stand at 044 031.  Will trade for 2 AKM mags, or just give it to ya if you don't have any mags.  ^_^

My buddy found one the other day, and I got him the scope for it from a random deer stand. I spent like 3 hrs last night looking for a hunter's backpack though and couldn't find one... anyone happen to know where those typically spawn?

Go North. Not Stary Sobor north either. Like Stary Yar north. Look in the sheds that have walls made from horizontally placed boards that are mismatched leaving gaps that you can see through into the shed.

so it seems there scattered in the grass mostly, everytime sum1 gets one they probably go to NWAF..

Yup, this. I don't understand the boner everyone has for the Winchester. They both use. 308 and the B95 allows for a follow-up shot.

Add to that the current bug with speed/snap-loaders and you're good to go.

Not in my experience—as a matter of fact, I find the B95 to be extremely accurate, even without a scope.

So I took a 3 hour tour across the top of the map checking those sheds... and I actually did find a hunter's pack in one of them all the way NW at Sinistok. Thanks for the heads up :)

If you play "right" with it, the B95 is arguably the most effective firearm in the game. Got 3 kills in a row last night at the NWAF with the Blaze, against guys with assault rifles. 

 

You just have to know how to skirmish.

Gotta love that burst damage. I would argue it has the highest .5 second damage output in the game at range, only behind maybe the SVD. It's limited capacity also forces you to stick and move, like you said. What do you do with the automatics these fellas leave behind? Bury them? Use them as bait?
