Exp Update: 0.58 + Hot Fix.

Recommended Posts

Hmm, pointing this out just in case anyone else comes across it, it may be a one-time thing, maybe not.

Just found a car tent (the first thing I went looking for).

I carried it back to a remote area,  pitched it but I didn't like the location, so I packed it and moved it over a little bit.

Didn't like that spot either   so I packed it again and *poof* - gone!

DayZ is penalizing me for my tent placement OCD  :P

I'll try logging off and on and seeing it it's still there

edit:  logging on and off fixed it.    Tent appeared back in my hands!

Ok i think the bug is gone i meet another player and he was running around

maybe 100 meters in front of me and no gun glitch happened.

I wait there a minute and watch him but no problem so far.

Edit: Its still possible that the bug will happen but for me it doesen´t at least this time.

People on reddit are saying similar (unless that's you over there too)

Fing and I had a similar camp.  Enough for 10, if not 15.  Someone found it and took everything but a few of the barrels.  Last time I found someone's camp, I left an MP5 with mags and an extra combat knife in boots, and took a bit of food.  Left them a note saying that I might use their camp to drop stuff off, if that was ok.  Got wiped before I could go back and see if they had moved or responded.  Much more interesting things to do than just throw stuff on the ground and drive off with the guns.

It's pretty amazing how much they ran off with. I mean, we would never come close to using it all .. I don't see the people who took it coming close either heh. It was accumulation of 4-5 ppl collecting gear. I don't mind people raiding the camp, it's part of the game, but I would hate it if ppl robbed it because they were server hopping and the gear is no longer on the server. Not a big deal anyways since there was a persistence wipe heh.

Like you said, i'd much rather just take what I need and replace it with something similar if I found a camp.

Something similar happened the other day on the previous build.

Also, I was crashing to desktop a few times when I tried to pick up items on the ground that weren't actually there. A friend of mine dropped his blaze but picked it back up but I didn't know so I tried to pick it up and I locked up and crashed. The same thing happened with an unpacked tent at our camp, tried to pick it up, made the error sound and crashed.

That sounds awesome! I am stuck with fooking work for a solid 10 hours now, and all I really want is to check out Dayz. I am working faster and more concentrated, so I can still put in an hour or two tonight. Shame I couldn't take any pictures, before the persistence wipe. For being a solo player, I had made some nice camps. Fair enough that the character's ain't wiped. At least I still have my pistols and the CR527 + ammo with me. Looking really forward to playing this with this damn annoying glitch fixed :)

And new impressions so far? Is anything else working properly that wasn't before? What about chopping wood or skinning animals. Are you still losing gear doing that? I wanna play naow... :(

I've got to do some stuff around the house before I can justify logging in, are there a limited number of servers right now or lots so I can find a low pop to do my low pop stuff?

Both ColdAtrophy and I dropped all our gear and committed suicide to start fresh.

I'm not dropping things from hands automatically or having any problems with the hotbar or item swapping within my character.

Items are still "ghosting" on the ground however.

I can drop an item and then return it to my bag but it leaves a ghost of the item on the floor which anyone nearby can then take or use. (Old well documented bug, I know.)

Things ran well for me and I only experienced slow down a couple times.

I ran into another player before my friend and I could meet up.

I was approaching a police car when I saw him approach from another angle.

I backed away from the figure all clad in white and told him I wasn't going to shoot.

He, hands empty, arms at his sides, did the friendly dance but kept a safe distance.

I told him he could feel free to loot in safety and that I was leaving the way I entered.

Had he typed or chatted I would have offered a trade.

I'm just glad to have had another neutral encounter (I've had great luck with player interaction for quite a while now).

Cool, I tried it out and approve ;) It seems spawnpoints have been tweaked a little bit, too. The mix was a bit better than when I last played the newest exp after wipe. However, that still needs to be tested a bit more thoroughly. Had a couple of issues though.

I found 2x wire in a shack, but could pick up only 1. Closing the door didn't help. However - that was the only item I found myself unable to pick up.

In the police stations, near the backdoor is a spot, which I believe was empty when I entered the station. On my way out, I found a glowstick, 2 1911 mags, an empty P1 one mag, Quickloader, empty 22 cal mag in that spot. Somehow they seemed to have all spawned after my arrival. Will be checking this some more.

After spraypainting my CR527 green, I lost the scope (but not the magazine); at least so I thought. Game crashed a moment later and when I reconnected scope was back on.

Apart from those minor issues I've had no problem with dropping weapons or other stuff yet. However, it is a bit early to tell, and I only played for an hour. Got a truck already :) Seems like batteries spawn a bit more often now.

-> Just saw: 666 posts from me, as of today :)

No problems with hotbar and didn't loose anything from the hand. Played about hour and half. No zeds. Few slowdowns.

ok, i noticed one loot-bug, but i dont know if it is new.

i needed to make space in my inventory, so i dropped my cooking pod on the ground to switch items. the pod suddenly dissapeared in the house.

another bug: i dropped my sporter from the inventory to the ground while having an iz18 in hands. i switched the iz18 to the inventory and wanted to pick up the sporter into my hands. but i didnt work, i couldnt press F while aiming on the gun, i couldnt right-click and take, and i couldnt drag and drop. i also could not put any other item into my hand. at the same time, i saw in the chat that 5 players were kicked from the server. maybe a server-lagg? i relogged on the server, and everything wos good. i still had both weapons.

That seems like an awful lot for you to pass up on a first walk through but if some mags were empty then it had to be a player who dropped them, right?

"Near a door" also sounds kind of like glitched item drop, like someone dropped some stuff inside the station and it appeared by the door instead of at their feet (a well documented bug).

But by all means, go forth and loot farm a Police Station, for science!

Edit: In 1 gray single entrance barn I found a mosin in one corner and a sporter in the other corner. In another barn of the same type I found an amphibia in one corner and a carbine in the other. All in the NW section of the map.

How many people are able to find materials to craft a backpack before finding one?

I've had a lot of trouble finding burlap (even though its high on probability), rope is easy because you can craft it.

I know it's a long ways till this matters. Regions! cant wait.

I found burlap a couple times before I found prefab rope....

Both myself and my friend both crafted bags with burlap and rope before finding backpacks.

I noticed:

- when the inventory is full (no free slots) and you search for a stone/craft a stone knife/open cans, they are invisible in your hands; you can only throw them away or eat them to get the hands free
- saw many ghost-items (like BioHaze said); can't pick them up (drag into hands/double click - nothing) mostly weapons and ammo; if you split the ammo - half is in the inventory, half vanished
- if you are on the upper floor, you can see the items which are under you and you can use them
- if you drop items on the upper floor, they spawn outside of the building or inside under you
- do we have a new vault animation, when carry a weapon in hands? I usually don't carry two weapons, so I dont really know...
- very nice people on exp...was killed in the first five minutes as a fresh spawn
- loot is enough and a good mix, let's see how it is in a few dayz

so far, good job devs! :beans:

Try garages or deer stands for burlap sacks. Its pretty common imo.

mhh, I don't think so - from the devs side, (I play with -newui since it's available) but they fixed nearly every disadvantage. You can walk/run while inventory is open, climb ladders, etc. Only thing is you have no indicators for hunger/thirst/health in the inventory. Works fine for me :)
