From what i seen somewhere, such containers supposedly protect your stuff from damage - even if ruined, items inside are not affected. I couldn't test it really (i`m not a suicidal type). Jerry cans spawn in all sorts of sheds. Did the small protector cases change? They used to take up 4 inventory slots, now they take up 6. I used to like this "Tardis" effect of being bigger on the inside. What is their advantage now? That your rice doesn't get wet, if you have no waterproof backpack? GaryWalnuts 1680 Posted August 16, 2015 I do believe the stable natives are getting restless.I got my 3rd defensive kill in two days - and that's 3 more than the whole month combined :P I was minding my own out in the fields near Vavilovo, popping a few zeds with a silenced 1911.And I see this guy way off in the distance sprinting full speed at me, not zig-zagging or being evasive, just head-on at me.I put my gun away and I noticed he was double-carrying, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and caught my breath.I mean, he has to be friendly - what's the point of sprinting directly at someone, through an open field, while carrying a scoped long-range rifle? As he got close he stopped and I said "what's up? do you need anything?". No response. Then he decides to raise up the scoped sks at close range ... about 3 or 4 meters ...I did the zig-zag thing and he got one shot off that missed and I pulled out my aug,his second shot injured my arm and then I just sprayed about 30 rounds into him.I can't believe he even hit me, he must've felt drunk between the sway and the scope... The unbelievable thing was that he had a fully kitted pristine mp5 and 30 round mags on his body! But regardless tonight after work I'll get in my last play sesh (hopefully) with my two experimental characters (they've been alive since the last character wipe )!This would be a slap in the face if this build hits stable. Not sure if you have been playing, but this weapon glitch almost makes pvp impossible. I know we all don't play pvp but in the instance that it's a necessity, you gun will start shouldering on it's own multiple times in a row, not even giving you a chance to defend yourself. It's survived and protected the goods through a desync on barn stairs that broke my legs, getting out of a moving truck, and keeping my matches dry fwiw through many swims in practice for when that matters. It could be the proximity of another player, but what would make it happen 5+ times in a row, I mean not even a second in between. As soon as I rearm, it'll immediately go back to the shoulder. Or are you talking about the animation gun glitch? That's not what I'm talking about. This new bug, your gun a actually gets put in your inventory / on your shoulder without any input from you. So you have to manually drag the weapon or use your hotkey to rearm it. And it'll happen multiple times in a row. Hell if anything, we should run with the gun on our shoulder, and the weapon goes to our hands when we see someone or however it works heh. It happened so often to me in the past that, after a firefight, I still had my rifle in worn, but all my mags were ruined. So that is definitely an improvement, however, I did not see the effect of taking up four slots and offering six inside as unrealistic. As you can pack stuff tighter and better organised in the small container, it is believable to offer more slots for storage. I am not a great fan of it taking up 6 lots, but I see the idea, because most people would carry them next to each other in their backpacks. Ammo cans are the same now, hold 8 take up 8 but they hold anything not just ammo. 1 thing they're really good for right now is protecting a truck battery if you're worried about taking fire while carrying one. I mentioned this explicitly earlier in the thread :S all containers act as protectors now. so just grab all the cooking pots, frying pans and cases you can get. they all keep your gear pristine. I was driving around in the deep North West, looking for the truck I wrecked the other day, when I decided to make a pit stop by a feed shack near the edge of the map. Finding nothing special I'm about to drive off when I see a hint of blue peeking out from some bushes. I run up to investigate and low and behold a civilian tent! It doesn't have much, just some basic survival gear, but it was the first tent I've seen in this iteration of exp. Damn cannibals! On a side note does anyone know how to get ride of nausea in this patch? I thought that I had thoroughly cooked these deer steaks up and they ended up making me sick. I know this was tested at some point a long while ago, but failed. I mentioned this explicitly earlier in the thread :S all containers act as protectors now. so just grab all the cooking pots, frying pans and cases you can get. they all keep your gear pristine. I was under the impression that container type gear, clothes, cases, etc acted as a buffer needing to be ruined before damage got to you but my recent truck and stair injuries say maybe not. The nausea goes away over time as it used to do. But you will get into very sick states, even if you only have mild food poisoning. When you get the message: "I feel tired", "I feel worn out", or something along those lines sit down and maybe eat or drink. I was not aware how close I got to death last night, as I only checked what all the status messages meant today, but eventually if you just eat and drink (especially drink) a lot and keep yourself energised and healthy you should get out of poisoning fine; or just take some charcoal tablets - I only managed to find Antibiotics and Water Purification, but I'm sure there is charcoal, too. Notice also that you can get food poisoning from overcooked food. I am not sure if that is how I got it, but it would make sense, since it only happened after the charcoaled piece of meat I ate. All the ones I ate before I took off the stick after the model for them changed 1x. And they seemed to be fine, both fish and deer; only thing is that the message reads "you ate some raw fish", but I guess that is a placeholder. Did anyone notice yet, you cannot put containers into containers? At least the cooking pot won't go into a barrel, and I think the protector case didn't either. It's good to know they will protect my gear and interesting idea with the ammobox, too. I need to find one. Last time I saw one was on the road in Elektro. I counted around 20 bone heaps in the area, and met about five people, who were luckily not as well armed as I. Only way to save myself though was to run. Last time I'm visiting Elektro for a while ;) I like the quiet life and the game down at the coast is so different. I'm not even sure I like that. Layers upon layers of safety there :) But what I meant was you cannot put the cooking pot into the barrels. Probably no containers at all can be put into the barrels, not really sure, because my five barrels are full ^^. So I can't test with my protective cases. The guy who finds my camp will have a field-day. I don't have tons of weapons, but I have enough bleach to dissolve a small village, tons of gear of all purpose and a few weapons, mostly pistols + mags and SKS and Mosin completely pristine and equipped. Most of the time I just run around with the crossbow and a pistol though. I lose 2-3 weapons every day, due to glitching. So I have to keep my supplies stocked ;) Haven't died since hypothermia, despite meeting (or seeing and evading) lots of people everywhere. I usually avoided those full servers on stable, because I thought it would bring down my ping, but heh this is so much fun now even without the zombies.
