Stable Branch - 0.54 Discussion

As always, we will be watching server data, and the feedback tracker for any potential severe issues and will address them accordingly with a hot fix. For any bugs/issues you run into, please let us know by filing it on the feedback tracker: http://feedback.dayzgame.com

New items:

- Improvised suppressor.

- Water Pouch.

- Bone Hook.

- Bone Arrow.

- Pile of bones.

- Carrier plate with attachable holster and pouches.

- Blood bag now gives and takes twice as much blood.

- FN Trombone.

- New animals.

- V3S Cargo version.

New mechanics:

- You can craft improvised suppressor using water bottle and duct tape.

- You can craft bone hook out of pile of bones.

- You can craft bone arrow out of pile of bones and improvised arrow.

- Weight added to all items and clothes.

- Caliber of ammo affect suppressor degradation.

- Horticulture - Potato plant and its growing process.

- You can dismantle the FN Trombone.

- Continuous consumption and item use prototype.

- Items now shows only rough estimates about its weight and volume of containment.

- Cooking mechanics changes.

- Fireplace mechanics changes.

- Fluid mechanic tweaks.

- Blood mechanic tweaks.

- Weapon degradation.

- Suppressor degradation.

New animations + audio:

- Placeholder SFX for improvised suppressor (standard suppressor SFX).

Reworked locations:

- Devil's castle.

- Pik Kozlova.

- Black & Willow Lakes.

- Bor village.

- Quarry near Solnichny.

Map:

- All old rocks models have been removed and replaced with new ones.

Programming:

- New spawn tags added to all buildings.

- Degradation values set for pistols, rifles and silencers.

- Blood regeneration nerfed.

Fixed:

- Pouches for vest is now displayed properly in hands.

- Suppressor position on Longhorn while reloading.

- Message when loading ruined ammo.

- Spliting stone using pickaxe will give you smaller stone with correct damage state.

- You can no longer use mace for cutting raincoats into armbands.

- Mace can no longer be used for skinning.

- Force feeding guts text.

- Thermal mechanic fixes.

- Server stability fixes.

- Performance fixes (server).

- Bullet pentration fix.

Known issues:

- Animals spin in one place.

- Animals die randomly.

- Animal navigation.

- Animal animations are playing at a wrong resolution.

- You can drive v3s while knocked out.

- Only 1 person can get on back cargo of v3s.

- Random desync.

- Random client crashes.

- Random server crashes.

Any word on how much the plate carrier can take in regards of space?

 

I believe It is 10, and you can put a pistol inside it aswell (not sure about this)

Apparently DayZ isn't updating for me yet, while other people are already on.

Whos on? i'm  thinking were waiting for steam to bring the update to each region, which unfortunately means each region of the world gets it at slightly different times... but im sure its coming in the next hour for everyone =).

 

EDIT: DOWNLOADING IT NOW! I'm near boston so hopefully eerone else gets it in a few mins if not now!

What's the persistence status in this patch?

Mandatory on all servers now or still just an option to the individual admin?

Also are there still weekly persistence wipes?

Is this with the attachements or just the vest?

I don't believe the Plate Carrier has any internal storage. According to my buddy's screenshots (link below), it sits at the top of your inventory like gloves do, for example.

 

You would have to add the pistol holster to carry a handgun, and the attachable pouches in order to carry other items, both of which must be found separately and attached to the vest. I'm not sure what kind of space the attachable pouches have, but I would guess maybe 4 or 6 slots?

This sounds interesting... is this while unconscious I take it? As if you've been shot inside?

The real question is, when all pouches are found, where does the pistol go? Directly inside the vest or is there an external pocket for it?

Kinda depends on how fast they suffer from degradation. I just hope it's not as ridiculous as Dying Light's weapon degradation system.

Hmm. I'm not sure how all that will actually look in the inventory. I guess we'll find out! I know how it's supposed to work in theory, but I don't know what it will actually look like in the inventory.

I'm assuming weapon attachments were wiped or are bugged out, any word on this? I logged into .54 and my gun is stripped from everything but its mag.

Give Eugen a bit of time. The attatchments have been renamed internally over the last iterations, they might be there, the game just can't find it's models.
