Ok so I'm disappointed, someone made a comment earlier about skinning humans, and I haven't heard a single thing about cannibalism in game. I've yet to find a knife so I haven't been able to optest

I had something similar happen to me too. I dropped a mosin to put it on my back but it disappeared. Then several minutes later when I took out my axe to kill a zombie I noticed my mosin was on the ground....so ya, weird stuff with weapons or items in general.

Ok, so I found a work around to avoid some of those issues with a gun in your hand and one on your back...

- Say you have a shotgun in your hands and a mosin on your back > Use the red x to drop the shotgun and go ahead and eat something > after eating, the shotgun is then seen in your inventory, under your bag(if u have one) > now equip the gun on your back > now the shotty is dropped on the ground for real > You can put the mosin back on your back and take the shotgun into your hands and all is good in the hood

- In short, if u see something in your inventory that should be on the ground just pull out your main weapon and then put it back to truly drop the item

Dear Forum

I have a issue with unbelievable low FPS, like 2-3fps. And this after the .51 in exp.

I played .50 and it was soo beautiful and smooth, and .50 on stable the same, but when loading .51 it is so laggy that I can´t hardly rotate my figure in the start screen or fiddle with settings...one has to wait for a couple of secs after every attempt to move the mouse.

I followed the advice here above to dedicate my comp to Nvidias graphic card and that made no change.

Before I start to dig into my hardware I would like to hear if others have encountered the same? And possible causes for this.

I so want to go back into exp for exploring the news. Plz help me, and thank you for your patience.

Best Regards

Gubbjeveln

Dear Forum

I have solved my problem, thank you. The clue was when above discussed that DayzExp has a NEW .exe file.

One has to load - in the new experimental, then go to nvidia settings and search...and find the new .exe file. After that one can force the computer to use nvidia grafical card for the new game .exe file.

It took me some fiddling (I am not working with computers inside on daily basis = novis) but now I got it working.

This posted for those of you who need help in this matter. Now back to become whacked by Z´s and shoot on by bandits.

:)

Best Regards

Gubbjeveln

pls dont mind me asking this but can we expect First Person Experimental Server?

I enjoy first person server since the mod, more than 2 Years now and i (as well as a lot others as well i guess) would really appreciate it.  Especially for the weekend when were home and can play it.

if you can add 1 or 2 First Person Server or perhaps change 1 or 2 of the current Third Person Server to First Person.

What happened to the First Person Server? Everytime i try to check i see none, but the other .49.50 etc. exp versions always had a few first person server.

I can see the people coming to this forum crying shortly. "Wah wah! Me and my friend were walking through electro and these bandits captured us. They killed my friend and made me watch as they skinned him and force fed me his remains raw and left me with food poisoning. This game is too much for me now, i want my money back, I can't take anymore."

I can see the people coming to this forum crying shortly. "Wah wah! Me and my friend were walking through electro and these bandits captured us. They killed my friend and made me watch as they skinned him alive and force fed his remains raw and left me with food poisoning. This game is too much for me now, i want my money back, I can't take anymore."

I guess that's why it's 18+

I came across some guys in electro who said and appeared to be very friendly, I shot at a zombie and they gunned me down cos they thought I was shooting at them.. When I was at "you are dead" screen I heard there conversation, "man you should have told us you were going to shoot!", "man.. do you like.. think we should eat him?" "hmm yea.. ok.. lets eat him"

I was definitely confused and a bit creeped out

I personally don't like cannibalism. Some say it had "realism" or "authenticity", but I'm pretty sure it's gonna cause some issues in some parts of the world. There's no reason to add it in my opinion. In a way, it's gonna make KoS of fresh spawn go up and become even more frequent, as players will skin them to make food. They used to be killed for fun by some, now a lot of players will have a reason to do so...

I agree. But not because of the "issues in some parts of the world" - there are always will be people out there offended by this or that - but because it essentially reduces the chance of friendly encounters by great margin, and this kind of encounters are already infrequent as it is.

yep it is a video game it is 18+ and it does have some pretty dark features... But the fickle minded will still trip into the dark room of despair and complain

Hehe,

All this talk about certain countries would have problems with cannibalism makes me think of the original Carmageddon lol.... but I am thinking of the version with robots instead of zombies.

Maybe a toned down version of skinning someone would be to have some animation of your character tea-bagging the dead corpse.. and Presto! you have a tin of beans instead haha :D

While I agree that some 1st person servers should be online, so many people lamenting their absence seems quite strange to me: 1st person european servers during experimental 0.50 were the less populated of the whole list...everyone was playing (or trying to log in) in 3rd person ones. A lot of those 1st person servers were down to 5/8 people every evening, against the 50/50 players 7 days on 7, 24 hours on 24 of the 3rd person ones.

Thats actually not what I experienced - first person servers were just as populated as third person ones when I checked. The reason people are lamenting is actually quite simple: Third person sucks - it turns the game into peeking simulator 2014 (and hurts the development of features based on line of sight like helmets or a particularily bulky object obstructing your vision).

I'm going to be honest, the stable branch is now at such a playable level that I am tempted to stop using experimental servers, the only major jump I can see is the introduction of vehicles, but until then if the experimental is going to reduce the number of 1PP servers I can play on and introduce possible new bugs I'm not sure if it's really worth the time remaining on the exp branch.

It's a videogame.

Yes, being played by human beings. It may not be real, but those people are still using their brains to make very disturbing choices. BUT, it is realistic, and that's what really matters.

This is really my only issue with it as well. I don't care that it's messed up (that's everyone's individual choice to make), I care that it's going to make everyone more aggressive towards each other. That part worries me. Who knows, time will tell... perhaps it won't change anything at all once everyone has had their "fill" of it.

Which just proves to me that first person isn't nearly as popular as some people make it out to be. It should still be an option though, in my opinion.

There aren't that many people lamenting it from what I can see, and my experiences are the same as what DocWolf said in that I saw very few people playing on those servers when they were available.

Stop preaching your narrow-minded opinion as if it's fact. You're in an extreme minority so you can stop acting like you speak on behalf of the community in this regard.

Probably you played in a different area: I was online often during experimental 0.50, and in the timeframe between 20.00 and 23.00 european 1st person servers were costantly underpopulated. That said, I agree that there should be 1st person servers online regardless of all considerations.

It's true that the 1PP servers are less populated but then that's because people like to play in cheat mode because they aren't very good at the game.

It's still a game. Our characters are semi-identical clones with a lifespan set in days, tops. DayZ hardly humanize characters, and players controlling them react to this. If this was truly a realist survival simulator set after a societal collapse I'd agree with you...but it's a videogame. And besides that...there's something to say about a playerbase that sistematically murder fellow human beings instead of cooperating towards common goals. Even during the first iteration of experimental 0.50, when people were dying in droves at the spawn zones I've seen (and experienced) very few signs of collaboration...just a very basic, unrefined and widespread aggressive behaviour. There's no need to use cannibalism to think about players making disturbing choices IMHO.

This is really my only issue with it as well. I don't care that it's messed up (that's everyone's individual choice to make), I care that it's going to make everyone more aggressive towards each other. That part worries me. I agree with you. At the moment there's already too much drive towards aggressive player behaviour: melee and ranged combats are, to be brutally honest, the only complete and decently working game mechanics. Adding cannibalism may (or may not, time will tell) further exacerbate this propension towards aggressive behaviour...the risk is setting a mentality that players will hardly change in the future. Most of us are abitudinary animals, and if we start playing a sandbox videogame in a certain way we will continue to play it so, even if it's not one of the way it was intended to be played. Well, time will tell.

What part of the world are you thinking of?  I can't think of a part of the world were cannibalism is acceptable.  But its only a game.  I assume it has a 16 or 18 rating on it.

Its so much easier to find other sources of food than it is to kill, skin and cook someone.  Obviously its gonna happen.. sounds kinda creepy and therefore perfect for this game! :)
