They seemed to have changed it into a more friendly season, at least I managed to run from Elektro to Green Mountain, with plenty of detours for looting on the way, without losing my green energised and hydrated status, in fact it was only as I was leaving Zelenogorsk for the second time that I got the "Thirsty" message.

 

Yeah but if it's faster at all that makes it even more ridiculously hard to survive that first while so why change that right now?

Can anyone give some info on can opener bug? For me the can opener is opening nothing. Canned sardines can't be opened by anything but a shovel now does open things but screwdriver does not.

Also, is anyone actually having trouble with food? Not only is it everywhere again the calorie/hydration loss rates appear to be nerfed independent of it being warmer.

Hm, I've had absolutely no problems with thirst and hunger at all. In fact i am energised and hydrated since like 10 minutes after I've spawned.

I saw on reddit that can opening is being rewritten and that's probably the cause of the bugs.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say. But I don't think it is ridiculously hard to survive. Obviously it was difficult in previous build of 0.50 because it was set to December, but I think they learnt that they need to tweak the numbers even for that month, because that was a bit silly.

Can opening is ondergoing a complete re-write at the moment ( confirmed by a dev on reddit ). The goal is that you will be able to open cans with almost everything in the end. I've tried the crowbar and it worked, only left 15% food in it. Currently i use a splitting axe, which is an excellent can opener as it almost always leaves >90% of food remaining. Also telescopic Batons work.

 

And sardines are immortal.

First gun I find after starting up the game is the repeater.

Ok, so silly me didn't realize the game had updated when I wasn't looking.

 

No harm, no foul, as I just got a chance to sit down with it now.

Are you sure the shotgun just didn't spawn with bullets loaded in?

 

This is a feature they had planned to implement. (The possibility of a gun to be found loaded.)

 

I for one hope this might be the case....

Hold up upon reading that changelog, hydration and energy goes down EVEN faster now? What the crap, you're already in big trouble half an hour in to a life unless you got lucky with your spawn...

Jeez, don't panic, it does based on the season, before the patch it was "winter" i.e. late December, now it has been set to late Summer.  So far I am doing really good plus there is plenty of stuff.  Don't worry so much, go play and see for yourself.

 

BTW all, I was getting pretty serious CTD issues, tried to verify the integrity but that did nothing and CTD continued.  It was eventually solved by doing a reboot of my computer.

No CTD for me.

 

The LMB bug is back but instead of switching to another hotbar item spamming the LMB will make you switch to bare fists at times.

 

I was being halfway stealthy and having half success in getting around zeds without aggroing them.

 

I had fully circled one zed and entered a building passing it from behind a couple of times without caring much. As I'm leaving the same way I came in the zed finally aggroed which just seemed random at the time.

 

Shovel opened peaches and spaghetti but not sardines.

 

As stated above, blue vans have loot now and many places that were barren of loot now spawn stuff.

 

It's possible that the last round of stress testing and optimizations may have freed up some performance for more zeds and loot! :D

  Best patch in a long time. Besides the can opening bug and loot randomly disappearing on occasion after its been dropped (completely gone, not outside the house or back where i picked it up or on the face of the planet at all) everything is great. Like the new loots, everything handles well, fps is good, have not been beaten to death by gogo gadget arm zombies that can kill from 20ft away. Had a lot of fun on our 2 hour journey. Loot back in every building, around cars, sheds, so nice. Nice work devs!

So here's a question. I can see how it would be colder in the winter. But why would it be harder to get energized and hydrated? Energized I can kind of see, but hydrated?

I will trade you anything for it. I want to create another weapon comparison video, between the 2 current shotguns. If you'd be willing to let me borrow it, I will give it back, and you can take/keep whatever gear from me you wish! You will be credited in the video and i'll give you more ammunition when I return it! I would love to hear from you!

Yeah I'm not having any issue with CTDs either. Played a good 2 or so hours without any issue. I am having a bit of lag/desync issues, ie, when I close a door behind me a zombie hits my invisible body at the door.

Found an MP133, a sledgehammer [broken, no image and no functional weapon] and deer stands spawn loot now, there's also an abnormal amount of players roaming the wilderness in Exp, as I found out the hard way.

The difference isn't the season per se (it looks like they nerfed the rate of loss a bit with this patch independent of weather) the difference is that just being cold requires your body to burn through more resources. The colder it is, the more likely that you're spending more time in a state where you're burning more calories. If you're burning more calories it'll take more to create the surplus necessary to get the energized states.

I noticed when i found a Cr75 pistol in the police station their was a magazine for it in another room. Their was also a 9 rd P1?(idk exactly) magazine. That was the 1st time i found a pistol and mag in same building same time, so if anyone else notices that also, maybe they changed it so pistols have mags close by? or was i just lucky lol...Dayz...maybe just lucky.

 

Oh also the Rangefinder i cant get it to display the distances. Mouse wheel option isnt working on it, if anyone else can get theirs to work,( had a pristine battery).

I found a a FNX .45 in Chest holster with a clip in it a few patches ago on the roof top of a building well the tippity top in the little section on the multi-teer building that has a chance of spawning loot(specifically the one in Svet). I heard about them wanting to add the chance of finding them loaded wasn't sure if someone dropped this like that(which would make no sense) or if it spawned in like that.

I have found just holding down LMB seems to work great, no switching (even in stable) and you swing at the same speed you would if you were spamming LMB.

I have played a few hours with account no. 1 -> no CTD at all

Now I am trying to play with account no. 2 -> over 5 CTD in 20 minutes

 

Both account played on the same PC system (so the same installation). How is that possible?
