The new location of the balota camp screams "sniper bait!"

It's not a joke either. Go see for yourself. The entire area that they stuck the balota camp into is like a bowl.

 

 

 

 

 

The sides are all sniper friendly just telling anyone to camp in the tree lines and scope the place out for fresh meat. Very easily campable and just a death trap now. 

 

Also I hope that the map expands west and north because it looks very weird that it is near the edge of the map.

Depends, once they finally add in more zombie I dont think you would have to worry about that so much. Most ppl would be crawling like a snake through it most of the time. Youd have to try to get in a little closer without alerting zeds somehow. Or just let the zombies kill them for you than attempt to grab the loot lol.

Sinistok & Kamenka are still pretty quite, you should try Kamenka, I like the surroundings there, it's pretty chill.

Tbh i dont see this as a bad thing.

Going to the military camps should be one of the most dangerous things to do ingame, and going alone should be a certain death sentence.

I am glad they moved it away from the shore, it was to easy to go to balota and gear up, in less them an hours after spawn.

Which is a big plus in my opinion. If you want military gear you better take the risk. And snipers need habitat just as much as survivalists, predators, friendlies etc.

When bears, wolfs implemented in game and working totally fine people cant stay for long around campto sniping. When they hear wolf and bear howling I dont think they can stay in same position to snipe people.

im guessing they can wait for the animals to move to take a shot , i hope they not to overpowered im always running through woods unarmed :D hopefully just sneaking past them will work

 

im not even sure where i am i always die of starvation or people with guns , im yet to find a gun (4 hours in) lol i found a bobble hat though (win)

Alright I've just been to this area, I can clearly say:

 

You are both right and wrong!

 

This place is indeed a sniper camp, however at the meanwhile the snipers are very exposed!

 

If you go from the east side of the mountains and If It's a morning, you're safe if you ask me.

Therefore making snipers spotted easily.

 

 

If we gotta talk about sniping, the west side of the base is not good enough for sniping, you don't have full angle on the base, only partial.

I came from the east side of the base. I was on a what so called friendly server so I was not really expecting any KoS around there, however I saw a christmas gift under one of these trees!

 

He was really exposed, plus I was surprised why did he not hear me at the first place. Thinking to myself and trying to decide what to do, either prone and press q and e and hide somewhere and watch him or run towards him and cuff him, he just vanished, I guess he combat logged or server hopped.

Anyway about the new base, don't come fro the North or South side, come from the  west (if you can) and east but becareful for the snipers, make sure you don't pop infront of them.

 

I was not expecting to see a sniper at the first tree lane, but I did, I guess that was a newbie.

 

Anyway you should not be scared about snipers but combat loggers, people who would scan the base and see if there's anyone, shoot you and leave the server to keep the process going on.

I'm glad it's dangerous. I don't want to get loot without a sense of accomplishment or risk taking, and I don't want others to get theirs with impunity. 

 

Unfortunately, this potentially dangerous new location of such good loot might just encourage cowards to server hop to get their gear sans competition.

Looks like this camp is meant to be a PvP spot, an attack defense place, team A holds the place, team B tries to get it. The camp itself has a lot of place where people are safe from snipers and all this food looks like an invitation to make a stand. I scouted the camp and its surroundings for about 30 minutes looking for all the sniping spots and checked what are the safe places where snipers have no angle to shot you. To take this settlement you'll need at least 2 snipers on both sides of the valley as forests nearby offer a lot of possibilities to flank any lone sniper. I won't be surprised if this place is the next best PvP spot you'll see on youtube.
