I have played 3 hours today, I must say I am pretty geared up already. However, I have noticed a few things and need to see if anyone else can confirm.

 

Have not found: 

 

Hunting knife

STATIC Heli crashes (removed from the game? If so no smersh vest? )

Balaclava 

 

Have found:

 

Stun grenade (barracks)

Medical thermometer 

MASKA helm with visor

I have seen no hinting knife

I was confused that a static crash seemed to be missing

I found a Balaclava

 

And as for the stun grenade, medical thermometer, and MASKA  I have seen none of those.

 

But I did find a stun wand but I haven't a battery so I will have to wait to test it on a Zed. Will it have an effect? I also found a cattle prod but didn't take it.

What's with this hyperthemia. Spawn in promptly cooling off then rapidly then shaking then dead how do I stop this I haven't had a good play all of today

I found a lot of fire axes in open door grey sheds. (4 of them) And a few others in 3 story buildings in most towns. Not 1 splitting axe though.

Ah, gotcha. Guess it was just my luck then! Haven't found any splitting axes yet either.

Have there been any FPS/optimisation improvements - specifically for AMD cpu's? I'm really getting frustrated with my 10-30 fps...

 

My next rig will be intel, but I'm stuck with the AMD rig for now.

Found:

 - Wet Clothes, Cold Body Temperature; Hypothermia (twice and died both times)  <---  how do I remedy this?

 - Medical thermometer (x2)

 - Cattle Prod

 - Telescopic Baton

 - New weird Russian military helmet

 - Friendly players (funny how that happens when nobody has weapons yet)

 

Haven't Found:

 - Helo Crash Sites >:(  (removed?)

 - Grenades (still)

 - AK Drums (though I'm sure they are around somewhere just not the Western Hemisphere maybe?)

 - Vehicles (tanks, stealth bombers, etc...)

More questions

 

Was Balota military spawns moved in this stable update? Is there the new military base in the NW of NWAF? I have heard chatter about this and I am wondering has it taken effect in .49.

 

I rather not run all the way up there just to find out nothing is there yet.

So there is persistent storage now? Didn't see it in the patch notes but I see there's something about persistence in the "Issues" notes..

 

Anyone know?

I haven't seen a problem with the weather, getting cold or getting hot. Moving seems to cure getting cold (you're warming up) and stopping for a bit cooled me down. I was worried that re-spawned Zeds might be able to run you into heat stroke but the Zeds seem to have less capacity to pursue you for long distances.  I shot several in the military base south east of Vybor and was chased by civilian Zed that was an obvious re-spawn stopped when I got about 200 yards ahead of him and went out of aggro. I've had them chase me for over a kilometer before. And I am tickled pink that Zombie glitch hitting from a distance seems to be under control now.

As far as I know the engine isn't optimized for multi core processors of any type. Changing from a 6 core AMD like my  6300 (3.5 ghz) + 7850 graphics card, and 16 gigs of ram to an intel will probably have no effect on your frame rate.  But Intel will love you for spending the extra cash for their gear. I don't think they will be optimizing for specific hardware until they are in Beta.

Servers have the option to enable persistence currently and it is up to each admin whether it is on or not.

 

Look in server titles for terms like "Persistence Enabled".

Damn it all my game seems bugged at the moment 1st spawn was at vybor in my undies at night in the rain froze to death fairly quickly as i just couldnt find any cloths... then i could'nt respawn was stuck on please wait so i switched servers and respawned guess where just outside vybor again in my undies i lived this time as it was day and sunny and i found cloths quite quickly.

 

Now i have picked up a b95 but the thing is going invis in my hands very strange indeed. I have verified my game files etc seems strange been playing .49 since it came out on experimental with little to no problems it goes stable and my game spits the dummy lol just my luck...

The retractable baton sucks....tried it on some zombies....ended running off and having to shot them. Will not pick that up again. Also picked up a cattle prod as well...it appears to be un effective. Maybe it needs bats?

Balota changed in stable. No more tents near the shore, just the 2 jailhouses, the ATC, the 2 hangars and the 3 barracks. I had some problems with doors not opening at the barracks, even though the doors at the jailhouse just north of them didn't have any problems opening and closing.

Love what they done with the northern central town, nicknamed "under construction". Has everything a big town like Cherno, Novo or Elektro has.

 

New sign at the western Novo entrance? Haven't seen it before.

Rain jackets work great to keep you dry. I usually keep one on my person in addition to some other shirt that I wear if it's not raining. Gorka jackets protect from rain too. Not sure if anything else does at this point. If you don't have rain protection, wear warm clothes and take cover if you get cold. If you open the inventory, you can check the wet condition of your clothes and right click on each wet article of clothing to ring it out and stay dry. Fires can also both dry you out and warm you up if necessary so keep some matches handy.
