I really don't mind having to wait a couple of months for game updates but I really liked when we had info on the development almost every week. Keep up the good work guys, this game is and will be awesome!!!

It is though. The foundation is built from scratch, even if the content later imported will be mostly built.

 

 

They're using a project method called "SCRUM". Do you know about it? It's a very unconventional way of project management, and mostly used to fasttrack projects or parts of larger projects.

 

 

Yes, I do know about Scrum (not all caps...it's not an acronym).  It's a form of Agile project management.  I would hardly call it "unconventional".  Agile is probably the most common methodology after "Waterfall".  Also, it's not really used to "fast track" projects.  It's a more iterative approach that allows more flexibility in a dynamic and uncertain environment.  Which is not inconsistent with BI's approach of delivering the standalone alpha as a "minimum viable product" with each iteration (or "sprint") delivering more content and functionality.

 

Which is not to say that it is unstructured or not subject to spiraling out of control.  In fact, in many ways it requires even more discipline.  How frequent are the sprints?  Who is the "scrummaster" (Rocket?)  For that matter, is Scrum or Agile the best methodology if the underlying network infrastructure and architecture is incomplete?

He's not only wrong about that, they also didn't use the ARMA 2 engine :). 

 

Oh really? I was under the impression that DayZ uses the Real Virtuality engine 3 (with snippets of code from 4 so one might argue that it's really Real Virtuality 3.5). You don't have to tell me what it is. I studied the method as late as before christmas so I'd say I have a fairly good grasp of the method. :)

 

It's often written in all capitals even though it's not an acronym. Sure, maybe unconventional is the wrong word, but I used that with regards to more conventional methods like "waterfall"-methods, which are, as far as I know, still the most commonly used methods, although agile methods are gaining a lot of ground. It is used to fast track projects though, although I don't know if that's how Bohemia is using it. Either way, since you already know about it you probably agree that the work process can look somewhat disorganized from an outer perspective when using Scrum. And that was my point.

Havent seen any airport glitch fixes yet. could you please handle it cause it ruins gameplay imo? like 10 times i was standing IN that prison and made sure noone was in (even in that glitch "rooms") 10 shots, i was down. Nice, so there is a possibility to shot people from outside. COULD YOU PLEASE FIX THAT BEFORE ADDING NEW ITEMS? I'll stop playing since you'll do it, cause this is major suckage.

Its either the invisible player glitch (the one that holds the patch from going stable) or you got shot from the window.

That's down to the map guys (who are working on it), not the guys working on new items. It isn't a case of assigning just stopping work on everything else to fix this issue, that isn't how game development works.
