I have a feeling they're going to overdo the game. Small example being the complex medical system with different antibiotics for different conditions. I actually think that current dayz mod system is enough. Also, he keeps talking about all these open ended additions to the game, seems like 2+ years work. "We want to look at this, we want to look at that and maybe this and that". Jesus Christ, Rocket, make up your mind dude. He's adding in WAY too much unnecessary stuff into the game, which might break it for people.

And that's it? Am I the only one who thinks that rocket reminds me sometimes about Russian politicians?

if that sort of thing breaks it for people then hard luck, Day is a complex game there are many others that are not go and play one of them

dayz IS complex it IS hard it IS confusing thats the point

We're talking about the work done for the f*cking ALPHA!

I really don't understand the point to these showcases.

On one hand Rocket will claim that only a small and devoted portion of the DayZ fan base should buy the Alpha. On the other hand, in this demonstration, he mentions wanting "hundreds of thousands of people" to access the game for testing.

The Alpha will have very little features, much less than the mod (we haven't seen tents, campfires, vehicles, flares & chemlights, etc), yet Rocket feels the need to talk about many, many awesome things they'd like to eventually put in the game. His trademark "but first we need to get the Alpha out there" is going to make people think that development will rapidly pick up after release.

The reality, that many of the "hundreds of thousands of" buyers don't realize, is that in the history of game development has no product ever increased productivity after releasing to the public. Productivity will slow down after release.

For that reason I do not think these hype conferences are honest.

Did you watch the stream Gummy? It looks like even at this early stage there's more content than the mod. I do suggest you wait for the beta though or even the final release, I'm no detective but something tells me you're not convinced the SA going to be any good and I wouldn't want you to waste your money.

It's clear you don't trust anything Dean says so really, like any game in development you should just wait until they've finished developing it and then see if it's for you or not.

There is a huge difference between being complex and just being annoyingly complex that it's boring and makes people give up. I mean what's next? Are they going to add a jack-off meter? Or wiping your ass faster when you're at rest in order to faster get into combat. Some of those things are completely unnecessary, like purification tablets for example. The customization system is awesome. It's complex enough and it looks like it will be fun. things like that are fine. But right now it seems they're going over the top and they don't even have a real plan for the game. Rocket seems to be all over the place and he can't make up his mind. That's what bothers me.

That radio will get really annoying if there are over a hundred on the ground in a city. Probably won't be long in the game before it gets taken out.

Dont mind about gummy... jabbering his shit all over again..If there would be cars it would have much more content than the mod...

This have been through like million times. There is no "news" thread where gummy isnt stating how NOT impressed he is, there is just steps backwards and there so much less features than in the mod.

I started to think can we share food or controll our eating, ie eat just half of the can etc etc.
