Aw well, by any chance, the companies are losing the chance to get more beanz and drinks selling. This eventually could just lead every DayZ player to boycott buying any of their product.

Why can't those off-brands be used along side the major ones? Variety is good. Creativity is good.

I just don't think we should be throwing in the towel or talking about boycotting these 3 major companies because they've overlooked DayZ. That just seems childish. DayZ is big & popular to us gamers. But, to billionaire food CEOs, it's not even on their radar. If people show a demand for it, they might have to check it out, and are more likely to even consider it.

As for them charging money to use their name. Uhhh, I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. Usually when you see a product in a game/movie, that company actually paid to have their product shown.

Yes and Creative Commons not only allows this but their designs can be used in other projects meaning there is an opportunity here for someone to get quite internet fame. Absolutely no reason to waste precious development funds on Pepsi or such.

Except in that situation they went and made an offer to the movie studio first. If DayZ sees a benefit but they don't see much they will demand payment for use of their brand.

I just don't think those companies would ever ask for money for product placement. Either they'd let DayZ use it free, or they'd pay DayZ for the advertisement. Maybe I'm wrong.

It doesn't matter what they want, what matters is what the DayZ community wants and what we can do to make it happen. I wouldn't push for people to ask if they had denied Rocket, but they simply didn't respond.
