I play DayZ for the survival. It's by far the best innovation in actual zombie survival. If you want to grab a survival buddy, just grab my skype name and give me a call. I'm here on the forums to help anybody or to prove a point...

    Or just be absolutely random.

If you need bodyguard or a pal to survive the snipers and bandits of DayZ, call this guy.

...or if you want a S'more that you can lug around, I hope you don't mind if I starting shooting like a shmuck at random zombies and somehow shooting myself in the leg :3
  1. I would say it's been well over a year since I last logged on to these forums. Just checking to see how others think of either the mod or standalone. I can't even play the mod since ArmA is not validating my game files. I've been looking at the progress of the standalone every now and again, but I would like to hear what others think of its progress so far.
  2. I read this... ...then I realized why I don't read these. Man it's been a while.
  3. People can express their opinion in whatever manner they want, especially when they give a valid reason for why they don't like something. You probably don't need to add a whole list of features about Standalone when it is more than likely that those who made a comprehensive post about their disdain for SA are more than likely to have known a majority of the features already. I will not condone or chastise those who think otherwise. The best way to know, is to wait.

    Is it just me?

Aye, it's unfortunately one of the main reasons why I don't play DayZ much anymore, and I slowly wait for the hyped Standalone release. I usually find vanilla servers if they are displayed as hardcore is is found to be unofficial. The best option is to probably administrate your own server, and keeping the old roots of DayZ. Too many softies nowadays...
  5. Trust me, mate. That isn't going to be the last kill. Now, for your next kill, take your trusty hatchet and slam it over the head of a pesky sniper. You will feel gratitude after that...
  6. My theory, whether it be right or wrong: Public servers save your position, status, and gear onto the public hive, almost like a cloud. With that save data, you are allowed to switch between different servers, but what the game world holds is completely dependent on that specific server. However, your character is saved onto the hive, and can be accessed ONLY on other public servers. Private servers are community-made servers that were first developed to suffice the over-whelming amount of players on public hives, usually for clans or certain communities. However, they grew to extensive lengths to the point as being the most popular servers hives for DayZ to this day. Private hives provide custom abilities to the admins and they can change the overall condition of the game-world, the starting set-up, and even the map. Public hives were usually identified by the country initials or their location, and the server number, those some private servers adopted similar measures (e.g Balota Buddies). Private hives can usually be seen advertising the game settings and usually have custom titles.

    I need helpp pleasee!!

Why not just try the ArmA II demo and see if it can run then? If it can run, then I suggest you leave your memory in the video settings on Default for optimal FPS.

    Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?

Well, let's think about this, upon a measly scenario that could explain it all. You are apart of a group of people who, under all circumstances, have technically prepared for this to happen, and derived a source of communication with those who have grouped together to fight the apocalypse WHEN it came. Now lets think practically again. If you wanted to go paly(intentional) some DayZ with a couple of your mates, I think it might prove frustrating and rather hopeless to first find each other with NO communication whatsover using a third-party communication program (e.g Teamspeak, Skype). Contrary to your friend's belief, it actually proves to be a not only valuable asset, but a legit one at that. Not only can you support it with practical causes and reasons, you can also develop certain scenarios that explain this asset within the game world if you so please.

    I'm freakin out!

Vid 1: Deep Feels Vid 2: Even more Deep Feels Anyway, paranoia will make you do lots of fun things in DayZ. Steak, for instance, jumped off a firehouse roof in the hopes of being able to fly away from the insanity. I'd say he got about a few yards...
  10. Can I tell you for sure how the Standalone will be like, whether it will be a completely new game or will simply follow in the footsteps of its mod predecessor? All I can assume from now until standalone is that the most popular way to play will transfer. Or do you want my personal opinion? ...we can wait and see.
  11. Don't think had any intention of saying that, nor am I pointing out that the PC users always have a higher intelligence compared to other gaming platforms. It's just have a slight worry about how that platform will even out by maturity standards and how they will treat the game compared to the games they casually play. Perhaps I exemplified it in a more stereotypical tone, but it is still just a foresight that can happen, and most likely will, like it is today in DayZ.
  12. As long as it is released after the Standalone's PC release, i'm all for it. My only worry is that it will be infected by 9-year olds screaming into their mics (in side-chat nonetheless): "OMG Y DID U SHOOT ME IN ELEKTRO? YOU SUCK!" "HEY NOOB, CUM FIGHT ME AT CHERNO. 1V1." "HEY GUYS, I'M AT STARY SOBOR, ANY GOOD LOOT SPWNS? R.I.P future PS4 users...

    Will I be banned?

To lighten the questions of script restrictions you may have, no, it is simply Battle-Eye bugged in DayZ's code. Past possibilities that cause strict restrictions, since nobody knows what in the hell they even are to represent, are: Putting on a Camo, or changing into the Bandit skin. Manipulating vehicles (e.g Driving and/or checking the inventory). Accessing the Server Control of the server. (Derp) ...and possibly more if you decide to try and break the game.

    Returning player, what has changed?

Well, with the new community developer, we have quite a bit of community changes, along with additions that pay tribute to forum moderators and enhanced AI. Still buggy, but the community developer is doing his best to resolve the situation. You can also check out Anarchy's link to see a full list of changes in recent updates. Cheers, Comrades.
  15. Well, I will say again, I hope the informality of some parts of the application can be excused. If not, god-speed your series.
