A not-announcement announcement for the forums!

Recommended Posts

Ok, I think I did this right. If you calculate the numbers for "2012", "2013", "Earth", and "December", making sure to include chaos theory and what not, we can tell by rocket's post that the release will be on 01/17 on Origin.

Really? Deleting posts?

I was told to shut up and i was about to drop it.. Now what? Are you going to start banning people for saying things you dont want to hear? This is the latest announcment thread, the points i was babbling about were that the "announcmet" given is not enough or barely relevant to the game. Problem?

I guess it is a problem since all you want here is back patting and praise singing to Rocket.

Your post was removed because it was off-topic and completely pointless, we don't censor things here we just take out the trash.

Thanks so much Rocket!

No pressure: keep your pace as it's and deliver, without a doubt, the best game of 2013 when you feel ready to do it!

Again, many thanks on behalf of brazilian players!

I'm still wrestling with the decision to cough up 15 euros for the mod, while I wait for the SA. Steam sale ends tomorrow.

Wish I could get inside Rockets head, to see whether it was a sensible idea. I can wait a couple weeks no problem, couple months... not so much.

Decisions decisions.

Called it.

Even if Rocket would post, people would still be personally offended.

Like its been said many MANY times in these forums. You are not buying the mod. Youre buying the game. If you dont want the game and just DayZ, then id say wait for the standalone. But If you want another game added to your game collection, then get Arma 2 and Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead. Theres more to it than just DayZ.

Im glad they take their time with these announcements. It will keep them from making promises that they might not be final in the end. Because i know how customers are with their games. Especially people who are no patient. They see something and then its not in the final game and they go apeshit!

If you are interested in this game, then simply wait. I know its lame that there is not even a hint to a release time line... but don't buy the MOD, to enjoy it for god knows how long, and then to simply buy the standalone. Sure Arma II/OA/Combined has a great set of other mods, but at this point the learning curve to install ACE/ACRE or anything else for that matter is lame to deal with, and sure - the mod will keep getting updates and so forth... but how interesting do you think the MOD will remain after the standalone is on scene?

Just wait... No reason to let the cow be over-milked, honestly I think this had something to do with the delay.

How else would we get to be morally outraged?

I'm just outraged. As soon as I work out why I'll start a thread about it.

You now have 7 posts, every one of them on this thread. Repeating yourself will actually undermine your own argument because people that may have taken you seriously or listened to you will start to see you as either a troll or an attention seeker.

From what i've seen it's you that calling everyone who has negative opinion about Rocket's latest fails (even he admitted it) troll or attention seeker.

Ok i get it, it must be awkward to say that recent Rocket's "activities" was complete disaster from he's own moderator, but that are the straight facts.

So get over it, and stop calling people trolls just because they have different opinion than you. (and most Rocket fanboys)

That's just not mature.

So we "haters, trash, trolls and attention seekers" are supposed to shut up "before we loose our integrity" while the mods and the rest bash on us?

Im glad you are all happy with this:

Why so quiet, Rocket?

Oh right, I'm supposed to be talking to my customers.

I've been hiding because of the War Z thing, but I won't get into that.

Things are going well, but I won't get into that. I'm going back to the Czech Republic.

The year 2012

I can't really even begin to summarize - so I won't try. Thanks, those involved.

Where is the game? Where is the Tumblr post?

I promised more contact, but let's not get into that.

I didn't keep my promises/assertions.

So... 2013?

Let me just say this:

I'm real excited.

Thank you everyone for your support, and particularly, for your patience, cause that's all I have left.

But me personally rather see Rocket stay quiet then to give us this.

Where did I bash on "you"? That's a little unfair.

Well actually your post had nothing to do with the thread and was aimed at fraggle, if you have a dispute with someone settle it in a PM, you get what you're given and this is all you're getting for now, personally I'd like to have seen more info but I'm not going to cry over it.

So in the end just deal with it, all people did was complain rocket didn't post now he has yet you're still unhappy not all developers have to give information out about a game when it's demanded prime example Half LIfe 3, Gabe Newell is continually asked about it yet not one word about the game has been uttered and this has been going on for years where as news about DayZ a few months.

If you can find a quote where I called someone on this thread a troll that would help. Also, I have no issue with negative comments, for people that spend any time on this forum they'll already know that this is one of the most open gaming forums you can post on and that I post criticism too. If you've spent any time here you'll also know that Rocket welcomes criticism and encourages it.

I do have an issue when one member makes his point clearly and then feels the need to continue making the same point repeatedly every few posts. As I said earlier, making your point once is enough. The fact that many disagree with you is just the way it is and although it must be frustrating it doesn't change anything by continuing to repeat it, it's just annoying. Most people have posted on this thread once or twice, some positive, some negative, when one or two posters start to dominate an open thread it just seems a tad unfair on other users.

You can knock yourselves out and post whatever you like, go for it. All I ask is that when you make a new post you bring something new to the table with each post. If you repeat the very same thing over and over again then yes, I will consider that trolling.

Hi all, my first post is going to be to thank FinKone for this response to another posters question. I too am trying to decide whether or not to get Arma2 on Steam for the DayZ mod. Im getting more excited for the SA each day, and holding off on installing the mod is getting harder to do. Ive been watching Frankie's videos, and reading these forums to hold me over. Anyway I guess Ill hold off for a little while longer.

Thanks Rocket for the not announcement update. Even though there wasnt a firm date for the release of the StandAlone, ANY info you guys pass on is a positive for those of us waiting to play your game, in my opinion.

Hoping for the release in Jan. or Feb., I havent been this excited for a game in a long time

That is why stronger announcements would be a positive for this community. There are so many, unregistered, prying eyes that also need direction. I know I'll wait, and I'll be happy as hell when the SA is released...

What about the guys that just stumbl'd upon Frankies videos, and mistake DayZ for the WarZ as the standalone? I mean there is literally at times, a bread trail that we are following, and I consider myself well informed. There are still confused, simple individuals out there that download this WarZ all the time, play for a few minutes, get completely turned off by it, turn it off, and write off DayZ standalone as a pretty weak sauce game...

A offical thread should be placed at least some place in the forums that new guys will SEE to inform them that DayZ is not WarZ, as stupid as it sounds. I had a bud freakin' tell me DayZ SA was released... and he was pointing me to WarZ ...

I hate this.

Not Rocket, nor his approach - its his baby (the game) so he should get to raise it as he sees fit (even if he does drop the ball entirely on giving us updates) but because the sly - poo faced tactics of WarZ, DayZ might not have the biggest impact it could of had without a untarnished name thanks for WarZ.... To be honest, the income generated from a game is often used to re-project it, and make it even more successful... This mishap has had a bigger dent into it then meets the eye... and I think thats what hit Rocket hard...

Rocket man - you gotta be like Joe Dirt, and keep on keepin' on... lmfao.

PS... Sorry if I get this thread locked... :D
