    I'm Beyond Heated

    I've had the same experience and basically stopped playing. When I last I played I'd manage to work out how to stay alive and find half reasonable gear to help stay alive with after suffering the same experience you had, but I had persevered despite all the same game breaking bugs and deaths due to BS. I got on with getting a vehicle together which took the best part of two weeks (I don't play for 12 hours a night as life generally gets in the way). Vehicles are a whole other can of worms. Theyre beyond useless, basically made of eggshells, offer no protection, and after an huge effort to get one running, they basically cause the game glitches to ramp up to 11, are useless on anything but perfectly flat road, and ruin at the first opportunity. My first car lasted all of about ten minutes! I gave up playing after this, and things like this are why players are leaving this game faster than people were trying to get off the Titanic. Looting is ruined because of dupers, base building is pointless because persistence is still broken and people can basically break in at will in mere minutes, vehicles are a broken gimmick that aren't worth the massive effort it takes to get working. The game engine is terrible, the net code a mess, game physics are broken, and the devs are focused on releasing different versions to get more cash in rather than trying to make the game run well. I bought an Xbox one X in the hope it would help the game run better, and it does, but it doesn't resolve the experience woes. So instead I went and rented a shadow pc in the hope I could get a better experience in the PC version, so I've bought the game twice now, only to get stung again by the fact the game refuses to run on a virtual machine, and the devs apparently DGAF about this either. So after buying a second xbox, another rental service, a new router for my home so shadow would run well, and a second copy of the game, I got kicked in the nuts even harder and have never player a single minute of the PC version. After all that I was done with this company. Another company that is actually a good developer needs to rip this game off and realease a good version so this one can finally be laid to rest and put its player base out of their misery.

    I dont believe in micro-transactions in games honestly, especially in games like this, BI will loose most of their already dwindling playerbase if that happens with DayZ trust me in that, people who do stay and pay are fucking idiots, excuse the colorful language, If however it was a game like Star Citizen well thats a completely different ball game they literally have a Universe littered with worlds and other stuff that puts DayZ to shame with its claim of having a "massive" map, In SC you can actually buy a friking massive ship with real money,.. Now thats "worth it" and for an absolutely gargantuan ship (frigate/destroyer class) your looking at a cool $1200USD for their best which is also "worth it". Paying trump change for a game you have already paid for and want/need features that should of already been in game is a bloody ripoff and a clear sign they are now targeting children under 18 years of age (or like minded) to empty their pockets (or parents') to get these "features" in game to play with. People such as I wouldnt be "complaining" if the fucking game had all its features as it mostly did before they announced "oh we are building a new engine for the game" "It will be better and we will be able to add new things quicker" If they ever return the content that was already in the game and start actually adding "new" content like helis, shooting from vehicles, proper weather (seasons) and proper basebuilding etc then the engine 's claims will be true, but as of right now the game's Regressed state has stirred up a snakes nest.

    Are you joining the exact same official server? Official share characters across servers. 3pp to 3pp and 1pp to 1pp. Persistence storage doesn't transfer with you nor do vehicles.

We just opened a brand new DayZ Standalone Server (on 06/03/19) for our members and the public to enjoy. We are proud to be a no frills, no BS server. Visit our Discord for a full list of rules and important server information. We will be working to add more information on our website in the near future! BASIC INFO Server is in the United States. Server restarts every 6 hours. 12AM, 6AM, 12PM and 6PM Eastern Time. Restart warnings are set for 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes and 1 minute leading up to a scheduled restart. After restart, the server time reverts to around 10:00AM. Daytime is accelerated by 400%. Night is accelerated by 1,200%. This makes night cycles last around one hour and they only occur a couple times per restart. Traders are at Green Mountain and Kumyrna. This is subject to change as we implement custom trader cities. Most trader prices were manually set by us. Increased loot spawns. Many added items, clothing, weapons, etc. No vehicle despawn bug! We've fixed the problem that plagues most DayZ servers which causes vehicles to despawn after only a few seconds or minutes of idle time. OUR PROMISE Our promise is simple. We will not abuse any privileges or tools we have. We will not give ourselves, or anyone else, an unfair advantage in the server. Donations do not yield any reward, do not entitle someone to admin privileges and will not result in any in-game compensation, simply a "Donor" role in Discord. (We also don't beg for them. You outright have to ask us how before we will provide a means.) We will attempt to keep the server running stable and smoothly as often as possible. If there are issues, we will attempt to address them quickly. We may opt to temporarily shut the server down or roll the server back if there is a major issue. Over the last 16 years, we have hosted many gameservers from many popular games you may or may not have heard of. We have plenty of experience and those in staff positions are adequately trained to handle most situations. We will not spawn ourselves in any money, gear, loot, vehicles, bases, etc. This means we will not spawn it in for you either, so please don't ask. We will not use admin privileges, including teleporting, for anything outside of official admin use. There is an administrator log that documents every action performed by every administrator, including the server owner. This also means that we will not teleport you. Since loot restoration and compensation as a result of bugs or lost gear is such a sketchy and difficult task to fairly juggle, we will most likely not be returning people gear or items they claim to have lost without clear, 100%-verifiable video evidence demonstrating an incident from start to finish. Our administrators do not have the ability to see your bases, vehicles or where you log out on the map. If someone assaults/raids your base or steals your vehicle, you can have confidence that it wasn't an act committed using an administrative tool. DayZ, even now, can be an unstable creature. We have experience and knowledge in maintaining servers like this one. If we take a hit on something, we expect you to take a hit too.. tis the life of playing this game.     but am I the only one who feels mocked? I think it will be remembered as the most troubled game in history to say no more and be ban. 7 years of play .. I laugh. I see people just waiting for weapons vehicles and helicopters (children of 10 years old I guess) I don't want to mention names because they are offended, but maybe dayz is obviously oriented towards them. but how is it possible that there are guys who are doing mod with missions ai ! I emphasize missions ai, the construction, etc. etc. and these each time make a disaster to every patch.

    Agreed, we may be pissed off but the Devs need to be assured its not in the context of hate, I call it creative criticism and its an integral part of a developer/player/customer/community relationship, I know most of us love to dish out the issues and forget to mention what has no issues so forgive some of us for that, But we do not forget the good work you guys have put in, not at all, and thank you, But with every relationship things get a bit rocky here and there, We as the customer/players/community are just letting you the Devs know that there is some issues that need immediate work on by your part to keep this relationship healthy so to speak. Please dont hesitate to inform us of any ideas/polls etc.. we would love to be a part of a game thats the age of a small child now and to have involvement with its growth is something we would be honored being a part of whilst keeping a professional aspect of our places and positions by way of comments. I dont own a smart phone (yea yea w/e) nor do I even have a twitter thingy, facebook thingy, or Instragram thingy so please Devs there may be many such as I that dont use these platforms (or just me lol) and traditionally use these here forums as a direct primary form of information and communications line with you guys, so more involvement here would be seen as a closer pitch to professionalism and interaction with the DayZ Community. And please remember most of the users here are on the PC platform and I guess it feels like we are being pushed aside and forgotten in favor of the consoles, so please also make sure we are favored from that aspect being the start platform of this games birth. More content with less wait time and fast bug patching seem the only way to push and build the content side of this game to the levels we are meant to be seeing, It a 6am-10pm 5 days a week job but thats what youve been hired for, to put in meaningful work for the better of the users and the game, bigger the chunks the better, we will chew it out and throw bugs back at yas for squashing, no problem there. We look forward to more interaction with us here on the forums and as much as I love the dark (minus the exaggerated colored speckley attempt at rods and cone cells) We want to see almost real time happenings and progress, even if its the same thing sometimes id rather be bored with that then left to speculations of our thoughts and assumptions. Make us happy again and the game will be happy again. Cough..cough.. helis cough.. shoot from vehicles cough.. more content cough.., ahem.. sorry bout that. 😁😉

    1. Crafting is too cumbersome and its possible buggy. The UI combine is too aggressive. 2. Base building should mean something not hammer it down so quickly. Make it a tad more indestructible then it is. 3. Sounds should be reduced by 35% to 60% due to i can hear everyone a mile away. 4. Vehicles should not be so hard to drive, meaning they are too all over the place, and off road? one fence kills the rad. Will add more as i go through them,
  9. I do agree it is a turd fix... but i did find a private server that turned it almost off. Its fitting as there is only wilderness in the dark. Sitting inside a building with 1 flashlight floating around in a town so everyone can rush to the person and KOS him seems pointless. I am still trying to figure out where the survival is? basebuilding i am hearing is bugged. But i thought this was released? where is the fix by now. Vehicles ran better in older versions, mods seem to be correcting the bugs so far.

    Bugs for update 1.03

    So far the guys on PC dont seem to be happy with the new update. Gloves ruined after 5 ladder slides big or not Persistence seems to have gotten corrupted for vehicles. Many people are staying vehicles are despawning New vehicle spawn locations weren't put into the game so many are having to put them in manually Lots of game crashes Combo lock issues Building issues A lot of pre 1.03 vehicles you had upon update spawn in damaged in some way Seems if you aren't building or driving the baddest issue is random game crashes This is what I've ready on the stable patch forum so far.

    Survival shouldn’t be the main goal IMO when we have so many damn features missing still . These are Just some missing features from the ole’ Noggin that still need to be produced and put into game otherwise we paid for legit nothingness but what we’ve already seen in arma 2 dayz mod (or possibly even less): barricading aerial vehicles 2 wheeled vehicles advanced medical system advanced soft skills (pilots , medics , combat experts etc) bears cannabis , alcohol , tobacco and their positive / negative effects Zombie hordes climbing (shown about a year ago) shooting from vehicles (teased legit 2 years ago) rearview mirrors (“coming soon to a chernarus near you” MY ASS) Electrical repairing to reactivate town lights and substations (talked about a lot through the years) contaminated zones (where the hell are they Brian hicks??) carrying a body and/or helping a limping person Less than lethal weapons (thought they were all set and modeled 4 years ago , what happened?) diving under water (probably cut by now) birds to hunt (probably also cut for good - I swear this was talked about and on many early-year roadmaps , only to disappear on one of the heavily disappointing roadmaps of yesteryear) Namalsk map (like wtf) God there’s just so much to add (I’ve probably forgot some things too) and they have so very little time before we all go batshit ... what happened here ? Was it simply just a lust to push tons of copies that destroyed our well deserved beta and end of alpha which in turn created this Frankenstein mess of a game ? We were so close to finishing and now with all the feature cutting and manpower shifting from coding new features to building and advertising new clients (Xbox / ps4) we feel light years away from what dayz should be at its final state .

Wow we still have a looooooooooong way to go ... I guess hooray for the ps4 version though ? Yuck 🤢 survival was lost and now we have to go through another 1.5 years of them “bug fixing and configuring features” to be done with that BS and then finally maybe they will consider finishing the list of features that was on every single roadmap before “full 1.0 release” (if you can even call it that).

  15. Reason enough for the dev team I guess. Want to maybe pick the fuck out of the fact that it takes 40L of oil to run the vehicles? Or maybe that my character and that of another character are EXACTLY the same? Or that there are only about 15 zombie models? Question for you- do you just want everyone to be amazed at the fact that you noticed the engine models are the same or do you actually feel like different engine models will change the game- in the state it's in- in some awe inspiring way?

    Inside the "data" folder you have the vehicles... for the... vehicles. But we also have the events for the heli crash, police car and we have the "dynamic_xxx" which store the tents, walls, ect.

    in the mission folder you have a folder named "storage_-1". It's where your characters, bases, vehicles are saved.

    I was browsing around in the types.xml file when I noticed the vehicles (civiliansedan and offroadhatchback) have their lifetime set to "3". They obviously don't despawn after just three seconds, so is the value "3" some kind of tag to make things last indefinitely, or how does this work?

    S always functions as brakes. You put the gear in Reverse and hit the gas with "W" to drive backwards. I think most of the problems in vehicles originates from server/sync/lag issues, not lack of development. I mean, sure, a car honk would be a nice addition but network problems are more urgent and basic to address.

    I disagree, ARMA 3 driving has been a lot better than what I experience in DayZ. I got pretty good, I think, at driving the pickups in KOTH, entering Kavala at near 200 km/h and sliding around the streets. In DayZ I just avoid vehicles altogether. Btw, ARMA 3 does indeed have engine RPMs, torque curve, etc. Somewhat more advanced than it appears on the surface. A lot of A3 vehicles sucked, but some were pretty nice. It depends on their config. But they can work very nicely, and DayZ I haven't experienced that. And I don't expect to see DayZ kart-racing anytime soon. Feels a lot more "authentic", or whatever, than DayZ, simply because I can actually decently control my vehicles. Of course, it would be nice to have both, but having good control of the vehicle, is to me is more important than having manual transmission mechanics. By the way, sure it has the manual gear-shift mechanics, but DayZ driving really isn't very authentic in the end. Proof? Plug in a wheel, and prepare to cry...

    Why is it so difficult to drive?

    This is one thing I would strongly defend the devs on. I'd rather have mechanics which strives for 'authenticity' and remains long overdue WIP than drive smoothly like in Arma 3, where vehicles have that distinct feel of Need For Speed from 20 years ago. What I mean first and foremost is, obviously, how the 'S' key works first like a brake and then like the rear gear. What is this? And the whole engine RPM shtick works badly at the moment, but at least it's there. All that Arma 3 shows is how easy it is to implement vehicle driving from 1995 - and why we shouldn't do that. And yeah, currently the cars drive poorly. My solution is to maintain slow-to-average speed - around 50 kmh in cities, at sharp turns, etc. 70-80 kmh at smoother patches, 90-100 on really nice long stretches of road. The cars are actually very sturdy and you shouldn't destroy any car parts even if you hit at a wall at <50kmh. Your mileage may vary with this. Having said, just yesterday I totaled a car at the Chernogorsk blockade after a crash to desktop. It never hurts to ask active admins for help/compensation on community servers.

    In cfgeventspawns.xml there is no Hatchback_02 present. Why were we not informed and how did this get past QA? The following assets are present and in their proper order: VehicleCivilianSedan StaticHeliCrash VehicleOffroadHatchback StaticPoliceCar VehicleV3S ItemPlanks VehicleV3SChassis I've added enough modded vehicles to know that the Hatchback_02 should be somewhere in the cfgeventspawns.xml. Why has the V3S been in the files for so long now? I have to zero out the V3S parts out of the types.xml every single dag'on update. It's not a case of Oo we forgot...because y'all didn't forget to get the Ikarus out.
  23. is it possible that all the servers are the same? in the sense that everyone puts a thousand mods of weapons and vehicles neglecting the really nice and sensible mods that are there. I can't find one, and I stress a server that is "serious" in the sense that it does not put stupid mods like 5 6 weapons mods total 300,000 weapons that you then only use 4 or 5 at the end. I was looking for a server that was not easy at first hand, WITHOUT TRADER OR IF THERE ARE HIGH PRICES AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT ALL AFTER 3 HOURS ... with a basebuildingplus, if it weren't for at least a looser destruction time than that by default and the airdrop that makes this game at least not monotonous in the absence of missions.that is, it seems to me that now the servers are all like this: we put a thousand weapons vehicles and let's go pvp yeeeaaaaaaaaaah .. it seems to me there are other games for this kind of things done even better

    Engine models' similarity in all vehicles

    I kind of doubt they will change it, because most players won't notice, or care, and it would take a fair amount of work to create new models. I could be wrong though. Apart from existing vehicles we did see the planned Multicar with a different engine. Due to the location and size, a different model was more a necessity.     Dayz Battle royale: quest for M4

    I give up... Really. The end game is to look for an M4. Not to build a car and have a small community in a happy built base. This weekend i met and talked to over 20 players online, they all had one common intrest. To find an M4. I died 4 times by KOS's. Tried talking but nope... BAM! *searching corpse for M4* We, the community and paying customers, have plead on these forums, on twitter, on reddit to fix the duping problem since patch 1.0. What do we get? New weapons, odd controls, even more broken vehicles, 2 hour days and 1 hour nights, more bugs, gas mask and cosmetic nonsense. What i heard from players and read on the internet is not wanting a new weapon or a gas mask. Nope... what i've read is we want duping to be fixed, RNG to be fixed, custom controls, rendering and fps stabilization, stat tracking and so on. How on earth can you add stuff when the core game is broken? I watched a stream on mixer where a pretty popular xbox streamer stod inside a camp with 4-5 watchtowers, walls and 8+ tents full of weapons. That is cheating and exploting glitches. He should be banned. Console players will NEVER be or play a game like PC players. Most of us want everything right away, preferably with a huge red waypoint showing where it can be found. What this does is destroying a game to the point that it's not fun at all. In this case duplicating. Why not separate the players? You did this with FPP vs TPP servers. Why not add more casual servers with weapons and ammo replacing 50% of the unneccesary clothes scattered all over. Or have locked character servers? If you can’t fix the problem, try atleast to work around it. You could do so much more and could have, these two last patches to make us more happy. But i'm 100% certain that you DON'T listen to the community. If we stop to think about it for 1 sec... why do military weapons, or any weapon, need to be rare? Is it to prevent a massiv shoot out with 60 players in a town? Is it because everyone would go ape shit and shoot at anything(like it is NOW) ? Is it because the servers can't handle 60 players and 60 AR's shooting? Is it to let the player feel left out and scared to get killed? What would happen if weapons was easy to find? I can assure you that most likely it would be 100% better and fun than it is now. If everyone had a fully geared AKM or M4 or SVD would that mean they would go on a killing spree... I highly doubt it. No, what would happen is players would start looking at building communities, bases, cars. Gearing up and eventually have base wars and taking over other bases etc. You need to cater to the masses weather you like it or not. You elite players need to understand this aswell or you will run around on empty servers, wishing there were some KOS'ers to fight. For you "elitist" that been here since game preview started, know that changes have been made to make it more casual and easy. No matter how much you scream about it, changes have been done. It's inevitable... Here are some examples: Did we spawn with a soda, a fruit and a stone the first few months? Nope. Did we have an in-game map the first months? Nope. Was it this easy to find mp5's the first months? Nope... Police car spawnables. You might not like it, but most of the player base does. And for this game to grow in popularity, increase income and be succesful... Changes have to be made. So i truly hope we get to see locked character servers, 1st and 3rd person servers, more weapon loot servers.... And even TDM servers. Duplicating is destroying this game because the developers ignore the casual players. The whole community gets punished and the "elitist" are narrow minded and just think about themself. I doubt this game will be populated and fun by Q3 2019.
