Declaring Electro as the place for coastal PVP

After reading on the forums about people finding coaster pvp'rs assholes. I would like to declare Electro as the place for coastal pvp.

Just so that all the non-assholes could just avoid it, and the rest could have some coastal non militairy fun.

So.. I don't like declaring anything as anything de jure. That said I avoid Cherno and Electro because they attract a certain population that does make them psychotic-infested murder holes de facto. But that doesn't need to be the case and the game is ever evolving. Let's not limit the scope or potential for that evolution by making arbitrary decisions about where PVP should and should not take place.

"Declaring" lol, did you start playing this game last week or something? Elektro was a PVP area since 2011. Game been out for years and this guy starts declaring stuff on a sunny day in 2016.

I'mma declare the internet as a weird place today, because this wasn't a thing before I declared it. Piss off haha

Sure, as soon as you cough up the 80+ dollars and rent your own server. You can then declare Elektro a pvp fest for all. 

Until then, just play the game.. don't worry about what is said on forums.   ...oh wait.

I missed something:
- how do you get the assholes and the non-assholes to agree ?
- how do you get even the "assholes" to agree ? (you used the term, hemmo)
- yo ever thought of running for President?

You must be new here...

Elektro has always been a PVP hotspot. Well apart from that 1 time they removed the spawns in Elektro it went a little "dead" in there but soon changed back when they added the spawns again.

I wonder if we were on the same server?  I stumbled across...something..in Kamyshovo.  There were bodies everyone.  One guy ran up to me and begged me to kill him (so I obliged with my double barrel).  I was going to take out some other guy until he warned me just in time about a sniper.  Rounds started whipping past my head so I didn't stick around.  Good thing that sort of stuff won't be happening anymore!

You do realize [I'm assuming you're saying this in regards to the stable branch] , that there are  dozens of different servers, some already with their own established rules? 
I can see if you're trying to say "in general, we should do this.". But as you can see from the other replies, yeah, this has been a thing for a long time.


Without owning your own server, you can't expect to change anything by just declaring it here. And even if you have your own server, and declare a rule, it doesn't mean anyone will follow it, without admins being there to police it.
The best you can do is observe how the community as a whole generally reacts in certain zones. I made a big long list of my personal observations below. These are just how i think of them, and it all could be totally inaccurate.

Cherno is strongly PVP. It is parallel to most of the military bases/airfields on the map. 
People who have just geared up in the north typically head straight south, and get back onto the coast around this section. 
Firefights in Cherno involve automatic rifles, squads of heavily armed sniper teams on the roofs, and rabid bambies scavenging for weapons in the streets and alleys. 

Electro is the capital of PVP fighting on almost every server, has been since the beginning. 
Mid to high level geared players fight here. It is the catalysis of warfare and grudges in Chernarus.
Surprisingly, a lot of relatively friendly bambies or low gear players come and go here, whether for the thrill of scavenging in a PVP zone, or simply trying to pass through. 

Berezino has become a PVP zone as well. [Maybe it's always been a PVP zone, but in my experience, I feel it only became one more recently, about a dozen patches ago. I could be wrong.]
Low to medium geared pychos stalking players in the cluttered streets.  It's not the most prestigious zone for PVP, but I've witnessed it turn into a hotbed for PVP when I first started playing.
A lot of clans I was with used Berezino as a battleground, due to it's sprawling nature.
And surprisingly for the most part, a lot of friendly bambies. The size of Berezino draws a lot of friendly bambies and low geared players in to loot. So KOSers and pychos tend to gravitate toward this town to torturer and murder the steady stream of bambie traffic rolling through,   

Svet isn't exactly a PVP zone, but it is loved by snipers, due to its elevation and exposure. I've also been held up and accosted here the most out of any place, besides military locations. I'm not sure why.

Kamyshovo is so large and far up north, that I rarely ever see combat there. In fact, servers like the SAS private server has declared this a no-kill zone.

Green Mountain is an iconic location. If there is such a thing as a general safe zone in DayZ Standalone, this would be it.
