That is the answer I got for that when I reported it before all the 1pp servers were converted to 3pp last weekend.  I have a feeling it has something to do with them wanting to see the results of the new placement for the 3pp camera.

Well, I was a wee bit cranky last night. I was well North of the Northern Highway (you know to which road I am referring, but it seems to me that we need a better name) and while I wasn't exactly empty handed, let's just say that "The Force" wasn't with me. So, tonight I picked back up on the outskirts of Kamensk on a different server. Within minutes I found a variety of canned goods, a can opener, a compass, a pick ax (and lots of other melee weapons), a protector case, two hunters jackets, three M65 jackets, ammunition, three rifles (including a SKS :) ), an ACOG and a pack it lug all of it around in.

 

I did experience one of those delayed reaction CTD's, where the screen freezes and you get the Windows system chime, but the PC is tied in knots for a minute, or two before the desktop pops up. So far, only scheduled restarts and the server has been pretty responsive, however the server load has also been pretty light, with perhaps 8-12 people on average. It's a bummer not seeing any other players, but it beats the slide show that I had last night.

I would like to group up with some people but there isn't much group work to be done besides pvp really... If only we had some basic modular base building options or some more vehicle options!

 

I'm enjoying the new primitive survival elements as a lone wolf though, especially the bow buff. I'm practicing in order to become a straight up Legolas!

 

Pretty soon I'm going to do some fishing and test out my pot and tripod.

I've been running around off and on all day without an issue and I saw a thermometer on the stove in a 2 room log cabin that usually has lots of coats the moment I touched it...CTD. My first CTD in awhile. It must have been one of those memory explosive thermometers.

The CTD crashes are what the dev team has been working on. Kind of essential for the stable realease... I have not had one yet today, but i will be avoiding thermometers.

Heh, well logged back into the same server and pop as soon as I stabilized into place, CTD. I logged back into a different server and no problem since then. It may have been the place I was standing had a glitch. Yesterday I saw a first aid kit on a table in a house and it was stuck there and the normal kit components that had a percentage all said 0%. Funny too since it's been ages since I have seen a kit. I relogged, jumped up and down, crawled, ate food in front of it, surrendered and even danced the unstuck dance and it was still stuck there and I had to walk away. Yes of course I shot it before I left and I only had 6 rounds but it made me feel better. I just found a tent up outside the house I usually get my tent at and I found it was very difficult to get the command to pack the tent to come up. Small movements for about 3 minutes before I found a spot where it would give it to me and I'm off into the woods with a tent. I haven't found an animal or another hook since I lost my fishing pole. My last can of peaches in my pack and even though I am all green across the board, things look grim. Snuggled up in my tent and ZzZzZZzzZzZzzzz,.....

Cooking fish in a pot was a spectacular success. You can cook 4x the fish in half the time it seems.

 

 

Phase 1: Collect Fishes

Phase 2: Prepare fishes with fresh stone knife

Phase 3: add water to pot, add fish to pot, set up tripod, pot and fire.

Phase 4: Ignite fire and view contents of pot to see when cooked

Phase 5: Profit.

Well no more ctd's since last patch and game doesn't crash with the memory error when exiting to windows. Nice. :thumbsup:

Some small stuttering when playing. I guess before that was the point when game crashed. Now it keeps going after little freeze.

Fast time seems to work fine now. Damn the game looks nice when night becomes or sun rises.

i am playing on DE-2 right now, and loot is scarce

very scarce

 

i ran from berezino (where it seemed every loot spot is empty), to NWAF(every barrack empty), in the towns between i found no food at any point, which made me rely completely on apples, since i also found no axes to get an ashwood stick to hunt or fish

 

the only thing i found in a good quantity was ammo, but no mags for the two guns i found on that whole trip (a P1 dropped from players somewhere and a Sporter .22 in a green weapon house, without mag)

 

it's really on the brink of unplayable loot-wise, at least on the northern/western corners of the map, and don't even bother going to berezino or other coastal areas

 

found a few misplaced loot and missing structure bugs though and made a ticket, so it wasn't all for nothing^^

Well, I checked, my suspicions were correct. Hyper speed!

 

Velocity increased to 328 ft/s for composite and bone arrows... 164 ft/s for improvised arrows. Which is an impossible speed for even a powerful recurve or longbow, that's as fast as modern compound IBO speeds. Improvised bow should be sub-150 ft/s. I get they want more people using the bows but it seemed appropriately shitty to me, just needed changes to the mechanics.

especially you should be able to move with the bow and have better accuracy imo, it's really terrible and unusable really, also finding arrows or chickens is very hard

 

a chicken should also give more than 3 feathers, come on, they have hundreds of those things xD

also, it might be a good idea being able to make wooden fins for arrows, sure feathers are lighter and better for it, but if i was in a real pinch, i wouldn't really care what the fins are made out of, maybe even have a shot speed penalty for arrows without feathers used, or let them be less accurate

 

the downsides of a ow just don't pay out when compared to the upsides of a weapon which is way easier to use, even if it's a sporter without mag

Ah ... because my i7 machine is temporarily down for some mods.

 

Six years ago, my AMD machine was wickedly fast. To this day, I only have three games that I can't play on it, DayZ, FC4 and Metro: Last Light. It even runs ARMA II reasonably well. Even with the antique Nvidia GPU, I am rendering DayZ at 2560x1440 with high quality textures. I would run it at 1920x1080 with medium textures, but that doesn't improve my FPS one bit, so the GPU is more than up to the task. BTW, it's a six-core Phenom II and a GTX470.

Wow, what a run I had this morning... Kamenka was my starting point, I visited Myshkino, Green Mountain (well, I made a big arch around it because the place frankly still creeps me out), went up to the castle where I found a mountain backpack, now I'm planning to just run around and see where I end up.

 

Thing is, I found a heating pack, a gas stove, clothing, shoes... no food. I stopped right under the castle for the server restart and am planning on growing some crops to replenish my food stock, but I have to agree: Unless you have fishing gear (since no animals) all you can do is grow seeds if you are lucky enough to find some, and rely on apples.

 

CLE seemed to be working for a couple of days, and then it just stopped, at least so it appears. Currently I am playing on a high ping server (AUS), which runs very stable and well, but I had a couple CTD's earlier this morning, again with the east servers. Soon as I spawned in *ding* - CTD.

Ehrmmm... The server says "This server will restart in 60 seconds". After 5 minutes it still hasn't restarted.

Is it still coming or what? Waiting for the restart to grow my pumpkins and peppers.

So far only had 1 memory crash and have been playing for 2 to 3 hours now. Today is a good day. :)
