Exp Update: 0.56.127TheBeast.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure according to things I was reading in the bug reports earlier that running with fists lowered/raised no longer makes a difference. There are 3 standing movement speeds: walking/jogging-running/sprinting as I understand it. At this point though, I'm no longer sure about anything. :D

 

 

 

What does your source say for walking?

 

My time was 1 hour 2 minutes, I'm betting my distance is pretty close because I had time to plan a route without inclines (not that it matters walking) and did it with the w key jammed in straight lines, with minimal turns plotted in my app and dropped withing a meter or 2 of a good landmark. I rounded down in my original post and just remeasured the route at a little over 4900m. 

 

My results weren't perfect because I was a 1 minute walk to where my other character dropped me a coat and a cold status popped in and out after 40 minutes.

 

Unless they change these baselines they'll still apply even when stamina is introduced but modified by however the stamina affects them.

I started North of Berezino and went through Svetlojarsk, Turovo, Dubroe, Karmanovka, Novo, Belaya Polana, Berezhki and now Krasnoe over the course of about 5 hours and 3 play sessions and have found barely anything that wasn't obviously left behind by others. I was as thorough as I could possibly be. In that time, I have found around 100 items. Almost everything is picked clean. I have never seen anything like it in Stable or Experimental, although I guess that doesn't mean much since I haven't been playing this game for very long. 

 

For the record, I'm healthy and okay although I did have to eat about 15 apples since I last found spawned food items. The game just feels hollow and empty with no loot and no zombies.

Are you climbing ladders and looking in guard towers/deer blinds? I am still finding rds sights and such in those places. Went into a house up in Berezhki I looted two days ago and found a can of beans and a can of spaghetti.

Ok the way some of you are talking, the pvp soon is gonna be an apple fight. If you get hit with an apple you have to give up your berries. Run into me and I'll say "Brought and apple to a gun fight" :-P~~

I jog everywhere, no walking, no sprinting. I find that sprinting makes me thirsty/hungry fast and maybe to dart across an open field if I know a bandit is nearby, otherwise jogging. The climb up the ladder hunting blinds and guard towers, seem to have ok loot. I think I'll try completely emptying a bunch and then circle around and see if anything spawns. I've been doing some donating the last couple days. Since Backpacks seem to stay put, I've been dropping extra items in them when I can spare them. My stable characters must being covered with spider webs by now.

If your weapon has a magazine, remove it before painting the weapon.  Just painted my AK74 Green and the magazine went away.

 

We need .57.

Are you climbing ladders and looking in guard towers/deer blinds? I am still finding rds sights and such in those places. Went into a house up in Berezhki I looted two days ago and found a can of beans and a can of spaghetti.

After a couple of days, one person can easily deplete a surprisingly large portion of the map, single-handedly. Loot definitely does spawn / re-spawn, even desirable loot, but it does not currently spawn at a rate to support one person, unless that person supplements his efforts with hunting, fishing and farming.

After cleaning out an area, I don't notice any significant amount of loot re-spawning for 48 hours,

Back on the 19th, Hicks said that it would take months before the CLE would be full featured and fine tuned. On reflection, this statement doesn't surprise me.

same here, glad to read this. they should take some time to adress these problems before rolling the update to stable. i'd still like a little wipe thursday to help us wait another week :)

To some extent, I feel that should be more or less necessary, to supplement diet from "natural" sources. I feel like there should be at least three main energy strategies:

- scavenged food (+stolen from other players) with perhaps cannibalism (your PvP focused psychopath type)

- scavenged food + some "natural sources" (most players probably here)

- heavy natural sources with no or little scavenged food (crazy survivalist types like me)

------

Totally supporting yourself just by looting food should be a precarious and unreliable strategy in my mind. It's also less interesting for the game as a whole as you have to interact with fewest features this way.

If we get an experimental update today I will be sooo happy.

 

Playing on mostly barren maps makes me loopy.

 

I've casually worked on a 3PP player for a couple days and had some good luck.

 

Foraging to be healthy enough to loot for farming implements.

 

Farming enough just to stay healthy.

 

It felt really lucky to find a pickaxe to dig with and then we found 2 more and a couple trench shovels.

 

If you're worried about wearing down your shoes, remember duct tape will bring them from badly damaged back to damaged.

 

Devs are still quiet.... no news/status report yet.

 

Victor Kane posted that he wants to put an animation in for peering into ones backpack.

 

So there's that....

 

Somehow I feel like if we didn't get a patch yet today that we shouldn't expect anything until Wednesday.   :(

 

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. *sigh*

I agree.

 

I wasn't complaining, just making an observation. I do have a concern though. Is the CLE smart enough to dole out an appropriate amount of loot for one person and is it equally capable to scale up its efforts, should the server become busy with additional players? I'm not suggesting that it can't, but I look forward to seeing how it will perform on a busy 75-person server.

I got a "Server is stopping. You will be kicked" message, usually it's "Server is restarting. You will be kicked.". Possible update?

 

There isn't much usable loot for me going on at the moment.

This character which is around I guess 20 hours old has so far found one can of tactical bacon and one soda can. And believe me I always do my searching job thorough, I search all outhouses, garages, sheds, rooms, corners, etc.

 

I started at Cherno but didn't search there because it's usually useless. Went to Prigorodki, Pusta, Mogrilevka, Vyshnoye, Rogovo, Pogorevka, Sosnovka and Pustoshka. The last mentioned was where I found the can of tactical bacon and soda can. So in all these small towns and the last big town I only found one food and one drink. If it wasn't for the apple picking at the beginning and the fishing and cow hunting I would been long dead.

 

The only loot I could find were tools (pliers, fishing hook, pen, etc.) or clothes. Nothing really I needed at this point in the game.

 

So in conclusion, the surviving isn't the problem at the moment but the lack of loot. I would like to see some more loot. Searching 5 towns to make some leather gear will get boring eventually.

 

I read however that there was a problem with spawning? A few pages back I've seen people say that loot is spawning well, etc. In my opinion the loot respawning has been broken from the beginning (same as the 0.55 CLE at the start).

OK, not funny!

 

They wiped one of my tents this morning (haven't checked on the other one yet).

 

Just now, they wiped the backpacks that I had stashed.

 

It looks like I got geared up just in the nick of time. I had gotten sick from eating fish and I got hot at the same time. I stripped down to cool off and at the same time stash my good gear in the backpacks in camp (in case the food poisoning killed me). No sooner did I start feeling better and gear back up, then literally thirty seconds later, the server went down. All of my packs are now gone! Luckily I saved some of the more essential gear.

 

That was close!!!

Sounds like I should wait a while to get on until the initial loot bonanza has dried up a bit. Excited to see how the CLE may have changed though.
