the reaction to mass amounts of zeds worry me

so I've seen they have added a shit ton of zeds on H1Z1 yes i have mentioned a title that shall not be named but please just give it sec. so they added a lot of zeds 

and the community is bitching and crying that there are to many that they can't PVP they can't drink water boo fuckin hoo i eat there tears for sustenance. So its got me worried about one of the few games i really care about Dayz now i imagine the zeds are gonna be harder to deal with in this game once they are implemented and running top notch. this has me worried i personally want the game to be brutal i want the zeds to never give up and i want to encounter them anywhere and everywhere i want to use the best weapon i can my brain against them. i understand some do not like this and want to just pew pew all damn day and fight humans i get that but its not what i want nor what i signed up for. i hope the dev team become clear about there plans to implement them which they have given us an idea but what can we really expect in numbers and danger that way when it happens no one is crying or bitching or starting petitions to get it changed back to a TDM. i'm curious as to your all thoughts maybe i'm just being delusional but i can see it happening to this game to once the shit really hit the fan so to speak.

Long live lots of zombies everywhere! May there be one hundredfold  the number of zombies vs players in every server ever and no server option to change it! BRING ON THE FLESH EATING BEASTS IN MASS HORDES!

This game needs to be brutal. DayZ talked so much shit about how authentic and difficult it would be, it'd be a shame for it not to live up to its own hype. Personally, I lost interest in H1Z1 after less than ten hours. The game feels too cartoon-ish -- they can add as many zombies as they want, it's always going to feel like a State of Decay ripoff to me.

 

DayZ feels more visceral, thus appealing to me. Once everything is ironed out and there are massive amounts of zombies, I'll be a happy camper. ♥

Well, if you had actually read about the problems H1Z1 is having, then this topic wouldn't be necessary. The H1Z1 community has always wanted more zombies, but the system right now spawns endless amounts of them out of thin air. You can't defeat them because as soon as you kill one, another spawns in the same location and comes right after you.

You can never make the place safe, because x amount of zombies you kill are x amount of zombies that respawn in the same location with in seconds. It's exactly like CoD Zombies, except zombies spawn right on top of you and there are no "rounds." The problem is not the people, it's the mechanics.

Adding current state zombies in Dayz to hordes would be game breaking. You cannot hide from them, you cannot combat a horde without a crap load of ammo, and it takes a long run to get them to finally stop. Melee wouldn't work either because you have to constantly circle around tightly. The zombies need an overhaul before hordes are implemented.

Are they really shutting down threads that mention H1Z1? Anyway zombie hordes, if done right and not carbon copied from the mod will be very welcoming. I want to see snipers have undead from 60 meters swarm their nest after taking a shot at someone being sneaky in a town, small groups temporally culling zombie hordes from spawning after dumping hundreds of rounds an dropping dozens zombies collectively. In the mod days it was very frustrating having hordes auto target you after M107 fire took place because you were the nearest player to them while the sniper firing at you was left unmolested by zombies or spending 10 minutes trying to clear an area of a town or base of zombies to exfil with no cooldown.

You're not suppose to have more ammo than infected and they are overhauling them.  The devs need to add the hordes in order to get feedback on how they work and tweak them as we go.  If you can't handle the testing, stay out of the alpha.

Im all for them devs making this game as realistic and challenging as possible, if the TDM kiddies dont like it they can wait for the mods or go play another game.

I wanna see it become a dilemma whereby you choose whether to go out of your camp/house/barricaded scrapyard at all because of the hordes of infected out there. You should wait until nightfall and sneak out, none of this jogging around freely in broad daylight. It should be apocalyptic.

More zeds, more horror, more player skill, knowledge and intuition needed to succeed.

I'd like more zeds, but they need to have a set number and not respawn. If dayz wants to be more realistic then you wouldn't have infected people poping out of thin air. You should be able to clear a town and the surrounding area.

I also hate it when they just pop up. It may be "unrealistic", but maybe they should respawn from the mass grave objects (already contained in Arma 2). Each town/settlement should contain such an object anywhere from which they spawn and wander around.

TFW a zombie clips through a wall and flails his hands in the air, magically hitting you while you run around ten feet away. Multiply that by twenty.

In the end I don't think the average player will have enough ammunition to "deal with" a horde, nor will we have unlimited stamina that lets us outrun them simply by turning around and double tapping W.

 

The zombies themselves definitely need more overhauling, but getting the attention of a horde should be nigh suicidal if you're not prepared for one. I'm not saying every time you get a zombie's attention they need to be so hard that your death is guaranteed, but escaping hordes should involve simultaneously combining all aspects of dealing with zombies; running, using stealth to avoid the numbers, making noise or distracting the horde, and picking off stragglers when possible. Don't bother trying to battle the horde head on unless you've got a group behind your back that knows what they're doing.

 

Full on gunning down hordes with 75 round drum AKMs and sniper rifles needs to be more a unique and 'achieved' playstyle, rather than the norm. Again, not that this shouldn't exist, as players/groups who can gear up enough and form "zombie extermination squads" or whatnot would be a very cool concept, but as it stands pretty much everyone has easy access to powerful firearms and gear, making those events inherently uninteresting.

we dont only need more zeds, we need SMART zeds!

 

because our zeds are INFECTED! not some braindead walking vodoo zombies.

let them have the instincts of predators like:

 

1. always use cover to aproach

2. let them try to attack from the back

3. let them sneak up on you

4. let them get more zeds ! 

5. they should know how to flank!

 

this, what we have now, is plain boring. 

the infected sees you, starts yelling and then aproaches you on a straight line.

no animal with at least a nutshell left of instincts would act that stupid.

and now try to imagine running through cherno with a wolfpack of badass infected on ur arse trying to cut u off from ur squad.

 

now thats dayz for me !

actually if you use a little stealth you can not take any aggro me and a friend did just fine last night looted an entire town without taking aggro till some bambi ran a horde into us. the trick is if you get caught by one you take it into a building and kill it oh well i'm not having trouble and talking about another game on a forum not meant for it is something i shouldn't do good day sir.

When killed they should spawn in the forest or something. And then Roam back to where they came from. Other setups will be to taxing for the engine.

Zeds not respawning is not an option. Because then servers would be as empty of zeds as they are now.

Zs in that other "sergey" game were better managed. But yes those too had weird things

I was playing last night and I swear there were more zeds around.....

 

In Berezino and I got attacked by 3 then another 3 right away came charging round a corner I dealt with them then came across a group of five more milling around in a group just on the other side of a wall...  (I then got KOS)

 

Anyone know if the devs have sneaked a little update in? Felt like there were more on all of the 3 servers I played on last night? I was chased by 4 at one point all round Elektro.. I didnt go inland last night so it was just along the coast.

They shouldn't be gone for good. They should all respawn on server resets. Have like 5,000 on a server. Even at full pop it would take more than a 4 hour restart to clear the map. Even have like 500 zeds in towns like Cherno and electro. That would be a blast Edited by Bigbadchuck

Servers won't be restarting every 2-4 hours once the game gets fleshed out

Let them spawn in the middle of nowhere, and wander around the map. Once the AI is properly coded, they will naturally become drawn to high activity spots.

Anything else than the way it is now. I've seen zombies spawn out of thin air just meters in front of me. It really takes away the feeling.

MMmm sounds fun untill you run into cherno with a average comp and watch your FPS go.... pfffrtttttwarblegarblenonotdoingitanymore.
