    New pistol concept

Hold my beer while I buy several.

Kevlar, other needed items in DayZ.

I think you can hit a plate four or five times before it cracks, but that's a plate. I've plowed through a spare Kevlar vest with my Army buddies with some M9s and M4s and even the M9s went through maybe 20% of the time. The M4? Every time there was an entry through the front and exit in the back. I'd really only trust a full plate, not just Kevlar on its own.

    DayZ Slowly dying ?

I honestly think that most people are concerned about some potential mismanagement in regards to updates and fixing things. A lot of features that the community has requested, or a lot of bugs that the community has dealt with since day one, are either sloppily done or not done at all. I get that development is difficult and some things aren't able to be done easily from a time or resource perspective, but even then my patience with some basic issues is fading. A lot of promises came to fruition late or not at all. Once again, development is an arduous process. But when you say something is getting there and should be good to go in the third quarter or whatever, people will expect it in the third quarter and lose faith when it isn't even close to ready. Then there's the whole dev/community issue. Regardless of how hard development is, there's not really a transparency to it. Nobody knows if these issues are being worked on because the dev reports are few and far between, and then often cryptic and empty: "Yeah, we have our team working on... stuff... and things..." There have been issues since launch that there's absolutely no feedback about getting around to. People get frustrated at this. Then they say they're taking a break for a month before the issues are ironed out and it might become a bit better but then there's no word and they just kind of forget about the game. That's me right now (well, I also am super busy now but that's just a personal thing.) The hype has kind of dissipated by now and people are still frustrated that it's still alpha even after the game has been there for a year and a half. People distrust the early access idea now. I'd argue it's because of DayZ's development.
  4. If they unjanked the damn camera then maybe I wouldn't mind. But for now I kind of think Arma engine first person isn't terrific.

    Dayz firefights!

I still think my Cherno bum fights were more entertaining.

    No Loot Spawning?

Loot spawning is kind of janked. I found a SMERSH in a shed and a flak vest in an outhouse.

    Moaning about death

I've seen more threads complaining about people complaining about .55 than I have actual threads complaining about .55.

magnum=worst gun to use on zombies?

I had a suppressed CR75 before a hill ate my character and it worked dandy on zombies. Four chest shots and good to go.

    .55 sucks its too hard!

To be fair, it's their game, too. Both sides bring up valid points. I don't think it's fun if I die 90% of the time on the coast. I don't think it's fun if AKs were in every house. There's a way to balance and/or have server options. I'm sure they'll make hardcore servers more hardcore in the future instead of just 1PP. So don't discount an entire group of people just because their views are different.
  10. theevancat

What do you think about the new update .55

Definitely feels like an experimental patch put out on stable for some reason. IMHO it wasn't ready.
  11. I think they're kind of broken. One punch shouldn't break my arm and that punch shouldn't come from a magical flailing zombie ten feet away. Plus they make no sound at all aside from ambient grunting (and I heard that about once.)
  12. theevancat

New Zombies (how to deal with)?

They don't make noise anymore, not even footsteps (I can't hear any, anyways.) That's what's off putting about them, combined with their bugged punches (yeah, I'm standing on the other side of the field, you shouldn't even be seeing me much less ruining all my clothes.)
  13. theevancat

the reaction to mass amounts of zeds worry me

TFW a zombie clips through a wall and flails his hands in the air, magically hitting you while you run around ten feet away. Multiply that by twenty.

    Black Mountains

Takes a lot of man hours to do it. Plus you have to pay those guys.
  15. This is why I'm not a doctor.
