Jdawg2398 0 Posted October 20, 2014 When I purchased this game I was very happy to play, But sadly it wont run properly on my computer. I have posted and check around and there is no solution as my computer is just to slow and old to run it. I am really hoping that I can get a refund on this game or at least maybe sell it to someone some how so I can get my $30 back. Please reply is you have any information reguarding how to get a refund, thanks- Jdawg2398

Max Planck 7174 Posted October 20, 2014 You bought it from Steam, so it is up to them. That said, you should have checked minimum requirements before purchasing. I doubt Steam will reverse the sale on that reason.
SmashT 10907 Posted October 20, 2014 You will need to take up the refund request with Steam Support - as the platform / transaction point, they would handle it.

Rags! 1966 Posted October 20, 2014 It would have been funny if he was asking for a refund for his computer and not the game.
yazar8 584 Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) You paid for it once, don't request a refund now. You can never know when will you have a new computer which would run DayZ without a flaw or even an awesome update to the engine which will fix rendering issues (upcoming in a few months) and make the game playable? You probably won't get your money back, but If I were you, I would not try to get it back too. Edited October 20, 2014 by Yazar8
Max Planck 7174 Posted October 20, 2014 Yazar has a good point. It's going to take a good long while before the game is completed anyway, might as well hold on to your copy and see what the future has in store for your computer.

CANUCKinNZ 108 Posted October 21, 2014 Yes I agree. It's cheaper now then it will be in full release but they've already said if you buy the early access you won't pay more. The games probably not done for a year and a half or 2 years so just keep the same steam account and the game's yours forever. Also though perhaps we can help you with adjusting your in game settings? The game isn't optimised yet so most computers are having issues with one aspect or another. Ram or Vid Card ) died out and you were forced to use less powerful replacements. Anyways, I'm on the boat of Keep The Game, after you have a chance to repair or upgrade your rig, well worth it. OrganGrinder 89 Posted October 21, 2014 What are your sepcs, perhaps we can troubleshoot it for you.Agreed. There are probably some optimization settings you can do that speed things up.

But while I am certain that optimization will take place and DayZ retail will offer a smother experience than alpha\Beta, considering all DayZ SA visual improvements I strongly doubt that DayZ SA minimum requirements wont be higher than the Mod. In fact, I bet that it was a considered that after 3 year development cycle the average hardware will be higher and would be less of an issue.

If you read the quote you are quoting, you would see that he is actually saying that he should hang on to the game in the very likely case that he will get a new computer some time in the future. Not that they will optimise the game so minimum requirement specs will be lowered.

Mor (DayZ) 57 Posted October 22, 2014 @BadAsh, I know what he said.. and if you look closely, you'll see that I marked the specific part which was the topic of my comment, the holy grail optimization that many refer to. Sorry if it seem like an attempt to nit pick at his advice, but it wasn't.
