Just off the top of my head...

Zombies that are completely silent and sneak up on you like a ninja.

Zombies that can track you like a heat seaking rocket.

Zombies that can travel through walls.

Hearing sounds like a Zombie scream when there is nothing around.

Putting something on the ground only to have it dissappear.

Constantly having to cancel actions because it glitches and does nothing.

Controls that are complete garbage.

Texture pop-ins when surveying areas.

Falling through buildings.

Glitching in lakes.

The list goes on and on...

One year of being a mod, 9 months in Alpha, and what you get from this group of devs is one of the most unplayable games ever made. You devs are pathetic and should be sued for purposely taking money when you knew you couldn't complete the task you were getting paid for.

And brining this POS to PS4... lol I'd bet money it's another "Alpha" that never gets finished.

Just off the top of my head...

Zombies that are completely silent and sneak up on you like a ninja.  <----  If you are too dull to keep your eyes open ..complain elsewhere

Zombies that can track you like a heat seaking rocket. <----News flash!!!! if they can see you they will chase you. A 1st gen zed can see 200 yards a seond generation Zed 600 yards though shit if you can't handle it.

Zombies that can travel through walls.<----I havent seen that in awhile sport.

Hearing sounds like a Zombie scream when there is nothing around.<----so what? Grow a pair,

Putting something on the ground only to have it dissappear.<----learn where you can and can not drop things.... under trees are a bad choice sport.,

Constantly having to cancel actions because it glitches and does nothing. <-------Do I detect a lack of dexterity?

Controls that are complete garbage<------opinions are like assholes everyone has one.

Texture pop-ins when surveying areas.<-----so what? learn to configure your system

Falling through buildings<-------Ancient history

Glitching in lakes<-----Never happened to me and I've never seen it.

The list goes on and on <-----the crying from trolls like you goes on, and on, and on, and on.

One year of being a mod, 9 months in Alpha, and what you get from this group of devs is one of the most unplayable games ever made. You devs are pathetic and should be sued for purposely taking money when you knew you couldn't complete the task you were getting paid for.<----a stupid comment

And brining this POS to PS4... lol I'd bet money it's another "Alpha" that never gets finished<----go play something you can handle sport like echo the dolphin or a Barbie game. , .

What a pathetic little rant you have generated

Then there is this:

What the developers have to say:

“DayZ Early Access is your chance to experience DayZ as it evolves throughout its development process. Be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. We strongly advise you not to buy and play the game at this stage unless you clearly understand what Early Access means and are interested in participating in the ongoing development cycle.”

I guess the ''easily butthurt'' warning didn't really get through.

I'm just wondering how in the world you guys can play a buggy game like this and enjoy it.

The communication to the players is the worst i've seen in any game. The ''improvements'' is just as much a screw-up as the whole game (yeah let's throw in ragdoll, great idea!)

The most basic, fundamental aspects of the game, like movement, picking stuff up, looking around, is still broken.

we're talking about 3,5 years of development!!!!

That is insane!

It's idiots like you (also the OP) that shouldn't be allowed a computer let alone the ability to "help test" an unfinished product.

You're not here to "play" the game as such but to find and report issues, try using google and search "define alpha testing" you just might get it then but I do highly doubt it.

I, honestly, find people like you confusing. Why do you defend the devs that knowingly sold a buggy product to ignorant people? Isn't that like exploitation of the stupid?

Exegeration.

Using sheep is as old as Money. Or even older...altho in the old times things dident come with disclaimers plastered allover ;) IMOH his Point is valid, altho not worded in the most efficent way.

I guess the ALPHUR disclaimer is one of the most quoted lines on these Forums anyways :D

Thus...everyone gets what they deserve...its the perception/perspective that makes the difference in onesself.

If i get bored with dayZ ( and i fucking Play every damm day almost 600h since 23.12.13 ) i stop and Play/do something else. Just to come back later to run around and die again :D

There's a reason why the stuff is taking long...because they went entirely off track with all the extra stuff they're adding (new render and upgraded/updated game engine) so yeah. Don't like the wait for more and better stuff? Then GTFO, no one will miss you.

No need for insults, it ruins unnecessarily a perfectly good Topic  which then needs to be heavily moderated leading to cries of despair from certain members.

Thank you.

I'm not defending anyone and they didn't sell a buggy product, they gave you and everyone else the chance to help them make a product, you are the one who made the choice to do it.

How am I ignorant? I knew what was coming when I got this game. The only people who are ignorant and/or stupid is the ones who think they were going get this game and play it without any issues.

I've took part in many different alphas, closed and open betas I knew what was expected, I knew it wasn't going to great, broken and unplayable at times, that's what alpha is.

It bugs me to no end when I see comments like this, the one I quoted, the OPs and the countless ones before this and the countless that will follow, learn what alpha means until then go play something else and let the people who want to help this game do it in peace.

I wasn't calling you ignorant. :) You said that many DayZ purchasers were idiots but if you knowingly sell a product to the ignorant aren't you kinda' exploiting them?

The developers didn't make a typical free alpha release for true testing purposes. They released DayZ commercially. It is still on the frontpage of Steam. A disclaimer doesn't magically absolve you from critique if you are selling a product. If you buy something based on broken (beta) promises who is at fault? The consumer or the producer? The one that is making money or the one that has given money?

After 500 hours played there is no denying I have gotten my money's worth. You can also not deny the devs have repeatedly failed to meet deadlines and are not inline with the roadmap that they, themselves, published.

Well I know who's at fault but I'm interested in hearing your opinion on it.

Now I don't mean to sound condescending here but it's hard not to, do you honestly think that every product that is made, be it a game, a new car or even some new buildings being erected didn't fail to meet a deadline at some point? There's always going to be unforeseen circumstances that will prevent something from moving forward.

No, I don't think it's exploiting the stupid, if you want to spend money on something that clearly is labelled as alpha or beta before  fully understand the meaning then it's your own fault, next time do some homework, read up on it.

The moderators should just start locking these posts. Nothing constructive comes from them.

If we would we would by called hypocrites again and have even more people yelling at us...

Especially as I don't mind the discussion going on in here for once. Keep it calm and steady and this thread shall remain.

I DONT GET PEOPLE THAT KEEP SAYING ALPHA!!! They are like parotts reapeating that alpha warning for close to a year now. I can see them IN 2015 KEEP SAYING THE SAME THING.

Ever heard of deadlines?

I think everyone around here but you has heard of deadlines and actually knows how to read. The plan was to not even be near Beta at this point in time and at the earliest at around end of the year (which is atleast 3-4 months from now).

So - deadlines are there and they're still atleast one quarter away. We're going to use the term "Alpha" as long as it's an Alpha. As that's what it is.

Now, if you will, go back to your girlfriend / psychologist / mother / priest and yell at them when they are finally going to stop calling "cheese" by what it is.

You speak the turth, although only deadline Im concerned about is the release. If that gets pushed much Im very dissapointed.

Well I know who's at fault but I'm interested in hearing your opinion on it.

The person making the money is at fault. 100%. It is the publishers job to make sure that they are informing consumers are potential problems with a product. Obviously the "do not purchase" disclaimer is worthless if the game is plastered all over the front of Steam...

Deadlines can be missed. The whole problem with the Early Access alpha phenomena is that people can now sell games based on promises that will never be kept. I can simply promise my game will be complete in a year and you would buy it based on this promise. 1 year later if that game is still not released you have no possibility of a refund. In fact, I never have to keep my promise since I already have your money and you have no way to get it back.

If I purchase a car that is supposed to work and it breaks a few months later because of a manufacturer error I can either get my money back or get my car fixed. The same with a house or a building. Consumer protection exists for a reason...

See I knew you would say that, and no you're 110% wrong, they make it well aware what the game's state is, regardless of where you find it plastered all over. They did not make you spend your money did they? You made that choice, heck, if you did your homework before doing so I'm sure you'd find Dean's own comment telling people NOT to buy it, you still did and then bitch about it. I'm sorry but it's all your own fault.

I'm not doubting the fact there's people out there scamming money in this way and just because there's a few who have done so doesn't mean every other game developer is doing the same. Like I said do your homework, Bohemia is a well know company so the trust is already there, Dean has his rep from the mod so again, trust is there, As for a regular Joe like yourself, I wouldn't look twice at your game because there's no background on what you've done, but if others want to back you then that's on them, it's their money.

if you feel you've been taken for a ride then take it to the courts, get your money back that, but trust me for 30 bucks (or what ever currency you use) it won't be worth it because you won't win.

I am not speaking for me, personally. Again, I have 500 hours in the game. I am talking about the idea of Early Access releases in general.

It's their own fault that some people trusted the game would be in beta by December 2014? It seems that no matter what you will just defend the developers so this conversation is over.

What does this have to do with my comment? RagedDrew wrote: "Now I don't mean to sound condescending here but it's hard not to, do you honestly think that every product that is made, be it a game, a new car or even some new buildings being erected didn't fail to meet a deadline at some point? If I pay for someone to build a house for me and they don't deliver on schedule or provide shoddy work I can get my money back, through litigious action if I need to. The same protection doesn't exist for Steam users.

Tbh, the worst thing is the community full of people who never played the mod (I don't count Epoch/Origins cancer as DayZ).

The comparsion itself was useless, no matter who brought it in first, simply because early-access does not exist for cars or houses. You exactly got the product described on the store page. Feel free to check it out again. It clearly says:

“DayZ Early Access is your chance to experience DayZ as it evolves throughout its development process. Be aware that our Early Access offer is a representation of our core pillars, and the framework we have created around them. It is a work in progress and therefore contains a variety of bugs. That's what you bought. It doesn't matter much what the devs say, it doesnt change the product description. Also i wouldnt call their own personal schedule "deadlines", its more targets. When the devs claim "We want to finish X until date Y" or "We aim for the game to reach beta in december" thats neither a promise nor a deadline, its a target, a goal they set for themselves.
