How do you guys do it aside from feeding disinfect and rotten food?

For me if there was a guy trying to kill me, I would shoot his legs and break it. After breaking it i would steal his stuffs, and do to the nearest tree and craft a splint. After that I would tell him to go to where I've place the splint. This gives me enough time to run away and give him a chance to move again.

 

So how do you guys torture people?

Get a few zombies aggro'd, then lure them to a broken legged victim...

 

Tell them to run along the runways at NWAF with an unloaded SKS (have a mosin on them at all times), if they do 2 laps, they get to live...

More or less. At the time, it took like 20 min to die from the sickness, but i started puking and shit right off the bat.

Restrain and/or break legs. Burlap sack.  Sometimes we'll use the boondock saints prayer. Others it'll just be us saying random things using voice changers.

 

Lately we'll shoot a guys legs to break it, run up to him, bandage him up, and tell him that there are sticks in the middle of the road one way, and rags on the other way.    Gives us more than ample time to get away.

Here is what i did :
I handcuffed guy,placed a burlap sack on his head,and kept fidding him[not with rotten food] until he didn't vomit :D then i shoot his legs,and setted him free,he was begging me to kill him as we were nearly Novodmitrovsk somewhere in the woods,and just to crawl to a city would take hours i guess xd

Imo the solution for KoS is more torture methods. Wish I could sufocate someone with a plastic bag, or pull their teeth with rusty pliers. Also would be nice to be able to drag people arround, so you can get your victim to that old ap. block and have you both a lot of fun. We could use hammers to break restrained people legs/arms without dealing to much damage lol, also poke their eyes out would be a nice adition.

He's kinda' correct. There is a reason that torture was super popular when the game was first released and now it is a rare occurrence. People were fascinated by it since "torture" as a social mechanic in a multiplayer environment doesn't really exist outside of normal MMO griefing.

Torturing people without the possibility of some kind of reward is extremely anomalous human behavior. The vast majority of people don't actually derive pleasure from causing others pain or discomfort. Even most murders happen for a reason, not just murder for the sake of murder. For a person to torture others over and over again in DayZ does hint that they might have a deeper psychological problem, perhaps caused by a feeling of helplessness or loss of control at some point in their life.

But, ya. Keep thinking this behavior is normal, buddy. :)
