I played for like half an hour(got killed so quitting to have dinner)

 

Noticed new animations and a higher run speed for when you have a gun out, awesome. Before you were like a snail.

 

 

 

Does experimental just always turn in to a deathmatch? Guy killed me at the NE Airfield, I was just trying to explore and find new stuff dammit -_-

Also had the reticule pointed at him and fired a whole 10 SKS rounds not one hit so yeah hopefully this hits stable on Wednesday the rubberbanding and lag is awful :lol:

 

I found the new pistol, fired a shot(I found 3 9mm rounds in some random shrine thing)

Seems decent.

 

I think I heard someone shooting an AKM too, it wasn't an M4 anyway unless the sound has been completely changed.

 

Hopefully they will add a lot more experimental servers in future it seemed like everything good had already been looted in that one.

 

 

Berry finding is ok I guess, a little slow though shouldn't take that long to pick just one berry. I think they should make berries show on bushes but on others they don't so you have to search a while and possibly find something poisonous.

 

Didn't find any animals, didn't really look though but at least they're not everywhere.

I've seen 1 Boar, and he apparently was impervious to my Machete. How can anyone resist the Machete?

Its not Experimental thats a Deathmatch, its DayZ. On experimental I still haven't got killed, and everyone I have found are friendly. We even ended up in a group of 4 back in Berezino looking for people to shoot us, and were still finding friendlies, so I guess its just your luck.

But if your at the airfield, expect to get shot. Airfields will make even friendly players shoot others, its an evil area.

They are adding more Experimental servers, the first day there were barely 10 maybe (regular and hardcore all together). I doubt it will hit Stable soon, but it really makes no difference. It needs to be stable before they put it in stable no?

The rubberbanding is awsul I agree, sometimes I have to just log off because I will get rubberbanded in the same place over and over without letting me get away! They did say they were addressing the rubberbanding with server performances this week, so hopefully its better.

Still though it's annoying how not everyone can band together like that, I was walking around saying in chat that I'm not there to kill people they could have at least had a second thought about it but they were clearly just camping up the stairs.

 

Yeah I was stuck in one place for like 2 minutes...

Kept teleporting back but then at one point I went back in to the building I was next to, so it was like that's where I was actually stuck but it kept putting me outside the building then it fixed.

 

It wasn't as bad as some people make it sound though.

 

I'm going back on now if there's any spaces :P

Hopefully some of the servers will have just restarted.

 

 

Where are these crashed heli's also?

Ive met 2 friendlies in experimental lately. Versus the last experimental patch (large one) I always met friendlies. 

 

Now I get guys who I help while they are overwhelmed by zeds shoot at me, I tell them I will give them all of my gear no need to kill me.. and he still kills me. I was even nice about the whole thing.. 

 

I get players that run up to me out of nowhere and shoot me dead. I get players that run, hide, go silent, or log out when I speak to them. I get players (mostly freshies) that chase me down over 500m+ until I pull my gun out and tell them to back off, while putting my moto helmet on.. this finally makes them back off. I mean, come on.. cant we all just enjoy the experimental and explore/test without the needless deathmatch? We are NOT playing for fun right now.. its literally for testing.

 

People got it all backwards.. they think its the new DLC or something.

Too easy to bring down trees. You just spam F as fast as you can. Five seconds is an eon compared to tree chopping. There should be a melee sharpening tool too because after each tree you lose a quality tier. I got rubber banding too, but I fixed it by walking, not running.

 In my experience exp. is friendlier than the stable build. I had some good shootouts so far, but also some nice friendly encounters.

 

Btw. what do I need to skin/gut an animal? A knife or machete? The axe did not to it for me :/

Experimental is a disaster trying to test things with the immature people KOS when your fishing etc... Next time limit people to the experimental that are actually mature and want to test the new features and add good productive feedback to the game!!!! COD type play when testing new features should be highly discouraged just my opinion on it and being a experienced beta tester for many years!! Mature!

I successfully skinned a deer with a machete yesterday and have seen it done successfully with a knife!

I have actually met quite a few friendly's in the latest experimental, I was heading into Berezino yesterday with a moto helmet on though, two guys come running out and try to punch me out, I axed them both a question, then wishing I had a rifle with ammo and could have just forced them to crawl for hours. then I offer a guy help and medical aid if he needs it, tell him that flashlights go through walls and I could see him from outside. He says "don't care brah" now saying "brah" is enough to make me want to kill you, but then he goes for his loaded crossbow, 3 to the chest with the SKS and a heavy sigh about how stupid people are.

 

So far, only 3 Kills in one life on experimental? I'd call that good considering I've teamed with around 4-5 people in BIG cities.

Killed it with 1 shot from a Blaze, which was scary only had two rounds.

So you can't get anything from them with an axe or a hacksaw sadly, I tried just hitting it thought maybe you could hack them up for damaged meat maybe, that would be cool I think.

Not sure what they're going to do with the AI but for now they literally just run directly away from you so you can steer them wherever you want. Hopefully we'll be able to make livestock farms in future, of some sort anyway.

It was awesome just seeing the thing wandering around in front of me made the game feel somehow very different.

Can't wait for more animals, especially wolves it would be awesome if we could make a wolf skin jacket just so you could walk around looking badass.

 

Got some firewood too but no idea what to do with it.

Guess I'll need matches and rocks? Quite impressed with it anyway, thought it would be really glitchy but the frame rate of the tree falling seems fine it's just a bit too easy to cut them down but whatever it's placeholder.

 

Hopefully nobody will kill me before I test out campfires >.>

 

Met a few people that didn't attack me, but probably only because I had weapons.

Felt charitable, gave a random dude a bandage after saving him from a zombie.

 

Nobody responded to me in chat, in fact nobody ever has...

I don't get why people can't just say "Hey" or something it takes two seconds.

 

 

I like that you can run faster with a gun now but...that just means it will be even harder to escape bandits...not sure why they would change that now.

Next time limit people to the experimental that are actually mature and want to test the new features and add good productive feedback to the game!!!! COD type play when testing new features should be highly discouraged just my opinion on it and being a experienced beta tester for many years!! Mature!

 

We're testing to make sure your skull isn't bulletproof.  Can't have that as a bug.

Guys i have question i read that m4 spawns in heli crash site but it still spawns in previous locations?

I've been getting some game crashes. First time this has ever happened. Not sure why but it;s happened at least 4 times while/after loading in.

Alright, this is slightly annoying. The rubberbanding has put both my characters, Regular and Hardcore, into the inaccesible room in the police building; Which means I can no longer play on Experimental. I have been trying the regular "Being stuck inside of a building" fix but it doesn't work, they are both still in the room. Is there, perhaps, any fix I have overlooked that works?

I said one backpack - in one backpack you can put only the most basic of initial survive-ing -  so

 

Ah, honest mistake there reading "one" as an "a", pardon me. But when writing about hoarders, I was also thinking of persistant things in general, base building for example.

 

Either way, let me pack ONE mountain backpack with 35 slots:

- fnx with 2 mags - 30 slots left

- pants(4), upper body wear (4) and chest rig(6) - 16 slots left.

- LRS (if I can get a spare one) 14 slots left

- burlap sack (2), 3 sticks (2) and rope (1) (don't know about leather, I think that it needs more space) for an improvised backpack and splints - 9 slots left

- maybe a can opener - 8 slots left

- ammo for the SKS, Mosin  and 3 mags for different rifles - done.

 

I hope I did not miscalculate here...

 

Not using protective cases, which are also a possibility here. I have the weapon I killed second most ppl with, even though it sometimes takes time to find the FNX and a mag. I think it is the best weapon up to 30 or 40 meters you can have and I have killed up to 60 meters with it - not talking about a bambi in berezino, but a fully geared m4 guy at the neaf that shot first and broke my legs. He simply sprayed to much to finish me. Don't misunderstand me, I don't consider myself a good player in pvp. I'm certainly not ashamed to say I ran away plenty of times or evaded players to start with ;). While I search out pvp when geared up, the most important thing for me is surviving.

 

Out of 27 deaths in pvp, at least 26 were from less than 40 meters distance. One I am not sure of, I was shot in Svetlo with a mosin from behind, but it sounded close. Ppl of course tried, but never succeeded. So when I compare how close my average reason of demise was and the distance I am comfortable with the FNX, I am quite happy.

 

Of course more stuff will enter the game and I will not always manage to pack such a backpack for my future self before dying, but it is certainly not a basic survival package if I manage it. The rarest item is probably by far the LRS, if you don't loot tent towns on empty servers. If you can't find an FNX and mag, just take a Magnum or whatever else has 6 or more little friends. Only a sawed of shot gun is also an option, not so great for me though. If I had such a backpack close to the beach, I would loot for a little food and then go for the backpack. For me there are currently two major parts to the game:

1. The "Thief" part, where you try to gear up and not get shot.

2. The "Thief" part that starts when you found a firearm (not counting .22) and the matching ammunition. Of course some are better than others, but you are not simply a default victim any more.

 

Having the ONE backpack from above would completely eliminate the first part for me. Actually a backpack with "only" a pistol and mag or a sawed of shotgun as well as better pants and a hoodie is already a major game changer. Being able to shoot should be earned. Maybe I am predicting things wrong, but I really don't know if persistant objects and base building will increase my fun with DayZ. I like the idea of having persistant storage that vanishes if you die, storage for all kind of different things like fishing, hunting, wood stuff, whatever will come. I'm just sceptic when it comes to planing for future lives. I can only imagine things like base building and playing in groups with persistant items that do survive one's death, so that is something I will have to deal with.

YES ! it will because I have the same problem when I was at that industrial complex that is by itself in a feild

Happened to me at the barracks south of NW, we ended up shooting my duped entity and taking the gear, 2 days later i'm still alive :/
