Quite important for a survival (but zombie aswell) game, I wonder if DayZ will inherit from that ArmA 3 feature.

Just imagine dusk/dawn or night -since more favourable time to happen whenever if rainy or not- where fog would cover Chernarus from costal (blue) up to further inland (green). Seeing only furtive silhouettes or just hearing zombies around, I bet it would be spooky and stressful. :)

ooh, another thing to make chernarus's (insert personal favorite RP/Survival/Terrain feature here) sooooo much better!

flashing up dayz to go for a hike, spot some wildlife and have a picnic at green mountain.

jesus wept.

he wept because zombies are broken and nobody gives any fucks for them.

They did say they are eventually adding things like fog, snow, etc. So hopefully we get this addition soon.

I still remember the good old time of DayZ Breaking Point when it came out. At night there was this crazy fog that covered the ground. I love the atmosphere it created. It wasn't on all the time, for those crying about every little bit of environment troubling their perfect conditions for their sniper shots. In DayZ BP, it only came at night, but in the SA, fog would come and go depending on conditions.

Dynamic environment is getting better and better in DayZ. I really enjoy all the variants a sandbox experience brings with rain, fog, day/night cycles, snow, thunder storms, etc. I'm looking forward to fog being implemented.

Yes, don't worry there are plenty heights fog couldn't reach (if the one from ArmA3), and on the other hand I think fog would hold few hours per day - not 24h/24.

Actually it would even help FPS, because of the "occlusion culling" improvment.

Bring on the fog from Arma3, it adds a whole other dynamic to the game as well as brilliant atmosphere. Although the fog in the mod was kinda meh, it still brought an atmosphere to it especially when it got really thick.

The more variables in the game, such as weather, disease and the like the better I say.

Yes, we need fog! Screw wannabe sniper noobs :-).

edit: It would have to be done correctly as not to eat FPS and not last whole day.

I hope not.

I want long view distances with clear weather.

Fog can be quite fun...had fog for hours while playing wasteland...didn't even see 10m ahead and was flying all the time lol.

Not that I don't love the fog, but I am under the belief that the scripts used cause pathing and detection issues from the AI system.

The picture of Breaking Point there uses a script running on the client. Was using it myself for a while and then changed it, because the way it was working it wasn't affecting the Zombies at all.

That way people would be screaming that the Zombies are broken, because they can see you in the fog as if it wasn't foggy.

Still struggling with that and the reason the DayZ Mod didn't use the fog too much (even though I still like it and would love to have more fog)

Thank you, I just remember R4Z0R brushing over it in conversation, but I was piss drunk.
