Grinds my gears in the strangest of ways, anybody else getting this?

Hello there

I too haz those feels.

Still, ours is not to reason why...

Also, no one has mentioned the extended mag for some versions of the C96.

Lastly, did not other countries also copy the design in different calibres other than the mauser and the 9mm?

I'm fine with either 9mm or maybe 7.62/ 7.63 I would honestly prefer the Red 9 though, .45 in my mind is a bolo kind of copy which to me seems un preferable.

Now that 9mm is in the game it doesn't seem as silly.

I actually hate that they've added the M1911 > :( can't exactly say why, I've always kinda liked the gun.

I suppose this is just jealousy as it should be my silly semi unfitting gun in the game.

I would always prefer to see guns I've barely seen before in the game though, instead of the usual FPS popular guns like AK vs AKM argument and the M4, colt python.

Seems to me the artists are adding whatever the hell they please, minus a couple like the Ruger, Blaze, CZ-75.

Is all Python, M4 and M1911 before Makarov, AKM, Nagant Revolver.

Grinds my gears in the strangest of ways, anybody else getting this?

Yup. I Don't think they care about what's in it at all, besides the calibers. I mean, really... the AK was atleast useable at E3, yet it's apparently several weeks out still.

We have 2 Russian guns, one Czech gun, and only 5 guns that fit the setting. Truthfully i'm thinking we won't get a Makarov becuase it doesn't use 9x19mm. (There are alot of guns using 9x18mm, though, like the APS and such) Maybe not even the Tokarev... but if they are adding a C96, then it should be 7.63.. then we atleast get 3 possible Tokarev-compatible weapons that are popular with the community. (TT, PPS or PPSh, and C96) and i'm sure we won't get a Nagant 1895, sadly, becuase a Python is soooooo much more common.

Hello there

Dont forget that AK was only a placeholder and that the weapons and models in the SA are of a far higher "quality" and resolution compared to the mod. Also the old AK probably used old Arma ballistics. You cannot compare it to the new model, it just doesnt work like that.

I did. :P Also, it's the 7.63 mauser, not the 7.62 tokarev. It has been said on here that it can fire the 7.62 tokarev with a very very minor decrease in accuracy. I can't confirm or deny this, but there are other firearms chambered in the 7.63 mauser which CANNOT take the 7.62 tokarev. If the c96 can take either round... that's be pretty cool actually. However, I think c96s in 9mm and .45 would be pretty cool as well. The c96 in .45 was used in china during the warlord period. Crazy stuff.

I would like to see the Broomhandle; I would prefer 9mm.  The 7.63 round is weak, and while it will fire the 7.62, that round is loaded to much higher pressures than the Broomhandle was designed for.  It would not explode, but it would quickly malfunction or just completely break down.

As far as rarity - it would not be an immersion breaker nearly as much as some weapons that are already in the game.  There are logical reasons for at least some of these to be in Chernarus, as opposed to, say, the "Magnum".  It was used by Soviet troops and German troops, at least to some extent.  And 9mm is available in game already.

I have some experience with weapons used by insurgent forces in the region.  In Baghdad, we found the Thompson submachine gun.  The Sterling submachine gun, in quantity, in pristine condition.  The Browning Hi-Power - I got to handle a gold-plated one.  The StG 44, with quite a bit of ammo.  Stetchkins, Makarovs, Tokarevs, etc.  The Skorpion.  Lee-Enfields, Mausers of all descriptions, M3 Grease Guns, and on, and on, and on.

I am not by any means saying we should have all of those in game.  But as there seems to have been an insurgency going on, the devs could probably make a very good case for just about any weapon made in the last hundred years.

Historically the C96 hasn't had Major problems firing 7.62x25, besides i little lass accuracy and a few more stoppages.

Thats neat. Did they have any PPShs, PPs, DP machine guns or SVT-40s?

http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg/de/mauser-c-96-e.html

"C-96 also had beeen widely exported - in the 1920s Soviet Russia purchased large quantities of the short-barreled (99 mm barrels) C-96s in 7.63mm, givint the name "Bolo-mauser" (from Bolsheviks' Mauser) to all short-barreled C-96s."

Not my typos, not gonna fix them.

But as you can see Soviets had purchased LARGE QUANTITIES of the 7.63 C96.

In my opinion as Long as its not impossibly rare we really shouldn't be talkin about if the gun is native or not . Yes if people constantly are requesting the most impossible to find guns then we should eagerly deny it but c'mon guys I don't wanna see everything native to the area ... That being said I'm a double edged sword and would rather see something else in terms of unique pistols haha ... But please unless it's a freaking missle launcher lets try and sum up other reasons other than "ls it native" as to why the gun in question shouldn't be added .

The level 50 one in RO2 is kinda broken. It has the same sound as a PPSh when full auto, very deceiving.

Ot is also one of the few semi auto pistols, maybe the only? That has an internal mag.

This can be VERY helpful with how hard mags are to find in DayZ.

Hello there

The full auto version is fun but not as useful as you might think.

Hello there

Its a good sidearm if you're a sniper and can make the initiated believe there's more than one person around.

The larger Mag and single shot is the best mode IMHO. Great little weapon.
