DayZ Hacks already happening

The mods specifically write "please do not post screenshots of hacks" and now every other post is "no one is hacking".

What the hell are we suppose to do? We can't talk about the problem because we can't establish that it IS a problem.

Were you dropped on your head as a child?

Don't post screenshots of hacks (DURR)

No one is hacking (There are SCRIPTS being used, which won't be a problem at all)

You aren't talking about any problems you are whining like a little baby.

If you had any common sense you'd know it was a stupid idea showing people 'Oh, you can do this to cheat'

listen its well known the hacks work for SA, and the fact that the evidence of the hack, which was just a screen shot, was deleted, speaks volumes that hacks are real, and they are trying to make it seem like there is no hacking,

 

Let me clear this up for you:

 

There is hacking. There will always be hacking in every game. Nobody is trying to "hide" that. It's a fact.

 

So what should be done!?!?

 

The dev team should be vigilant and identify the vulnerabilities and close them. We change the architecture so it was no longer reliant on the client but that does not mean we found all the doors and closed them. THe process is to go through, identify those holes and close them. In ArmA, these holes were actually used as part of the game so they could not be closed. In DayZ, we do not use these by virtue of the architecture... but it only takes ONE hole to be left to be exploited.

 

We have already moved hundreds of previous ways things could be exploited at the script and engine level, but that does not mean we got everything and that is the purpose of alpha, and the reason we will be patching very regularly.

I think Rocket summed up all we need to know and this topic should be closed. Raising more awareness about hacks floating around will cause little kids to grab them (and most likely getting their accounts compromised in one way or another). Just my opinion.

As folk *will* rant, id rather keep this established thread open and merge any new threads here. It keeps it all in one place.

 

Discussing things is fine.

 

Links and certain content is not.

 

We are lax here but this is not a democracy. We tolerate far more than many other sites but there are limits.

 

If one dislikes that there are others forums to frequent.

Also attention losers: Do not download anything from Youtube that is pretending to be a standalone cheat. You will get your account stolen and / or bank account robbed.

this is exactly the problem, i have to say.

 

you promised to build a new server-client model with the server in absolute control of everything - but you didnt, as you are obviously using the old and faildesigned serversoftware again.

im am sorry, but if the clients can teleport you can not insist that you rewrote the client/server communication, since the clients are still in charge of what is happening.

That is just an ESP which will be fixed soon as Rocket already said. It isn't even an aimbot or anything. Also the screenshots show nothing more than a menu ( which I could make in MS paint in 2 mins) doesn't even show the ESP showing any items ...

I'm going have to agree with AlcApwn, here. Rocket stated that ArmA script injection "just wouldn't be possible" because they were "disabling that functionality from the client". Yet, in DayZ SA, you can still run all of the same ArmA scripts on the client it carries through the server.

 

There was no C/C++ rewriting and nothing (major?) changed in the engine. They tried to mime what other modders did with ArmA 2 to prevent client scripts... and then failed to even do that much.

 

There is no client-server architecture and the game is not written like a MMO. Heck, the server still sends the whole map information to your client when you first log in, but hey, I can't show you proof of that because that's against the rules.

I think this website has sold many working hacks and currently this hack is offered right now if you think it's ms paint pay the $13 and see for your self...

The promise we made is clearly articulated on the steam website, and is not whatever you feel like. I can provide you a link to the website, can you please provide me a link to where I declared:

  • That hacking would disappear completely, ever
  • That everything would work properly on day 1, or 2, or 3

Here's the bottom line, the DayZ team needs to implement player moderators that can ban these ass hats for hacking. During the mod I only played on private servers because hacking was such an issue.

No it won't because this engine is heavily modified to remove the easy scripting access that the mod had. Once VAC is online anyone even trying to script/hack will be banned and have their key banned from all servers.

 

So does anyone remember the random kicks related to create vehicle restriction #1? If that happens to anyone who isn't hacking it would kinda suck. Also i forget the one about crashing a helicopter that got me kicked and banned on my Clan's own server once we activated an anti-cheat. REALLY hope that doesn't happen when they activate the fly-swatter anti-cheat...

 

P.S. Can't wait for the anti-cheat to be turned on though! :)

To be quite honest, a large number of people saw this event coming.

* Granted I thought it would at-least take a week for the hacks but it seems they have been underestimated.

 

The most important things about the current client / servers system is that hackers unable to "Nuke" the server.

* Forcibly teleporting players , flying cows, jets, tanks etcetc.

you can't just player addWeapon "m16" anymore you have to send info to the server saying you picked it up.
