I am just being realistic. Now there are 3 fractions. The optis (conducts of the hypetrain) and pessis like you and the realists like me. Well, me as a realist I see the next week as a very probable time for the SA release. You as a pessi think it's impossible, as you are a pessi and this is what pessis do.

 

As I said, I'm schizophrenic so on different days I'm all of those things ;)

I am upset that rocket chose to have the zombies respawn instead of all spawn at the server start :(, I was very much looking forward to taking over a town and making it a settlement with a bunch of friends.

 

 

I am seriously hoping that this is just a temporary resolve until they can fix the zombie ai/# of zombies and disable respawning again.

and zombies dont spawn where's some player, u can clear area

Zombies were always going to respawn, I think you've misunderstood what they meant by that. Zombies DO spawn at the server start, they also will respawn as needed. They do not spawn from the client like they do in the mod.

Why would someone go in the forum and tell us? There is no time to waste because the server are going to be filled within minutes.

As others have said, it's a combination of both. Zombies will respawn eventually. I too want to see settled areas clear of zombies. But even in those areas, zombies should always be a threat. It shouldn't just be a case of clearing a town and done. It should be a case of making sure that zombies stay out of the town. It should be a constant thing to attend to.

Oh goodie! I hadn't heard that yet. So did they confirm a working zombie respawn mechanic? I thought I'd heard last that they were still working on that?

I didn't mind the payday mask, but the fresh fruit is a little immersion killing. Maybe in the first week of the apocalypse, but they just keep spawning.

 

Who is importing all these bananas during the apocalypse and hiding them throughout Chernarus?

I'm sure they're working on it in the sense that they're making it better. I assume that they'll be balancing it out so that zombies don't spawn too fast and that so a cleared area doesn't stay cleared forever. But yeah, zombies will respawn in some capacity if I understand what they're saying.

 

I haven't managed to see the entire stream yet since I have been finishing a paper, stuffing my face with spicy lamb curry, and falling asleep during the times that I'd usually be devoting myself to being a forum nazi.

Just as long as the zombies stay gone long enough to fully loot the area you're looting, I'll be happy. God, is that ever irritating in the mod.

So I’m right in thinking once you clear out a Town or Village the Zombies cant magically spawn back till the area is empty of Human players????? But Zombies can roam in still.

 

If that’s the case fantastic.

 

Watching Deans stream and those tower blocks, I take it these are Empty shells without loot till somebody enters them for the first time or that’s some waste of resources on the server. Surly there is some formula to populate with loot when the need arises. I understand when you do populate then that’s it till the server restart as it should be. If your in first you should get first chance and anyone after will get your leftovers.

I'm not sure on the specifics, but I'd agree that that's how it should work. Well, perhaps with a small chance of them spawning in the vicinity of players (to simulate say, a zombie locked in a closet or something breaking out).

 

I'm not sure if the roaming bit has been fully implemented. I'd love for their to be different spawn "zones" whereby zombies can spawn on the outskirts of a town and gradually work their way inward. That way, the system doesn't have to track zombies roaming from afar and you still have to maintain your stuff.

 

This is all contingent, of course, on construction as well. I don't think you could properly settle a town without it.

I'm currently taking bets on wether a show stopper bug will be found. I'm leaning towards ABSOLUTELY.

So I assume Rocket didn't mention anything about the release in the 3 hour video?

 

 

The only release related highlights from the stream were:

 

-He almost let slip that they were working this weekend to, quote - "Lock down...." [people assume lock down the build], and then he caught himself and bit his tongue.

-He mentioned twice that the alpha is still full of bugs, and people therefore shouldn't buy it unless they know what they're getting into.

-When asked, he refused to say if it would be a 2013 or 2014.

-When asked which bugs are holding up release and he said he didin't know (and apparently the cloning bug is gone).

 

And for what it's worth, I couldn't see any show-stopper bugs in the stream and I watch almost the whole thing.
