TIC 1050 Posted October 29, 2013 I'm glad to see the network bubble being finished. It looks great as I can see in the picture of how it'll work in-game. Looks like we'll be seeing a very large boost in performance in comparison to ARMA 2.
C0pyRyte 12 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) This functionality has been finished, and is tested and proven for SA. - Dean Edited October 29, 2013 by C0pyRyte

AnarchyBrownies 1383 Posted October 29, 2013 I have an interview tonight. No doubt after months and months of unsuccessfully trying to get a job I will get this one, the standalone will release tomorrow, and I won't be able to play because adult responsibility.

St. Jimmy 1631 Posted October 29, 2013 I'm guessing that the launch is in the beginning of December. Let's see (tomorrow?) how the test goes.
AnarchyBrownies 1383 Posted October 29, 2013 Nooooesssssss That could still mean it's close. He's basically confirming what the guy said, which is that they have to test it first on a wider scale and then release it, but saying November 5th is wrong. That's all. HumanBeing25 299 Posted October 29, 2013 WHY'RE YOU DOING THIS TO US, ROCKET. WE WANT THE GAME, GOOD OR BAD, BROKEN OR NOT.JUST GIVE IT TO US :(
TIC 1050 Posted October 29, 2013 WHY'RE YOU DOING THIS TO US, ROCKET. WE WANT THE GAME, GOOD OR BAD, BROKEN OR NOT.JUST GIVE IT TO US :( Well Rocket did say he wanted the alpha to be good. We'll just have to wait until he's pleased with the release. A smooth alpha means a smooth ride all the way to the end.

A smooth alpha means a smooth ride all the way to the end. He's only saying that because he knows that financially it would be unwise to release it too early, but similarly would it be with releasing it too late.Dean is not an idiot (I hope not), and he's not making a product to please us--it's a business. Henryllex~ 407 Posted October 29, 2013 Network bubble is done, but rocket said that Standalone will not be released until multiplayer perfomance is stable, so that means moarrzzzzz optimization before release.
AnarchyBrownies 1383 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Network bubble is done, but rocket said that Standalone will not be released until multiplayer perfomance is stable, so that means moarrzzzzz optimization before release. Understandable. Can anyone weigh in on how long something like performance stabilization can generally take? Is it just minor tweaking or is it a massive job? EDIT: Obviously anything could happen to speed up or delay this process, I'm just asking if there's a very general time frame.
